I was kept on the antenatal ward with ds1, just had gel at clinic and went home with ds2 but this time I've been told I'll stay AnniaFausta. Had a crap bishops score with ds1 but one gel still started my labour, was already stretching to 2cm with ds2 and one gel again so they're hoping I will react well this time. Much better to go home but them I had to labour in the car!

I had a free one with a grobag RL20 and bought a groegg with ds2 which I loved. It mainly told me how bloody cold it was when I was up in the night feedig him though Wink being a September baby! I had a bath after ds2 but a shower after ds1, the bath was just plain water. I have got a shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, face wash and moisturiser all in miniature, plus a mini bath lily in mine. Didn't get offered any toiletries in hospital either time.

Sounds like you should just go to bed and get some rest daholster, drink water slowly and try to eat something bland. I felt so sick yesterday, ended up trying to eat and instantly felt better!

I've had tightenings all morning Sairie, not timed them but pretty regular amd they have only been when I've been on my feet which is pretty much 8.15-10.30. Sending weird shooting/tingling feelings down the back of my leg. Now I'm sitting baby is very active but bump is relaxing!

Good luck with drive back Lauren82000 and agree not having coffee on your return is a divorceable offence I reckon!

Finally got my hair cut! Just a trim but haven't had it cut since November and she's taken. Good chunk off. I have a weird issue with making appointments so don't and this morning just thought I'd see if any of the hairdressers near school had a free person Smile

Siarie · 06/03/2015 10:49

Daholster I felt like that a few days, I call them my down days. I'm pretty sure it's related to iron even though my levels keep coming back normal. I think I'm yo-yoing up and down and just happen to get it managed when I have my blood tested. I also have noticed I get this after my little fainting episodes from low blood pressure.

You just feel off right? On those days I sit on the sofa and feel like I my eyes are heavy, I feel kind of sick but not totally sick. My hands feel weak etc, try lying on your left side. Drink lots of water and if you have any iron or vitamins take them with a glass of orange juice if you have it.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/03/2015 10:50

X posts, agree with TinyTear about straws and wipes and undies, I had black ones but didn't fancy disposables!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 06/03/2015 10:56

suitcase! but will put pre-caesarian stuff (dressing gown, slippers, nintendo DS & games, plus baby clothing) in a separate bag and my fiance can bring me the case once we're on the ward.

I'm actually more stressed about the fact I haven't packed "staying at grandparents" bags for my boys yet than mine - I know whatever I need I can send my fiance for :)

Siarie · 06/03/2015 10:57

Lauren I've got a four hour drive this afternoon but DH is driving, I won't drive as since being pregnant my clumsy levels have increased and frankly I just would rather not risk it. I'm a competent driver but when I'm picking up the wrong things in the kitchen to compile my breakfast in the mornings I have to wonder if driving is really the best thing to do when I have someone else willing to do it.

Plus we are exchanging our car this month for the new car, so while it can't be helped if something happens I think lowering the risk is ideal. It's still quite uncomfortable being sat in the car pregnant for that long though I must say!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/03/2015 11:01

We are lucky that my parents live 5 mins away and have our space key EbwyIsUpTheDuff, so can always come and collect bits my boys need!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 06/03/2015 11:06

I have put 2 pairs of pants in a bag for the eldest..... it's a start, right? (I need to put at least 4 days of clothes, just in case!)

MoominMama22 · 06/03/2015 11:07

We have a groegg, orla the owl! Had it up in the sitting room for a few weeks now and its quite an eye opener as to how the temp varies. But mostly, even in our freezing house it says its perfect temp for bubs.
Also got the wee cardboard thing with a grobag so will keep one upstairs and one down. Depends if the light from the Owl thing is annoying.
I think for the bath I will use my elbow. I got a bath and room thermometer from John Lewis and had to send it back because the readings made no sense. At least you can't go too far wrong trusting your elbow!

Speaking of dusposible pants and Hosp bags , I bought some adult nappies thinking they were the way forward ( imagining the last thing I want when sitting with visitors in the house is to think I'm bleeding onto the sofa) but midwife pointed out that Maternity pads aren't just different coz they r bigger than pads- its that they have no nasties, no fragrance or gels or irritants inside ..... Hadn't even thought of that! I guess if your grazed or stitched up at all you don't want anything potentially irritate it.

