Skyra I've used puppy pads to put under my sheet in bed as they felt the same as a bed mat and were cheaper.
I am also thinking I should put one in the car seen as I have a company car I don't think I can claim back a valet if my waters go in it Grin

Wineandchoccy · 07/03/2015 10:59

Faithope a lady can never have to many bags Smile

skyra13 · 07/03/2015 11:06

They are square shape so fit well on chairs so will use it on chair and on car chairs then get bigger one for bed!

RL20 · 07/03/2015 11:08

Boo I have to roll too! Haven't yet started asking my partner to help me get up yet, I'm not that far along yet surely??Grin (in denial lol!)

Skyra our bed is high up too, think Princess and the Pea!
We had a memory foam mattress which needed replacing so got a new mattress, but it seemed to low down and as my partner couldn't bare to get rid of the memory foam mattress anyway, he decided to put it under the new one Hmm

River yes I sort of see what you mean, I don't tend to get up when baby is moving around as I feel like I'd interrupt him?!

Faithope · 07/03/2015 11:08

I had to get a taxi to hospital last time and I put one in there, although the hospital is 15 minutes down the road, the taxi driver got us there in 5..I wonder why lol

Faithope · 07/03/2015 11:09

RL do you have a pea under all those mattresses?? Grin

skyra13 · 07/03/2015 11:18

RL I am like princess and the pea to! The bed was high anyway but added a memory foam topper dude to back pain when I sleep but that didn't help so physo said to sleep on top of quilts to pad my back out so I also sleep on 2 doubled over quilts! And with about 10 pillows since being pregnant lol its like a wall between me an DH Grin

RiverRocks · 07/03/2015 11:19

It's the pee on top she needs to worry about! I'm so sorry, I'm feeling giddy with finishing work, and having a party, and I had a kitkat chunky for breakfast

Faithope I only joined quite late, so don't post, but it's been good for bargains!

RL20 · 07/03/2015 11:29

Yes I think there probably is ha ha! Grin

The main reason of getting rid of the memory foam mattress was because it started to dip in the middle, but even with the new mattress on top it's not solved the problem as were still rolling towards the middle! It's not comfortable at all so think I've convinced him to get rid of the memory foam, finally. And we'll get a memory foam topper instead.

I've just had a mcdonalds for my breakfast, is that bad?! Shock
Baby seemed to enjoy it! Anyone else feel like they know when there baby is 'eating'?!
After I've ate, for a few mins there's a bit of wriggling around as if he's eating what I've just ate! Grin Of course it could be total coincidence ha ha.

brummagem · 07/03/2015 11:42

Breasticles appear to have finally had a growth spurt after all the no growing drama llama and no longer pass the pencil test! Gutted.

2.5 weeks left at work it's getting harder though pelvis hurts more and boy does he feel heavy but that's probably because he's already 5lb at 32 weeks.

McDonald's isn't bad for breakfast as long as don't eat it all the time. Their sausage and egg mcmuffins are to die for though! Used to like the snack wraps but started making my own as cheaper. Had one the other day and couldn't eat it. The wrap tasted so sweet and rather nasty.

We covered breathing in our antenatal class which was really nice and relaxing until I got the giggles. Blush

Hope you're all feeling ok now and it's just baby aches than rubbishy illness stuff. Flowers

It's all getting a bit overwhelming here as still haven't got everything sorted for hospital bags the house move is still in progress (will probably complete the day I go into labour) and I have about 3 months work to do in 2 weeks haha.

FiRaffe · 07/03/2015 11:51

Good luck with the shopping Rusty. Hope your DH has success.

Ooh bed mats...need to think about that..eek too much to think about!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/03/2015 11:52

Yes several times a day Nunkie for hiccups 3-6 I would say, had one lot this morning.

I had 3 stretch and sweeps with ds2 Lauren82000, cervix was 2-stretching to 3cm dilated at all of them. Apparently it never fully closes again once you've have a vaginal delivery and a nurse once told me how much easier it was to do a cervical smear on a lady who's had a baby than those at haven't!

