And my DD loved to be forward facing and would go "brrrr brrr brrr" happilly... when tired, she fell asleep and we swapped her round to face us for a better nap...

She has no hip issues and had no 'overstimulation' issues when on the carrier...

Siarie · 05/03/2015 14:10

Oh my gosh, Moomin please let me know what the midwife says about those weird sparkles. I just noticed it happen today to me too when I was stood up! Freaky like a strange sparkly vortex.

Siarie · 05/03/2015 14:11

A quick google, Think i'm going to go test my BP! lol

Squidge14 · 05/03/2015 14:13

I'm another Londoner! Although SE/Kent borders!

daholster sorry for all your rubbish luck, hope the rest of the week passes by without any drama for you and hope all ok at the hospital.

babie updated the FB page, she is still on the morphine drip and baby Sarah is in neonatal as she was struggling to breath and drink at the same time but they are hoping to be reunited soon so fingers crossed for them.

I feel so full up today, definitely being crushed from the inside...why have I still got 4 weeks left of work Sad

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 05/03/2015 14:24

yes, check your bp!! sight disturbances can be a sign of preeclampsia!

Lauren82000 · 05/03/2015 14:28

I'm having a very BH day today and my back aches. DH calls them Branson pickles as he forgets the name. Smile Funeral wasn't too bad, I blubbed a bit when the music started. But overall not been a bad day so far. Ready to leave the pub now though but can't till everyone else leaves. Hmm

solstice930 · 05/03/2015 14:36

Penguin I used a Moby wrap last time, plus a second hand Baby Bjorn. The BB was fine for my daughter, but I couldn't wear it very long because it hurt my back. I bought a Beco when she was a year old and it was soooo much more comfortable, plus you can do back carries. I just bought a second hand Connecta for the new arrival, but will use the Moby wrap for the first few weeks. I like the easy of the structured carriers, but the wraps are lovely for newborn cuddles.

Wineandchoccy · 05/03/2015 14:44

penguin I'm in Lancashire.

Lovely news about babie and she is a good weight as well.

I'm uncomfortable driving today my bump seems all to one side, only 3 more weeks of 'normal' work though then I am working from home for the last 2 weeks.

Lauren82000 · 05/03/2015 14:46

Hmm beginning to wonder if I should start timing these BH that last one took my breath away. Confused

skyra13 · 05/03/2015 15:20

minipie They must of been high to do something like that! Don't know how they could live with them selfs.

Are most of us down south? I am originally from Birmingham but moved to live with my Husband in Kent am about an hour from London! :D
I don't actually venture into London though the tube freaks me out! Have had a few days meeting friends up there as one of our friends owns a fancy dress shop in the centre of London.

Yes any changes in vision I was told to contact consultant as could be to do with pre-eclampsia so do get it checked better to be safe then sorry.

PenguinPoser · 05/03/2015 15:37

Thanks everyone! You're all fountains of knowledge and experience Smile think I will stick with the close caboo initially as we already have it and if needed can get another one later on, suppose if baby doesn't like a sling then there's no point!

Lauren glad the day is going ok and hope your Braxton hicks settle down!

Moomin and Siarie I sometimes get little sparkles infront of my eyes if I get too hot in the shower, normally a sign I need to get out and sit down or start feeling faint. Worth getting BP checked as well though definitely.

Congratulations to babiecakes! Starting to think I might join fb group, don't want to miss out on baby announcements!

I am most definitely northern compared to everyone else - maybe closer to you moomin? Won't say exactly where but I'm in North East area. London is an adventure to me!

mswibble · 05/03/2015 15:37

Branson pickles?! Haha, that made me proper laugh out loud! Lol indeed!

mswibble · 05/03/2015 15:39

Did anyone else get the bargainous TotsBots papoozle when it was down to £20? I got one and I've tried it on once, its more like a bamboozle! Did not have a clue what I was doing with it, definitely going to have to get OH to assist the first time I attempt using it. There's like 50m of fabric to wrap round yourself!

FiRaffe · 05/03/2015 16:00

Ooh slings is still on my 'to investigate' list. There is a sling library locally so might try once baby is here.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/03/2015 16:20

Been there and done it all RL20! He was 3 when we got together and it's been a tough ride with his mum but never with him until last 6 months. He always taken being told of by me etc and accepted me as a parental figure but his mum hates that Dh and I have made it work and always tried to tell him that his brothers were HALF brothers which we've never distinguished between. Any time you want to pm me about it feel free, a decade of ups and downs has taught me a lot Wink

PenguinPoser I'm not in London but not northern. Don't have any experience of babybjorn I'm afraid.

Get well soon MoominMama22!

Glad it went well Lauren82000, well as good as it can!

Lauren82000 · 05/03/2015 16:26

Mswibbles I got a papoozle it's easier to put it on someone than put it on yourself. I have managed though but it looked a bit baggy on me. I'm sure it'll look better when there is a baby sat in it.

DH's brother was in the car when I said I was feeling Branston Pickley and he thought I was having cravings. Grin

Everyone I've spoken to today can't believe I have 7 weeks left. I've been chuckled at a few times with a raised eyebrow and a 'Do you really think you'll last that long?'

