Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had the first baby, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Ahhh, huge congrats, minipie (I'll add my voice to the chorus of Cecily fans, it's pretty, and unusual. Makes me think 1920s, one of my favourite eras for cool names)

And good luck penguin!

cinnamon you'll be joining me then on a due date of April 7th then! (And Brixton and moomin if memory serves!Smile) And I bet the induction will go well, after all you seem about as fit and healthy as a preggers person can be, and hopefully that might speed things up!

Great day today for baby news! Grin

Just back from a lovelylast short break as a twosome with DP... so theoretically could now go into labour relaxed.
Oh hang on, no I can't - have to make it to Mothers Day to take my Mum out, then have folk round for dinner on Friday, then invite the Godfamily round the following weekend, and get some baby sleeping bags, and some cellular blankets and finish up loads of artwork and...
GAAH! It never ends! Shock

daholster · 13/03/2015 19:58

Dh just told me not to tell him about everyone having babies, with him working away he is super stressed about me going into labour early. I think he means it by the look on his face... I'll keep all the news to myself...

My waters never went last time siarie, just stronger braxton hicks for a short run in the morning for the couple of days before then that morning they just were a bit more painful, didn't stop and kept getting worse. Trigger for me was a sudden drop in stress. I did say to dh that I am betting this means I go into labour one weekend when he gets home.

I am so uncomfortable this evening. He is sitting so high and I am stretched and sore and it's so hard to be comfy unless I'm just lying on my left which I know isn't best for his position. I also have back ache. And dh is coming down with something looking peaky, exhausted and feeling icky poor thing...

Dd's teeth hurt too so somehow I doubt it will be a night of good sleep!!!!

Please drop and engage little boy, I would be really really grateful!

PenguinPoser · 13/03/2015 20:36

Sounds like a busy busy day all round!

Hospital were running late initially so I wasn't examined until 7pm and had tbe pessary then. Major downside is need examining again at 1am Hmm not that I'm likely to get a decent sleep anyway! Feeling a bit lot scared and overwhelmed both by the upcoming labour and well the rest of my life! DH was meant to go home at 8pm but I just don't want him to leave me. Watching comic relief though. And having some mild cramps!

Be brave penguin! Your DC is worth it Smile Mild cramps sounds promising! Flowers

smogsville · 13/03/2015 21:07

minipie congratulations! and to River if I somehow missed the actual birth? Sorry brain is addled today. My DD was that exact weight at 39 wks. Yes love the name too very very pretty.

cinnamon i feel for your Sept 10 thread lady. That's good news from your appt isn't it - great weight too for this gestation.

daholster I just another whole jar of cornichons and silverskin onions.

Penguin thinking of you!

Great update dances, fingers crossed she'll be home with you soon. And HB for yesterday. Hope you found time for a bit of cake.

Good work Brixton. I can't wait to finish up.

Nunkie it sounds like you should get the baby sleeping bags and the blankets and then you'll be ready. How was all the eating on your mini break?

OMG I have had it up to here today with DD. I genuinely don't know how I'm going to manage - patience and temper wise - when newbie is here too.

Have just had some good news though DD's little cousin's first bday party which we thought was on Sunday is actually tmrw so it means that as my 34 wk appt is tmrw arvo, DH will take her and I get to miss the whole party YES! Peace and quiet! Then I will make my way over there early evening and we'll have a takeaway and sleepover there (as it's south London it's impossible to do there and back in a day).

cinnamongreyhound · 13/03/2015 21:11

It's hard with your oh when induced penguinposer BUT having said that, he will be more use to you well rested. Dh went home at 10.30 when I was induced with ds1 and they called him back at 5.30am. He'd had some sleep and they sent a midwife to be with me when things got going before he arrived. Try and get some sleep if you can, sooner rather than later Flowers

I've had a little cry with Dh and he was his usual supportive loveliness. I'm going to do my very best to enjoy the last three weeks of being pregnant (as that'll be it for the rest of my life) and take it as it comes when the baby arrives. I'm worried that my stress about what will happen when he's here will affect my labour as well as the negative be thoughts/worries about being induced.

cinnamongreyhound · 13/03/2015 21:16

Not sure its good news or not smogsville was hoping they'd let me go a week over but she's keen to get him out now. Just brings it to the fore front that he has problems and we will soon have to deal with whatever the outcome.

On other notes, my biggest dog has some kind of tummy upset and has poo'd on the carpet 4 times today :(
Dh has finished painting the baby's room and I have made biscuits for my parkruns second birthday andy boys went to school with daft faces. Dh and I had a late lunch/early tea in a lovely pub on our way home too.

The skin on my hands, arms, back and sometimes my legs is really itchy. Not the palms though, so not sure whether to be concerned, I've got a midwife appointment Monday I think I'll mention it then.

