Daholster hugs! You are doing amazingly with all that's going on and I'm at bursting point too ( tummy and head at times!)
mammayarra hi!!
obelia if that midwife is supposed to be encouraging BFing they have just missed an opportunity! How awful and off putting. I fully plan to BF but I still have bottles I bought them with my pump.

So I'm up in the night... Cant sleep , so uncomfy and restless and stressed. Have just made myself a stack of washable breast pads and started sewing a quilt...this is not normal behaviour for me at any time let alone half 1 in the morning. ??????

I'm still really worried baby has moved. Pretty certain he/she is transverse now. My tummy stretching out side to side ( to breaking point ouch new stretch marks every night) and feeling hiccups very high up. Waaaah! Why has it moved now!!? :(

MW on Thurs so can't really confirm until then but hope I can encourage it back to head down. Should I be leaning forward on my ball? Does walking help?

AnniaFausta · 02/03/2015 07:11

DH's mammoth phone call with MiL last night cleared up quite a few things... basically we are all on the same page about agreeing that it would be great if Team Grandparent could offer one day of childcare a week, but she wants to coordinate with my mother before agreeing to that, as opposed to agreeing to the idea in principle and then coordinating with my mother to sort out the logistics. Which is fine and I wish she'd just said that... I got quite tetchy about this last night for no good reason beyond just wanting people to say what they're thinking outright and avoiding this sort of unnecessary complication. Life's complicated enough with a small person on the way without being expected to mind-read grumblegrumblegrumble But we're back on track so that's a relief. Dropping the enrolment form off at the nursery this morning - doesn't quite feel possible, even if the due date is next month!

FiRaffe · 02/03/2015 07:16

Glad you're feeling better about help from the grandparents Annia. Wish we had that option but both sets are at least 2 hours away.

Had a rubbish night, woke at about 3.30 realising that along with needing a wee I had to go in early this morning and hadn't set the early alarm on DH's phone. Want to just sleep all day now but still have to go in early for month end..grrr!

smogsville · 02/03/2015 07:45

Great news Annia. And normal to feel tetchy during preg. And to just want everyone to fall in with plans straightaway without quibbling Wink

Only six days left going into office (spread over next three weeks), yippee! Meeting best friend tonight after work to make most of fact that mum is at home with DD anyway so makes no diff if I'm home at 730 or 930.

smogsville · 02/03/2015 07:46

Sorry for all the crap sleep btw. I am finding that not drinking too close to bed works well although I wake up absolutely parched and worry that poor baby is too Shock

smogsville · 02/03/2015 07:46

Oh and Boo - thanks - will share with DH - we someone missed the memo on that one, bugger.

GherkinMuncher · 02/03/2015 07:58

Hi

I'm due on 14 April so I think that makes me 33+6?

Already got DD1 who is 19 months so just about getting over the shock of this one!!

skyra13 · 02/03/2015 08:06

Hi GherkinMuncher welcome

Morning ladies.

I have my 34 week scan today to check of growth, fingers crossed all will be ok.

I have to go on my own :( my dad was taking me but he decided to sell his car last night lol was hoping I wouldn't have to drive due to back pain in the bloody seat! Gonna get stuck in school traffic to as its at 3.30 the appointment, then I got to come home make dinner for me and DH then go back for parent ed meeting at hospital to learn about labour as I missed the first one last time!

Feeling like a bit of a moaning mini this morning I hate driving lol.

daholster · 02/03/2015 08:11

Sorry for the rubbish nights everyone. Mine was rubbish too, just too sore, must have had to change position with full pillow maneouvring (under bump, between legs) at least 10 times between 00.30 and 04.30 when I woke... Then after the loo managed a stressful dream and one or two changes before dd woke up at 07.15. I ended up on my back with the pillow under my knees eventually, whether I should have or not. Still, don't feel too bad in myself so far...

Dh has just gone Sad He was awesome yesterday evening letting me have a long bath while he did roast dinner and entertained dd, then he cleaned it all up. How I feel about today has been positively influenced by dh having 40 mins with us this am cuddling and playing with dd and making me a coffee before he left. He can be amazing. I feel sad that he has left and a bit teary now but at least a bit set up for the day. And my brilliant dad is coming over later so I can be relieved of dd duties and sort the house and go for my second waxing appointment Shock I am really not looking forward to it at all!!!

Hope everyone has a good day starting with the perfect Brew !!! Feels like a lovely luxury today Smile

Welcome gherkin! Love the name, I'm a pregnant gherkin muncher too!!! And another due date buddy with me and wineandchoccy Smile

skyra good luck - and moan away!!! Whoever said you want everyone to agree with you with no quibbling in pregnancy... Omg that is so true, I get horribly spitefully grumpy when I'm challenged Blush Quite ashamed really...

