Hi faithope! Don't mind me, I feel like I fill up the pages moaning! Grin

Can't wait for dh to get home!!! I do at least feel now that I can drag myself off the sofa to go and get dd... An improvement on earlier when the thought of the effort made me want to cry!!!

Might even nip into the shop for more pickled onions... Wink

Thank you for keeping me company today and carrying me along a bit Smile Flowers You are all welcome for a Brew!!!! Though I think only one of you is close enough... Funny that, I could walk right past you and never know... I can't remember who it is in Woking now?!

skyra13 · 06/03/2015 16:42

Hi faith and Holly welcome to the chatterboxes :)

I am so bloody hot Just had a shower as bump was hurting one side and seemed to move her so feeling better, but I feel like I am baking in my own skin!

Bowling around the house in a summer dress meant for the beach lol

Thinking of doing a honey and mustard pasta bake for dinner something easy!

Glad the water and things are sorted RL Grin

PenguinPoser · 06/03/2015 17:15

Hi Faithope Smile

Glad you're feeling a bit better daholster. RL - YEY for the heating and hot water! Amazing news Grin

Feel so sore now I've just been out for an hour with my mum looking at second hand pushchairs and stuff as she wants some things to keep at her house for baby. But the standing/walking has got me done in. Have also cleaned the bathroom today which was on my nesting list! All cleaning and batch cooking almost done. One more batch of flapjack - might do that now actually. Don't know if I will ever be truly ready for this baby but seem to be getting there!

PenguinPoser · 06/03/2015 17:18

And in slightly more depressing news i got on the scales today and have gained 2 stone 3lb Hmm although everyone says that apart from my big bump I don't look any different... Still not pleased!

obeliaboo · 06/03/2015 17:27

Penguin dont be disheartened! - One thing i dont have in my house is scales _ i never bother, not because im well endowed with the body of an athlete (i wish), but i genuinely dont care and still dont at 8 1/2 months xD i am intrigued though, i remember the midwife weighed me at 11st 5 when i was 9 weeks.

smogsville · 06/03/2015 17:29

Penguin it might just be massive boobs! I have no idea what I weigh as we don't have scales. Do they weigh you at 34 wk appt? That's next Saturday.

obeliaboo · 06/03/2015 17:32

Now i have a silly image of the midwife weighing boobs xD

PenguinPoser · 06/03/2015 17:47

I haven't been weighed since booking (until I did it!) and 36w now - although having done a quick google I'm less panicked as it still reckons I'm within the realms of 'normal' weight gain! Wish it was all boobs smogs hehe they don't seem much different although going to get measured for nursing bras tomorrow so will be interesting to see what size I end up with!

smogsville · 06/03/2015 17:54

Megalolz for the boob weighing obelia!

DD just had a massive crying tantrum for a full 10 minutes bc I switched Frozen off before the end credits had finished. I could quite cheerfully have given her a big old smack, not that it would have helped!

I know 10 mins doesn't sound like a long time but it is when you're trapped in a house with a toddler. Think she was hungry as she's now motoring through her food and has said sorry for shouting at me and trying to kick me Confused

cinnamongreyhound · 06/03/2015 17:59

Hi Faithope!!

Yay for your hot bath RL20!

I have gained 8kg so far PenguinPoser, recommended ideal is 10-12kg which will be roughly 1 1/2-2st but I know people who've gained 4st and lost again pretty quickly. My notes have a space for midwife to write my weight at 36weeks but wasn't weighed at all apart from booking with either of my other two. Apart from baby, there's fluid, increased blood volume, your uterus and as others have said your boobs. You can deal with it in the future, it's really not a disaster Flowers

londonlivvy · 06/03/2015 18:13

this page has a grid showing how much boobs weigh per size. I was obsessed with this last time as I ended up going from 30f to 32j. I can't remember the exact figures but there was definitely a kilo or so of extra boob weight!

I've gained 11kg which is about what I gained last time so I'm fine about it. To be honest, I'm most looking forward to being able to move freely again, to get strong and fit again. to enjoy running. to feel endorphins. I'm not so bothered what the scales say. I'll give myself 9 months. 9 months out, 9 months back! that's the plan, anyway, though obviously that assumes I have an ok birth and an ok baby. which isn't guaranteed.

I sent off my maternity allowance application today. Very late, I know, but I've been waiting for an invoice to pay my national insurance contributions (I registered as self employed in Oct 2014, back dated to Oct 2013). I've chased several times. Grr. So they may refuse mat allowance until I've paid NI. Who knows. I thought I'd get the ball rolling anyway.

daholster · 06/03/2015 18:21

smogs yes 10 mins is a long time with a toddler!!! Mine just required huge cuddles because she fell off the tv stand I always tell her not to climb on...