Very interesting Hidingthefear, thank you Smile hope your buno feels better this morning and I'm sure dh's work will understand. If not have you go anyone else who can come and spend a day or two with you?

Hope everything goes well or doesn't go as the case may be Rustyzilla! Glad to hear baby is expected to be big, will they let you home if trickles stop?

You can get plug in night lights RL20 or groeggs give out a reasonable amount of light. And yes I have to roll onto my side before attempting to get up! Ive had McDonald's once a week for last few weeks, but lunchtime not breakfast, keep fancying big Macs!

I have a changing mat on changing table upstairs but have a foldable one in changing bag which hangs in downstairs loo, so accessible. We got bath splats from mothercare which were fab. I have got my bucket bath (not sure of proper name) and thanks to a friend have loads of cot bedding now. Don't think I need anything more, unless I have a small baby then I'm buggered as I've assumed with two largish ones I can't get much clothing smaller than 10lb.

Read and sleep RiverRocks, try to keep active a nice walk morning and afternoon and don't spend too much time slouching on the sofa or you'll end up with a back to back baby Wink. Baking perhaps? I love daytime tv if I get the chance but that's no good for you by the sound of it!

I'm quite enjoying freaking everyone out at the moment, because I was induced with my boys I'm still planning stuff pretty close to my due date and people are starting to get flappy! It's my parkruns 2nd birthday and I was told today they're not going to let me blow up balloons Shock

Brummagem I forgot to add that although I had it for breakfast (minus the toast I had around 7am) I kind of didn't make it in time for breakfast before 10.30am and had a cheeseburger and fries! ShockConfused

Cinnamon come to think of it, I've probably had one around once a week too Confused
Thanks for advice RE night lights, will look into what groeggs are! I thought you had misspelled Greggs Grin

I currently have a thread going called "Isofix Base - worth it? Pros and Cons?" and the replies are quite varied, although I'd say 90% are pros.
My main reason for wanting one is because we live in a first floor flat, I'll be leaving pushchair in my car boot and bringing baby up the stairs in the car seat, hence it being easier and quicker to unclip and clip the seat on and off the base, rather than the seatbelt method.
However, someone on the thread made the point that as baby gets heavier, baby in car seat is going to be quite heavy to carry anyway.
So now I just don't know what to do!!Confused

TheBooMonster · 07/03/2015 12:32

cinnamon I'm the exact opposite, people keep inviting me to stuff on or round my due date and get upset that I'm not going because I'll be too busy standing at the door with my coat on and hospital bag in hand waiting for contractions to start if I haven't already popped bump out. I'm officially in trouble with some of the family, I did such a crappy job of 'saving the day' for a wedding that my due date is the date of the wedding, and I've had to tell everyone over and over that I can't go as it's half way across the country, now another family member might not be going because of a non reason and this is clearly my fault Hmm as I've started a trend that makes it ok to not go to the wedding... Can't believe they won't let you blow up balloons though! Meanies!

I've got a wedding in 3 weeks and have visions of waters going in the service? Should I wear a maternity pad or tena lady! Il be sat with all the in-laws as well Shock

TheBooMonster · 07/03/2015 13:13

Ivegotacavetroll I think a maternity pad would be more absorbent, even the heavy tena lady are only really for 'oops', You're far braver than me!

OP posts:
RL20 · 07/03/2015 15:00

IvegotaCaveTroll I would be putting in as many pads as I could fit!! GrinGrin But that's just me, lol!
Is 3 weeks around your due date? We have been invited to one of my partners good friends weddings but it's very near my due date so I don't think we'll be going for many different reasons.