RL20 · 05/03/2015 16:56

Cinnamon I completely know what you mean. It sounds very similar! She has no other children as if she did i'm sure she would be completely different...possibly. A few weeks back partners daughter came to stay and we were trying to talk to her about baby, just mentioning little things etc, and her dad mentioned the word brother, and she said something along the lines of "no, half brother" correcting him. Which has obviously been taught by her mum as we've never said that and wasn't planning to either! When she does question things, she says "when is your baby going to be here" rather than when is my brother going to be here. I feel like her mum is trying to disconnect her from the baby already and he's not even here yet. Which makes me feel sad for her as I don't want her to miss out on anything. As you said, she's always been on holidays with us, and include her in everything and take her to family parties. Everything you would do with your child, we always try to squeeze into the weekends we have her.
It's just her mum Hmm Will probably take you up on that PM offer, thanks!

Lauren hope you're BH's have calmed down!

Penguin I'm the same as Cinnamon (I think that's who said it!) not a Londoner but not northern either. I'm in the midlands.

Bought some lovely bits from Mothercare today and had a proper look round with my mum.
Have been buying all 0-3 months clothes, not sure why really, expecting him to be a chunk but you never know I suppose! So I finally got something for the hospital bag, for him to wear to come home in Grin It's up to 10lbs so he will perhaps only wear it a few times but it's lovely. A grey velour all in one with a matching hat, a giraffe picture on the front that says "one day I'll be tall" (had to buy it because his dad is over 6ft, lol). Also a cute soft toy with a slight rattle from the Early Learning Centre in there, which is the first teddy I've bought for him aside from the one I made a few months ago.
They've got some lovely clothes in there and I don't find them too overpriced (well, I might change my mind on that once I'm only receiving maternity allowance pay!).

Was also looking at the Fisher Price woodsy bouncer which I had saw online. It has a gentle vibration and the owl toy plays a short tune when pulled. I really like it and it's only £33.
There was also something called a Sit Me Up Cosy which look amazing! Its a big cushioned round "bed" that also turns into a soft mat for tummy time, and then can be built up as a soft prop to help baby sit up against, obviously when he's a little bit older. I thought it was great at £40 for a 3 in 1. I'm useless at posting links on here but you can find it by typing ELC Blossom Farm Pete Pony Sit Me Up Cosy (wow that was a mouthful) on Mothercare website Grin

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 05/03/2015 16:58

I'm Welsh but in the midlands now

MoominMama22 · 05/03/2015 17:00

Thanks for well wishes

Aw thanks brix for passing on babiecakes news , bless!! that's lovely and a fair size too.
fi I have a Moby wrap from my SIL and it seems great. Loads of videos online for it. I was also given a more structured type sling but I can't imagine using it it would be like putting baby in a bag. But its hard to try these things with a bump in the way! Slings and changing tables two things you should consider trying out before you have a bump. Duuh!

peng I'm NE.... NE Scotland that is!

siarie I've had the sparkles a few times normally when bending or getting up too quickly . any visual disturbances can be a warming for high BP. ( I have really bad floaters constantly now Sad) but my BP was fine today and I think I was just dehydrated and faint from all the 'D&V' as my midwife politely put it. She said to take it easy as I have a bug.

Bleurgh

BananaToast · 05/03/2015 17:22

Just got on a very packed tube and a wonderful lady in front of me got me a seat: "would you like to sit down? I'm sure one of these lovely gentlemen would be happy to offer you a seat? (louder) Would anyone mind offering this pregnant lady standing here a seat?" About four people jumped up - never had so much choice over where to sit Grin

Think I might have a bit of pelvic girdle pain developing. When I walk it's a bit painful at the back and bottom of my pelvis on the right side, sort of deep in my right bumcheek. I thought SPD etc was only at the front and tended to be central/both sides but when I googled earlier it seems like some people get pain on just one side. Really hope it's just a phase and disappears soon, I don't fancy having to walk awkwardly for the next month and a half!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/03/2015 17:36

Good on her BananaToast!

IvegotaCaveTroll · 05/03/2015 17:39

Banana SPD ( symphysis pubis dysfunction) is a part of PGP (pelvic girdle pain) which affects specifically the pubic joint at the front- pregnancy makes what should be a non mobile joint move which allows it to open but it hurts.
U can get PGP pains anywhere in the pelvis- with me it's my sacroiliac joints which are the problem.
It sounds like ur having sacroiliac issues too.

Sadly there's not much that can be done.
I'm taking tramadol due to chronic pain anyway which my obs reassures me is safe. But I do not recommend the guilt I feel about it- I basically cannot move without painkillers - this will be my last and first pregnancy purely because I cannot cope with the back pain and the guilt of being on medication.
I wish I could believe my obstetricians reassurance!

IvegotaCaveTroll · 05/03/2015 17:41

On a nicer note- people let me jump the queue in the post office today as I was sat on the floor! I think it was because they were women!!

Lauren82000 · 05/03/2015 17:41

Thanks ladies, they have calmed a bit now but still getting the odd one. not nearly as regularly as I was so panic over. I am rather happy though as I'm getting hiccups deep in my pelvis right by my cervix so this baby has finally turned!!!Smile I was beginning to panic that with all these BH something was kicking off before baby was in place. It's not been helped by everyone I meet telling me I'll go early and with my dream last night its still a bit too early for an appearance. Need at least another 3-4 weeks cooking so I don't lose out on my Easter holidays before my mat leave kicks in. Wink

BananaToast · 05/03/2015 17:47

IvegotaCaveTroll that's pretty much what I thought from having a read around earlier. I had thought that SPD and PGP were the same thing, rather than one being a subclass of the other. If it carries on at this level I won't need painkillers as it's manageable, just uncomfortable. Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse!

Glad baby has turned Lauren, I love feeling hiccups low down - very reassuring that baby is still the right way up!