Hope everyone's feeling a bit better today :)

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 06/03/2015 11:11

I bought cloth pads yesterday - normal ones give me thrush now, they never used to so I must be getting more sensitive in my old age!

BrixtonBunny · 06/03/2015 11:26

Daholster I'm so sorry you've been having such a tough time of late. How many more weeks does your DH have to go work away? Sending hugs your way.

Cinnamon I've realised that I haven't had my hair cut in over two years Blush I just can't decide what I want to do with it so keep putting it off! I don't dye it or anything so I can get away with it... I think! But maybe I should book an appointment!

Lauren82000 · 06/03/2015 11:50

DH is doing the driving, he won't let me drive on the motorway even though I am quite capable.
Period pain has settled but had a few BH randomly spaced so I'm ok I think.

I would ring the mw but they only operate an answer phone service and I wouldn't get a ring back till Monday. Seems silly ringing delivery suite when I'm so far away from the hospital. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on things. Still only 33+2 so baby needs to stay put. Almost tempted to go cervix hunting myself when I get home to check where it is. Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 06/03/2015 11:53

Mine is quite fine and fly away and gets very static when I haven't had it cut in a while BrixtonBunny and going in and out several times a day in the cold doesn't help. It's all one length so could get away with it but it ends up looking ratty after a while! Feels better now.

FiRaffe · 06/03/2015 12:07

Hehe Lauren! I hope the hunt is successful!!!

Bump still really hurts, stupid thing. I hope I can feel better when I relax later. It's our NCT meet up tonight so will be good to catch up with everyone.

daholster · 06/03/2015 12:09

Had another hour of sleep... Just tried sitting up for water and the pain in my bump stopped me in my tracks!!! It's all very bizarre. I feel slightly more alert though.

Thanks for all your advice... Going to try heading downstairs and find something to eat as cinnamon suggested... Wishing I had some Jacobs crackers or something!

Yes siarie very like that but to the point it frightens me I feel so grotty. I have had episodes of being very ill in my lifetime and it's unusual for me not to be able to take it and keep going, I have very rarely felt this down. That's why I wonder whether there is an element of anxiety/stress intertwined with it causing extra symptoms. I'm certainly not depressed but I do have panicky moments thinking about work, money and what needs doing. My iron is low, it was 9 at last count, I have a feeling that might have been worse yesterday since I am so dreadful at remembering to take the tablets (I have for the last 3 days though feeling I'll helps you remember!!!)

I don't feel I want to pack my bag yet because I'm just not ready for him to arrive. As much as I'd love to have him and cuddle him there's so much that I want to get done first.

Brixton he's away for another four weeks after this week, though he says the project is behind... That's tough I'm afraid, as it is it finishes when I am 38+3, they can have him working from home after that as far as I am concerned!!!!

Hope everyone's contractions settle, there must be something in the air!

Ahh I need a drink and a wee! we're stuck in traffic, not even made it to the M6 yet. Certainly going to hop on the M6 toll so we can get to the services faster. Wink

Oh dear lauren! No urine dipped yesterday was ok. Have eaten a hot cross bun and going to try some noodles. The bump pain is so weird, doesn't contract though just has hard painful side, probably where he's pressing near my stoma or something, output has been slow. But yesterday was cephalic (head down) 4/5 so he's in the right place - or at least he was!!!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 06/03/2015 12:58

hope you feel better soon, daholster

and lauren - hopefully you've found somewhere to pee now!
more than 5 contractions (even randomly spaced ones) in an hour mean you should go to get checked. So keep count and an eye on the time if it happens again

daholster · 06/03/2015 13:00

Hm. Something is up, (tmi alert for all people with normal bowels!) stoma is pouring out dark green liquid as soon as I have started eating. Hmm I've either got a virus (though bloods were ok yesterday) or ds is irritating/squishing my small ingesting near where it has to exit or something. Maybe this will provide some relief from the bump pain? That would be nice...

daholster · 06/03/2015 13:01

*small intestine!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 06/03/2015 13:06

sounds unpleasant, daholster

is it worth contacting a doctor?