33+6

Lauren82000 · 02/03/2015 08:36

Morning ladies and hello to the new people.

Surprise surprise another rubbish nights sleep. Scary dreams and hip/back pain. Was a pretty bad dream actually had a poltergeist in it that attacked me with a meat cleaver! Confused

I do randomly feel less bump today though. Can almost button my coat up again and feels easier to move about which is slightly worrying. I thought the lightening effect at the end was just a myth. It's far too early to be feeling sprightly I'm not even 33w yet (32+5) still had no hiccups so not sure which way up baby is either. Sad Oh well 3 weeks left at work and this is only a half week because of the funeral on Thursday. Yay for less time at work but not for the reason why. Sad

Nunkie · 02/03/2015 08:38

Morning All!

Obelia I agree that that was a poor approach by the midwife. Encouraging people to give it a crack and letting them know what to expect is one thing - bossing them about by telling them to put their formula away is another!

Frankly, I've bought formula as back-up because I feel more comfortable knowing it's there, and tho I fully intend to give breastfeeding a go, I'm not going to beat myself up if it doesn't work. 'Beware the Breast-Feeding Mafia' - as a friend said to me the other day.

Sorry about the crap sleeps everyone, and sorry you're feeling a bit overwhelmed daholster. :0( I sometimes find myself panicking even with the luxury of no other children, and DP being around, so in comparison I think you're already coping like a star, and will continue to do so!)

smogsville · 02/03/2015 08:39

Nice one daholster. Yes it was me who said no quibbling!

Welcome gherkin. I too can do a whole jar in one go, easily. Current faves are Opie's cornichons with silverskin onions. Lovely crunchy texture.

Speaking of which am starving, if this tube stops again to regulate the chuffing service I can't be held responsible for my actions.

skyra13 · 02/03/2015 08:41

Thanks ladies!

I seem to get a moan on when I don't get my own way lately lol sat and cried at my husband yesterday cus I had thrown a tee towel down the stairs lol.

Kept forgetting to take it down to kitchen and was driving me mad, and he shouted at me for throwing it on a dirty floor I can see his point but I was pissed at my self for not remembering to take it down stairs so I thought if I thrown it down I wont forget it lol

Then I was even more pissed at my self for crying over a tea towel and that I had to wash it again!!

DH did't help by keep saying what you crying for, that in turn made me even more angry I was crying cus I was annoyed a crying Honestly I am not this mental normally.

I blame DH for putting me in a mood in the first place I was playing ball in the garden with the dog and DH was doing a poo pick lol and the ball went a bit to close to him so he shouted at me!! Don't shout at a pregnant women my god I get so angry, I shouted whatever like a child so that annoyed him haha and I stormed into the house sometimes I think I do it on purpose to wind him up Grin

smogsville · 02/03/2015 08:43

Lauren I have bumptious/ less bumptious days too. I think it's probably to do with how much I've eaten and what stage of digestion I'm at!

Yes good luck at scan Skyra, is the labour education thing worth going back for? After all your labour might not be anything like the one they show you?

skyra13 · 02/03/2015 08:50

I don't have a number for midwife to say I wont go, kind of feel its a bit pointless but feel bad for missing the 1st one lol

Going really to meet people as well as the bunch I meet last time were all miserable farts lol This meeting explains the processes of labour stage by stage the last one I went to explained all the possible out comes of what could happen. So might be worth going plus makes my DH learn a bit more as he don't listen to me :)

Siarie · 02/03/2015 09:06

Final antenatal class this evening, feels weird that we won't be going after this. It's kind of become a little routine! Grin

I can't believe I only have 5-8 weeks until she will be here. It's kicked in now that these are the last weeks left of just me, soon she will be born and that will be a little ripple of change in this world. Not just my world but everyone's world, who knows who she will meet, what she will choose to do with her life. A life that she wouldn't have had if we hadn't decided to make it Shock.

When you think about the reaponabilties it's all very consuming, but I'm looking forward to the ride.

