Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had the first baby, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Grin RL20, is their surname tanfastics?

A lady on my sept '10 thread had twins in August and a dd the following October Shock smogsville.

Oh wow, congratulations minipie!!!

On way back from my scan, baby is still growing well and although kidney is no larger the cortex is in relation so she doesn't want me to go to 41 weeks Sad. He had hiccups during the scan, was so weird to see him twitching as I felt them :). Head down and partially in the pelvis and spine to my left at the moment. Est. weight 6lb12 at the moment and still following the same line, fluid levels good and cord blood flow good so they are inducing me on 7th april on antenatal ward rather than delivery suite to allow me more mobility and flexibility and she's happy for the midwife to do s&s at 38 and 39 weeks and hope that I don't need an induction. Then the adventure begins as to what little man will need before he can come home!

PenguinPoser · 13/03/2015 15:17

Ah Lauren that's so cute!

Cinnamon sounds like mixed news for you Flowers but you have a plan in place now which I found reassuring for me - hope you do too. Sounds good that you can have the sweeps and hopefully things will start themselves off.

On way to hospital now - literally shaking in my boots!

daholster · 13/03/2015 15:22

penguin you will be fine. It must be very strange being induced and knowing you are to expect the pain to start. I think being taken by surprise is probably less daunting because you have less time to think about it!

Don't worry lovely, you will do it fine. We are made for it and your body has already started the job! Hopefully this means it will progress nicely. Every pain is one closer to the end and the reward is amazing... you will be brilliant.

Thinking of you, of course! I will be eagerly awaiting updates if there are any!

cinnamon mixed news but at least you have a good plan. His weight is good too already!

Lauren82000 · 13/03/2015 15:40

Penguin if your cervix was already favorable then it should go no problem. Hope it goes quick for you and you only need 1 lot of gel.

Cinnamon least you don't have to go to delivery suite to be induced. I imagine it would be boring hanging round on there waiting for it all to start and they would get a bit annoyed with you taking up a bed, regardless of your issues. I was induced on the maternity ward and there was a right battle axe mw on there who was mean to me. Here's hoping you don't get one like her.

TheBooMonster · 13/03/2015 15:54

good luck penguin!!

Congratulations Minipie I love the name you have chosen.

Good luck Penguin

cinnamon I'm glad you have a plan in place. Is that your last scan?

I'm uncomfortable today and feel a bit sick, I've just got home so going to have a lie down.

lila35 · 13/03/2015 16:30

Congrats on all the babies....Its so exciting isn't it? I am loving it!

You must feel better knowing the plan now Cinnamon?

Good luck Penguin.

37 weeks for me today and I cannot wait to meet this little man now!

dancestomyowntune · 13/03/2015 16:32

Boo just taken a peek at the stats and if you feel you want to put more info on for me and Tiger-Rose then here's the stats:

I am 31 (as of yesterday), Tiger-Rose is our fifth baby (but 16th pregnancy- I had A LOT of miscarriages between dd1 and ds1). Due date was 13/04/15 but she was born at 30 weeks due to mummy being poorly with high blood pressure that didn't want to respond to medication. She was born by emcs and weighed 2lb 11oz.

I think that's everything Grin

Congratulations to everyone else having babies, sounds like it's been a busy few Days!

Tiger-Rose is doing really well, I'm at SCBU with her now and she has just taken a full 45 mls from the bottle for me. I am hoping she will be coming home in the next few days, just got to persuade the nurses not to be lazy and encourage them to offer bottles at every feed. Everything else is definitely heading in the right direction! GrinGrinGrin

BananaToast · 13/03/2015 16:48

Hope you managed something for your birthday dancestomyowntune and glad t looks like Tiger-rose will be home soon.

I had a mw make me cry on antenatal ward when induced with ds1 too Lauren82000, was induced at clinic and went home with ds2 which was preferable! Yes last scan wineandchoccy, on plus point she said she couldn't get a face pic as he was in my pelvis but we could see him sucking his little hand and the Dr said he has chubby cheeks. I think now the worry about what he'll need when he's born has kicked in though lila35 and just a desperate hope I go into labour naturally. 3 out of 3 inductions isn't fair Angry plus being that bit earlier than with my other pregnancies it's a bit more worrying that I won't respond as well.

Really hoping it all goes smoothly for you PenguinPoser, I was in your shoes nearly 8 years ago and it did all go well. He's now 135cm and a pain in the butt at times but I love him to bits and would do it all again in an instant for him. With a favourable cervix it looks good, my bishops score was 0-2 with ds1 and I cried a lot but still got going quickly!

BrixtonBunny · 13/03/2015 17:15

Happy birthday dances - fab news about Tiger-Rose too!

I'm now officially on maternity leave. Shit's getting real!! It was a lovely last day, got some presents, and a couple of my colleagues cried which almost set me off but I managed to hold it together. Have a tiny bit of handover to finish tomorrow but that's it.

Last NCT class tonight too. Lots of mini milestones!

TheBooMonster · 13/03/2015 17:16

thus far for dinner DD has had a lamb hotpot and 3 scratch that 4 and she's learnt how to open them herself froobs... is it possible to overdose on froobs?!

Wow dances, so glad everything's going good for you and Tiger-Rose!
Still loving that name too Grin By the sounds of your latest post, you've been through so much! Wishing you the best of luck and health! Thanks

Also good luck to you Penguin! I'm sure you will be fine! Not long until you meet little one now Grin

Daholster - totally agree with you about the Save The Children ads and others alike. Unfortunately I, along with I'm sure many others, just don't trust the government enough to know exactly where the money goes. £2 a month is nothing to help people in need but when it's not in this country, it's harder to actually visit to know that all of your money is going towards them!
For now I'll keep on donating to local charities where I can see where the money is going etc.

Well I've just got back from a bit of shopping. I only nipped to ASDA for some lightbulbs and toothpaste Confused
Anyone else feel guilty when they spend a bit of money on themselves? I'm feeling guilty now after looking at my bank balance, but after being skint throughout December and January and much of February, I felt like I needed to get something to make me feel a bit better! I was entitled to the maternity grant of £500 which I receive a few weeks ago so have been living off that until I get this months pay. We have bought everything for the baby now, and I bought the last big thing (Isofix base) out of the money, at £125, plus lots more clothes and accessories etc. I haven't bought many clothes throughout this pregnancy at all, and no shoes, so treated myself to a new pair of boots, some jewellery and a top, and I can't stop feeling guilty Confused Please tell me I'm not the only one!

BrixtonBunny · 13/03/2015 17:41

Cinnamon as others have said that sounds both good and stressful, but hopefully it will give you a bit of time to get used to the idea. I love the sound of your little boy's chubby cheeks! Smile

TheBooMonster · 13/03/2015 17:46

rl you're totally entitled to treat yourself to some new things, especially if everything you need is sorted!

Congrats mini, and good luck penguin!

Lovely update on Tiger-Rose too..the babies are coming thick and fast...it still feels ages away for me!

Had my hospital tour this afternoon and now I'm so excited to go into labour haha..is that weird!?

minipie · 13/03/2015 18:50

Hi all, thanks for lovely comments on the name (esp as my mum said a while back she didn't like it and midwife today said 'oh Cecily that's... different' with a Hmm face) anyway we like it!

penguin good luck! Hope it all goes well and your body is thinking that way already.

symptoms before - nothing really. I did have a bit of an achy lower back the evening before but nothing major. Unless having a huge bump counts as a symptom? I think for most people it doesn't happen like this though, it's usually contractions first, waters after isn't it? Seems my body just bursts waters early and then goes into labour as that's what happened with DD as well.