TMI just been toilet for a ... number 2 ... around half an hour ago and my pelvis and area above pubic bone feels a bit achey and tender now, feels like it could be from straining although I didn't feel I had strained too much at the time Confused baby seems fine moving around but this is probably my first bit of actual "pain" or discomfort I've had Confused

TheBooMonster · 07/03/2015 15:25

tanyloo (who is on the FB group, I'm not sure if she's from this thread or the miscarriage survival thread) has had a little boy!

OP posts:
PenguinPoser · 07/03/2015 15:31

Oh wow babies coming all over the place now!

I've just had a meltdown in the shopping centre. Was fitted for nursing bras - she put me in a 34E Shock never gone bigger than a C cup in my life and currently wearing clearly the wrong size. But they seem comfy and discrete for feeding as when the cup drops down there's just a little hole for nipple!
Anyway after that we were hungry but being Saturday there were queues everywhere and I was in so much pain from pelvis I just wanted to sit down so I cried! Blush we had to go into Costa instead so instead of lunch I've had a smoothie and a lemon tart. Lunch is still planned but have had to leave the shopping centre. Sigh - I just can't do anything anymore - so frustrating!

Lauren82000 · 07/03/2015 15:56

I'm planning on sticking one of DDs potty training bed pads under the sheet. She only had 1 on her bed and she had cracked night time dryness so I've got practically a whole pack.

Urgh the zoo was a bad idea back, hips, bump and groin are killing me. Confused Least we agreed on fish n chips for tea so I don't have to cook. Just put my feet up and they aren't swollen so yay at having one thing that's ok. Smile

I'll be pumping up the gym ball tonight to see if that fixes my hips. Might just close my eyes for a bit seem as though DD is quite happy in the front room with DH and the ipad.

IvegotaCaveTroll · 07/03/2015 16:03

Gotta say my health visitor was lovely. I talked about my worries about my meds and wether I could breast feed and if back pain may stop me. She said she could get someone to come to show me positions that wouldn't hurt my back. She was fine with my rather large dog. I'm really looking forward to seeing her again.

In fact all my obstetricians etc have been really nice. Especially with reassurances with drugs (which massively plays on my mind). I think iv been lucky compared to many- but as I work in the nhs it may help in some ways.

Can't belieave all the babies coming!

I'll be 37 weeks for the wedding- there's a chance I won't go anyway as iv been so unwell recently. I'm being induced at 39 weeks so it worries me going so close. Plus I konw I'll need extra pain killers to cope- at the moment I just get in and out of bed every hour (in the day) so I can avoid taking lots.
Husband is really keen on me going though ....(his cousin)

IvegotaCaveTroll · 07/03/2015 16:06

In fact DH has just been really moody when I said I was worried about going :( pressure

daholster · 07/03/2015 16:34

Rusty!!! Exciting! Hope all is going ok! Wow only a few days behind you, eep!

skyra Verbaudet are slooooow... Took about 2 weeks for them to dispatch some clothes I bought. They were worth the wait though!

lauren we went to the zoo today too! I am feeling so much better. It was rather too long a walk, with quite severe bump ache and backache by the end, but it was exactly the family time we needed, away from it all. Dh took on all the dd carrying/chasing/playing on the playground/changing/queuing for lunch and got her ready this morning while I showered too. Now he is snoring, lol!!! Having not fallen out of bed since days 1 and 4 of not cot side, she fell out twice last night so we were woken by wailing "Kaitlin fell out!!!" and once she cried for a drink and once just for a cuddle... All very odd, I really hope that tonight is better. I value my uninterrupted sleep!

Interesting about worries re waters going. Mine didn't and it's not unusual to be in well established labour before it happens... So not taking you by surprise! I had a dream last night that they went while at a concert and covered the back of my dress and a big patch on the seat... Then went on to dream that I didn't report my PROM for 24hrs trying to get work finished and realised I'd put baby at huge risk and tried to get seen before mum found out how irresponsible I'd been (where was dh?!). After that I dreamt about people sustaining awful fatal traumatic injuries to their faces... Confused and woke up unsettled. Strange brain!