Who else had itchy skin? I can't remember

cinnamongreyhound · 13/03/2015 21:23

I did with both of mine Sairie, scratched my legs to bits but midwife wasn't concerned. This time I find if I moisturise I don't itch as much. Definitely mention it though, especially as you have an appointment so soon.

smogsville · 13/03/2015 21:30

Sorry cinnamon, I must have cross posted with your second post. Thought you'd sounded quite upbeat in earlier one and pleased to have a plan. Didn't mean to be insensitive Brew

FiRaffe · 13/03/2015 21:30

It was one of Penguin's signs of oc I think (and why she's being induced early). Definitely worth mentioning - better to be safe than sorry.

Absolutely shattered after walking round with my mum, then going with her and DH to get the stuff for decorating. Got home about 7.30 having walked for most of the previous 4 hrs and bump is whinging. Sorry for the complaining post...

Hope all goes well penguin

cinnamongreyhound · 13/03/2015 21:39

I didn't take it as insensitive at all smogsville! It's great he's growing well and something's are the same but others slightly worse so she didn't want to wait longer which I hoped I'd be able to push for. Midwife did make me think it would be possible and also put in my head that induction is less likely to be as quick 2 weeks earlier than with my other two. But she was keen on s&s so I will hang my hopes on that doing something to get me going.

Siarie · 13/03/2015 21:47

cinnamon I expect it's nothing, my only little concern is last weekend I thought I looked a bit more tanned. Didn't say anything then the day after my DH said I looked more tanned.

Now I'm wondering maybe I'm going yellow. Which with the itchy is a bit Hmm

cinnamongreyhound · 13/03/2015 21:52

I didn't have any tanning with mine Sairie just drier skin. Definitely ask, better to be safe than sorry. Yes, I'm sure that's why PenguinPoser is being induced early.

smogsville · 13/03/2015 21:57

Thanks cinnamon. And sorry it hasn't worked out exactly how you wanted of course.

smogsville · 13/03/2015 22:02

Oh got to share this btw...

My friend was round earlier with her DS who's nearly 4 and is friends with DD and her 5 month old DS2.

She was changing DS2's nappy. My DD watching with interest, asked why her DS2 had 'a finger poking out of his bottom'. Having nearly wet ourselves laughing we explained that that is his willy which all boys have. At which point she said my dad has a willy but it's much bigger than that.

OMG. Poor DH barely knew where to look when I told him BlushBlushBlush

RL20 · 13/03/2015 22:05

Just dropping by to say good luck Penguin!

I have read most of the comments but have got no real energy to do a long post I'm afraid. Hope you are all and manage to have a good nights rest!
Have been sorting out partners daughters bedroom with her as it's basically still upside down from when we had to move things around for the workmen. Haven't finished it yet and have managed to so far clear one bin bag full of rubbish, 2 bin bags full of things she wants to take to her mums house, and 2 bin bags full of toys/teddies/books that she wants to give to children who haven't got many toys. Someone suggested to take them to the local hospital in the children's part, so I'm going to give them a call tomorrow I think.
You wouldn't think that it had all come out of the box room of the flat! With still more to go. The hallway is now full of bin bags and toys laying around so I need to go to sleep to ignore it Confused
Night everyone Brew

PenguinPoser · 13/03/2015 22:06

Yes Siarie my cholestasis started with itching. My midwife initially didn't test me as it wasn't my palms and soles, but was bump, boobs, back, arms and legs, and now here I am at 37 weeks being induced. To reassure you a bit it is quite rare but you should definitely mention it and get some bloods done.

Your biscuits look lovely cinnamon - hope you're feeling ok BrewCake
You're right DH will be more use to me tomorrow if he has had some sleep, he is home now. Not very exciting this hospital and waiting malarkey!

Siarie · 13/03/2015 22:07

BrixtonBunny · 13/03/2015 22:48

We have a kitchen ladies, I repeat, we have a kitchen! Also the floors are almost done. Still a huge mountain of other things that need doing but feeling a bit better about moving in on Thursday now!

FiRaffe · 13/03/2015 23:09

Great news Brixton.

Hope all have a good night sleep. Busy day decorating tomorrow

PenguinPoser · 14/03/2015 06:46

Morning ladies Brew
Brixton amazing news about the kitchen.
Smogs lol at your DD!

I'm tired. Haven't slept at all, and feel really zonked from having dihydrocodeine in the middle of the night. Didn't need the second pessary - so waiting to go to delivery suite this morning when the day staff come on shift. They have let me have an early breakfast of bran flakes and tea! Can't wait for DH to get back here with me. Still having irregular contractions but not very strong. Thanks for all of your well wishes - keep your fingers crossed for me! And any other babies that decide to make an appearance today!
