I cant read Close Caboo without immediately saying sweet baboo in my best Sally voice! Haha, completely OT there.

Hmm, my bambino is definitely not ready to get into position. Hiccups are definitely up high and I cant work out whether its his bum or head but every evening my bump goes all lopsided and I have a massive hard lump on the right side. Ive tried poking him to see if he moves but he just stays put!

Im not sure whether I can claim to have SPD, certainly not suffering as much as some of you on here! Going to have to speak to the MW next week. It hurts to walk and getting up from chairs/the sofa but there is no grinding pain. Pain is definitely all at the front.

33wks today Grin

IvegotaCaveTroll · 05/03/2015 18:04

Yay for turning Lauren!!

Lauren82000 · 05/03/2015 18:04

Well just had a load of wiggly movements low down must be doing the YMCA in there! Or it's feet are by it's head! Still not much movement up top but I've had a hard something right at the top all afternoon. Too small and pointy for a head or bum so no idea what that could be. Blush

skyra13 · 05/03/2015 18:16

I have one of these I think there is a newer version out now but I got this from charity shop for a 5pound better then paying 50pound www.amazon.co.uk/Close-Parent-CLBC180-Carrier-Charcoal/dp/B0013NDZGY seems good given it a wash and easy to use.

The hiccups from bump now feel like they are in my vagina so she must be really low down now!!

minipie · 05/03/2015 18:20

lauren sounds like we are having similar days. My bump has been rock solid for most of today and I've been worried something might kick off soon. Also had a few people saying "you can't have 4 weeks left" due to my enormous bump size! Hoping it calms down this evening.

londonlivvy · 05/03/2015 18:23

can I join the rock solid and sore bump club lauren and minipie? it's been a v painful afternoon. I'm only 35+1 so shouldn't be anything really going on yet.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/03/2015 18:27

I always thought spd was pubic bone but heard so many people recently talking about hip pain with spd so assumed that I was wrong. The pain in my pubic bone comes and goes when when it comes it's definitely getting worse, still doesn't make me need to take pain killers so it can't be too bad!

Had a bad afternoon with kids and now I'm really grumpy and I'm going out babysitting in half an hour. They still haven't bloody gone home despite these last two supposed to be leaving at 4.45 AngrySad. Just heard dh's bike so that will make me feel a tiny bit better, but will literally have no time just with my children today Sad. Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!

Lauren82000 · 05/03/2015 18:34

Plenty of room in the solid bump club London and Mini. Just had some pokes at the top and another few BH so sat back down again. Getting hungry now but everyone else is still full or picking at leftover buffet food and I need more than that. Confused

RL20 · 05/03/2015 18:36

Hmm I think baby is lying sideways again. Currently have hiccup sort of movements in my left hip, and movement on my right side! Oh dear. If I'm right, that'll be that he's gone from sideways, to breech, to head down, now back to sideways! ShockGrin 34 week midwife appointment next week though so see what she thinks, and he may turn by then anyway, hopefully!

smogsville · 05/03/2015 18:53

RL I've always found Mothercare stuff washes really well, no shrinkage.

Yes that's a great size babiecakes DD was 6.13 and she came out at 39 wks.

That's nice Banana. I must say I'm quite brazen and just ask people to move straightaway these days Blush

Cavetroll of course you should believe the obs. Medical professionals aren't known for sugar coating. Sorry you're having such a painful time of it.

Lauren great news on the turn.

Sorry for all the sore bumps. Mine is ok - today. It defo gets worse when I overeat so ATM is v much in my gift to keep under control Wink

PenguinPoser · 05/03/2015 18:59

SPD specifically refers to the symphsis pubis which is the midline joint at the front of the pelvis - so you're right cinnamon. It just seems to be used interchangeably with PGP (pelvic girdle pain) which can be hips, lower back etc as ivegotacavetroll said. Either way - it hurts! My pain is mostly front middle and makes turning over in bed impossible without major effort and moaning! Sorry to hear so many of us are suffering now! I've been taking paracetamol sometimes but it doesn't really help much. My bump is also very sore like the skin around my belly button feels sore to touch last few days.

RL I get the baby hiccups next to my left hip too - baby definitely head down with back on the left, and I get movements on the right too as arms and legs over that way, so yours might be the same.

I've been filling in a baby record book about pregnancy etc have got up to the bit about "when I was born" now so had to stop! Will be good to look back on in the future Smile. Waiting for my mince and dumplings to cook too - hungry!

FiRaffe · 05/03/2015 19:20

Hehe sounds good on the book Penguin. My best friend bought us one but haven't finished filling it in yet... havent really done any of it other than our names!