32+0

Nunkie · 02/03/2015 09:20

Awwww.... those words made me feel all emotional Siarie :0)

(Hi Gherkin and all the newbies btw!
Speaking of gherkins, pickle-fans, apparently this place [ meatliquor.com/london/ ] does awesome battered ones. Looking forward to a visit there some time in the far-flung future when i'm actually to eat a burger that isn't chargrilled to coal again (and can find some sort of babysitter. Maybe :0)

And Skyra - good luck at the scan!
Re tea-towel and emotional outbursts, I finally started bawling the other day when DP made a very mild query about the way I was cooking pasta. To be fair it was preceded by months of work-stress, but its hilarious the stuff that sets you off in the end when the hormones are raging!)

mumhum · 02/03/2015 09:36

Well ladies, I actually had a fab time at the wedding at the weekend and danced until 1am. I wonder what baby thought of all that! I did have a sneaky glass of kir royale at the reception, but s/he was certainly awake by the time I got to bed and finally stopped moving. Now I am going to list my lovely Isabella Oliver dress on ebay as very unlikely to be 35 weeks pregnant again! Hope everyone else is having a good day too.

RL20 · 02/03/2015 09:47

Welcome Gherkin! I'm not in the gherkin club I'm afraid, that's a craving I haven't gained! Grin

Skyra these hormone things are crazy.. I'm sure you're not the only one crying at nothing! When I stayed over at my mums on Saturday night, she was out at the shop and I text her asking if she could get me a Turkish delight chocolate bar, she text back saying she couldn't as she'd already left the shop. I burst into tears!!ShockShock Makes me feel crazy even reading that out loud! I actually could of gone to the shop myself but I couldn't be bothered! I felt like such a spoiled brat and I'm the complete opposite of that normally! Confused
And good luck with your scan today. Sounds like you've got a busy day, the things us women do!

Lauren that dream sounds awful! And I always feel a bit less 'bumpy' in the morning, but throughout the day and definitely at the end of the day I feel 'normal' again!

Sorry to all of you that had crap nights sleep again Confused I haven't had a terrible nights sleep as yet other than when I do get into bed and lie down it sort of takes my breath away and feel like I have to lean up for a minute to breathe properly! Maybe because our bed is relatively low down, I'm not sure.
Although last night when we got into bed, partner fell straight sleep and I tried my best to as I was genuinely tired, but I ended up going for a wee FOUR times in the space of about an hour if not less! That's a record so far for me. Baby was wriggling a lot so I'm guessing he was rolling around on my bladder Grin

Contractors are meant to be coming out today to "dig up the floor" but when we rang they seemed to know nothin about it and couldn't understand why our heating had been cut off if they weren't even sure where the leak was coming from! So they are meant to be calling my partner back in about half an hour. I'd planned to stay in all day for them as he's at work. The flats still upside down as no point cleaning it obviously. I do need to nip off and have my whooping cough jab at 11.30 though. Plus Monday is my food shopping today, but currently there is no way of me getting to the cupboards to put shopping into!
Suppose I best get up, layer up and start sorting the kitchen out then Confused

PenguinPoser · 02/03/2015 09:52

Aw Siarie that's so sweet and emotional! I am intermittently feeling quite overwhelmed by what is about to happen to me/all of us!

Mumhum glad you enjoyed the wedding and I'm sure baby didn't mind a little kir royale - yum.

Hi Gherkin Smile

Skyra hope your scan goes ok this morning and the drive isn't too bad. Is your hospital far to go?

Smogs hope you've had some food now! Horrible being starving when pregnant.
I've just been for my liver ultrasound scan and wasn't allowed to eat before it so just getting home and having a cuppa and a toasted hot cross bun was amazing, although I could totally eat another one. Sonographer was lovely and even though it wasn't a baby scan she gave me a photo of the little foot that is poking out under my ribs. It's amazing can see the toes Grin

Lauren and Daholster I sympathise with the poor sleep. Feel like I'm awake every hour trying to turn over (ouch) and needing the loo all the time. Horrible dreams you're having too Lauren.

Hope everyone's days are ok.

Gaaah - medical question:
Just had call from the Surgery.. platelet count slightly decreased since last time apparently (when it was already slightly down at 138) so they asked me to phone the MV for further instructions.

Anyone have experience of this? I hear it may affect your chances of being able to have an epidural but was not sure at what point they consider it a 'proper' issue (I read over 50 is considered more serious...?)

(Also slightly anaemic - tho that's just me forgetting to take my iron tablets like an idiot!)

PenguinPoser · 02/03/2015 10:20

I think platelets can drop a bit in pregnancy Nunkie mainly due to dilution as you have an increased blood volume. Depending what the exact levels are - above 100 very unlikely to impact on epidural etc, they might plan to keep an eye on them and might check them when you go into hospital in labour just to make sure they are still ok. Probably just means a couple of extra blood tests - fingers crossed nothing more. But definitely ring your mw and see what she says.