I survived my trip out to the shop and to get dd but I did start to wonder whether things are misbehaving, good grief some of the pains I got across my bump when I was out made me stop and rub and say "oorrhhh" like a pregnant woman I would give a wide berth!!! Wink Not really... I wouldn't leave a lady in need, honest!

Then I had a pain low on my right groin which nearly made me drop dd!!! Only one sided though.

Sensibly sitting down now til dh gets home I think! And takeaway for tea!

daholster · 06/03/2015 18:26

skyra how odd to feel so hot!

I've gained 10.5kg so far... Think I might go over the weight gain recommendations since I'm only 34 weeks! Ds is already 2kg (and that was a week ago) according to scan. Dd was only 2.96kg when she was born at nearly 40 weeks!!! Think he might be bigger... So much for reusing the tiny baby clothes...

FiRaffe · 06/03/2015 18:30

I'm in Woking daholster! Hope you're feeling better and your DH is home soon.

We've had another NCT baby today. 3 babies (twins and a single) and noone has hit their due date yet.

Interesting about the boob weight. I haven't really grown yet but plenty of time!

ChickenMe · 06/03/2015 18:58

Penguin I'm around the same gestation as you-I'm 36w tomor and I have put on around 20kg. I got weighed today and I was 14stone Lol! I am not bothered at all nor am I surprised with the amount I've been eating. Grin
We had the 36w scan today and baby is estimated at 6pounds 13!! Shock. I was less than that at birth! I blame OH for being over 6 foot and having a rugby player's legs.

daholster · 06/03/2015 19:06

chicken dd was 6lb 6 at birth... I am nervous about the size of ds... Though I am told that it doesn't hurt any more, which I can well believe, the painful bit is the head and which just hurts (not for long) and I doubt an extra couple of mm would notice in the scheme of things!!!

MoominMama22 · 06/03/2015 19:19

Welcome newbie! faithope , chat moves fast and sometimes I can just keep up but don't necessarily have anything productive to add!

Argh! I had the visit from the health inspectors visitors today and they adamantly told me my due date is 26th March Shock it has never been that. I realise now that must be date based on LMP , my cycles are long and irregular, and if that date made it onto their notes no wonder I've been in an Antenatal class with everyone due so much before me Angry
Annoyed and it meant I was on the back foot for the whole visit and just felt utterly interrogated by them :( so stressed even my boobs were sweating by the end of it. Asking me if I'm looking forward to having the baby etc and what equipment I have. I know they are probably perfectly nice but would anyone else not feel put under pressure?

boomonster I think I'd like to join the Fb group but my email for it is not one I can access if that makes sense, can I just msg you my real name?

I was weighed at my last appt for the first time since booking, ive put on 7 or 8kg , the bulk of that in the last month I think!! She said they don't care about weight watching its more just for if you need anaesthesia.

36 weeks tomorrow!!Grin

skyra13 · 06/03/2015 19:40

MoominMama Do all health visitors come and visit you before hand?

MoominMama22 · 06/03/2015 19:45

skyra no don't think so, I did ask them why me especially (as it put me on edge a bit!) I think it was pretty much a training exercise as there was a student .

skyra13 · 06/03/2015 19:49

I think I would of told them to go away and come back when you have a baby haha! :D

solstice930 · 06/03/2015 19:49

I've put on 2.5 stone so far Blush I'm 35+4 today. Last time I put on just over 2 stone total. But it's entirely my bump and boobs so I don't feel too bad. And I lost the baby weight fairly easily last time (another benefit of breastfeeding! )

Sorry you've had such a rubbish day daholster Glad to hear you're feeling better!

Wineandchoccy · 06/03/2015 19:51

Skyra I'm really hot as well.
I'm sat in my bra and knickers in the babies room in the rocking chair trying to cool down, now there's an image for you all Blush

I bought a brand new gro bag in a charity shop today for £5, it's one of the travel ones, bargain. I also got 3 baby gros still in the packaging for £3 they are size 9-12 month but very cute with zoo animals on them.

Glad you have been able to have a bath RL20

Welcome faithope

solstice930 · 06/03/2015 19:56

They started doing pre-baby HV visits in my council a couple of years ago for all new parents to be. I think it was to help them identify families that may need additional support. I haven't had a visit this time around.

solstice930 · 06/03/2015 19:57

The council, not my council!