Thankfully not too bad on the pelvic pain, but my wrist is really is killing with tendonitus, which they think had been caused by relaxin hormone. The fun of pregnancy

mswibble · 05/03/2015 19:24

Ive realised that we dont have a first aid kit at home, except a few ancient plasters and a manky bottle of milk of magnesia! Do you have a well stocked first aid box? What do you think are essentials, thinking especially with the baby, apart from one of those baby thermometers that you put in the ear I cant really think of anything baby specific.

We're having a pizza tonight, so bad! Just an oven one from the supermarket but I seem to be in a junk food funk at the mo! Ive consciously cut out a lot of crap so am having loads of fruit rather than chocolate and other naughtiness but we're both so exhausted when we get home neither of us can be arsed to cook!

Heyitsholly · 05/03/2015 19:30

My baby must be near the back as my bump feels squidgy today but midwife said its nearly engaged and should be soon so who knows!
Had my first antenatal class today. So glad I made hubby come ,he needed persuading but I wouilkd have been the only one on my own. He found pelviuc floor discussions hilarious. Men!

penguin Im up north in Manchester ,weird how many southerners there are!

Work still haven't got a replacement. More fool them! I'm disconnecting and finishing paperwork. 4weeks 1 day working to go. I must be mad!

ChickenMe · 05/03/2015 19:32

Baby record book sounds good. I started a journal to give to my baby when they are older.
Sorry to all of those in pain. I feel lucky to have escaped without major pain so far but God am I uncomfortable. I made a start on the garden but i had to keep sitting. So much bladder pressure.

We have a first aid box but will have to update it with baby things-I have no idea either! At the mo just adult painkillers, plasters and savlon! And the cat's flea drops.

mswibble · 05/03/2015 19:34

Im another ooop norf penguin! In Bolton but originally from North Manchester.

skyra13 · 05/03/2015 19:43

I to need to invest in a first aid kit got some old plasters and tape and that's it!! If ever cut my self just wash it an stick bog roll on it lol!

PenguinPoser · 05/03/2015 20:00

I have a first aid kit in my car (used to be in St. John ambulance when I was a student Blush) not sure how much would be useful for a baby though! I suppose I have some saline and swabs incase of any injury! And thermometer etc. Plan on getting some calpol and Infacol at some point but probably not until after baby is here.

mswibble don't feel guilty about a pizza at this stage, sure baby will love it!
heyitsholly yey for starting antenatal classes and yes more fool work if they don't replace you in time!! Not your problem!

AnniaFausta · 05/03/2015 20:03

Evening ladies! Have had a really over-emotional day - felt tearful at lunchtime and most of the afternoon, although didn't actually burst into tears. Everything just felt like a lot of hard work and people being unnecessarily difficult. Baby has also been quite quiet on the movement front today, although yesterday they were all over the place, so I am assuming that it was a quieter day after wearing themselves out - I'm still getting plenty of regular spontaneous movement, it's just noticeably less than yesterday, which was noticeably more than normal. If that even makes sense.

Definitely starting to wobble like a weeble over here. I've got to be honest, I'm not wholly convinced. Any sense of dignity I might have retained has gone right out of the window.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/03/2015 20:19

Dh banned thermometers from our house when my boys were babies as he said they cause too much worry mswibble! I have a first aid kit for work but mostly all I use is plasters. Can't put any creams etc in it which id use on my own kids.

FiRaffe · 05/03/2015 20:30

I need to update our first aid kit. Also need to put it in one place rather than scattered around the house! Are the ear thermometers the best option or the forehead ones?

cinnamongreyhound · 05/03/2015 20:31

Forehead ones are rubbish ime!

TinyTear · 05/03/2015 20:39

For the first 8 weeks you can't give anything but then we have:

Calpol
Nurofen
Piriton
Cough syrup
Olbas oil kids
Boots saline nose spray
Snot sucker (a bulb one)
Anbesol
Teething gel

We have the Braun in ear thermometer and it's great. It's the same they use in my doctor's surgery

TinyTear · 05/03/2015 20:40

And metanium for the worse nappy rashes

Hidingthefear · 05/03/2015 20:42

Just a quick check in, had a quick read but I was 11 pages behind! Been training my replacement this week so couldn't mumsnet while I was working :(
I'm a northerner :D Lancashire lass :) (although most would say it's north manchester)
Feel like I've been kicked in the pubic bone, seems worse when I've tried to walk the dog. Friend gave me her exercise ball today so Been rolling about on that while I watch TV, made my achey ribs feel much better.
The record book sounds lovely! I started a photo book on photobox with bump pictures and poems and pictures of family how they look now. Going to add baby pictures once he's here then order it.
hope babie is doing well still!
hope everyone is generally well and I didn't miss too much
