chicken yup you pretty much covered it all! I'm sure there was something about "spoiling" baby with cuddles too!
boo how big is your village? Would it be worth trying to set something up? Would there be other mums appreciative of not having to travel? Even just informally at each others houses.

skyra13 · 03/03/2015 19:18

Chillyegg Everything hurts when I bend over lol My baby is head down and partly engaged from what my midwife has told me Shock

TheBooMonster · 03/03/2015 19:25

it's big enough, it has three first schools and a middle school, so it may as well be a town, and it sounds like the breakfast had been well attended whilst it was here but she said something about funding for the building they were using or something. I'm probably going to have to bully someone into driving me to a few sessions at the hub or shudder get a taxi) so I can find some other mums from here....

Everyone seems to have nice cravings magnums and cream eggs!!

I have craving for cold toast with cold butter and plastic cheese on it also cold out of fridge, you know the stuff they put on burgers at mac d's lol Blush Since 3rd tri I have to have it for breakfast!

Before that it was anything orange flavoured and I hate orange lol and spicy wings from KFC normally can't eat anything spicy either but love them since being pregnant. Baby seems to enjoy all the bad things!

TheBooMonster · 03/03/2015 19:34

eurgh skyra plastic cheese?!! I can't judge... I had an entire tub of coleslaw for an afternoon snack... I couldn't get enough of tomatoes initially, now just the sight of sun dried or slow roasted tomatoes turns my stomach Shock

skyra13 · 03/03/2015 19:45

I feel ashamed haha lol wish I was craving chocolate!

PenguinPoser · 03/03/2015 19:48

Oh gosh RL what an awful time you're having with your flat Sad I really hope you can get it sorted. Not surprised you're a bit stressed and hormonal. And with the names too especially if your DP isn't coming up with many ideas. Brew to keep you warm - hope you're doing ok without the heating and hot water? Confused I would be kicking off about it now! Also yes you're right there's always one at things like your antenatal class - she sounds like a treat!

Boo that's really rubbish about the breast feeding breakfast Angry you sound really committed to it though which I think is going to be half the battle, but it would be nice to have the extra support.

Hehe skyra plastic cheese - if we had it in I would be eating it too. Love cheese! Just making some tea a sausage and veg thing and have put cheesy mash on the top which is less cheesy than intended as I ate half the cheese whilst waiting for the potatoes to cook Grin

ChickenMe · 03/03/2015 19:56

Ha Moomin she also said that she "spoiled" OH. I said "how" and she said "by cuddling him loads". I said that isn't spoiling. (My OH is a cuddle monster even now so it's hardly a bad thing.) So I bet Mil had that book too!

Nunkie · 03/03/2015 19:58

Evening All!

I'm with you on the KFC spicy wings skyra! (Tho I like them all the time anyway!) Chuckling at the specifics of your toast and dirty-cheese having to be cold! :0D

Everyone was expecting me to get some really strange cravings because of some of all weird food that goes into my mouth on a day-to-day basis anyway. The opposite is true tho - I've gone really boring and can't seem to eat enough baked beans!

Talking of strange food... just finished watching 'Childbirth: All or Nothing'. Now why the hell, of all the stuff you could do with it (including throwing it in the bin!) would you put placenta in a fruit smoothie? It's like adding raw mince to a trifle!!

ChickenMe · 03/03/2015 19:59

Haha plastic cheese is so wrong skyra but I feel better about my Supernoodle craving I had earlier on! Nuclear food. Also peperamis.

skyra13 · 03/03/2015 20:06

Oh at the start I had to have noddles all the time with a cup a soup mixed into them lol Grin

You know the placenta in the smoothie didn't bother me as much as the women carrying the placenta around and seasoning it like a chicken in a bag!!! Lol very odd!

MoominMama22 · 03/03/2015 20:30

I'm kind of disappointed I've not had mad cravings. I used to get weird food cravings anyway, but I was so sick for so long I went off chocolate Shock and just wanted bland stuff.
skyra Yeah if I had to eat it I think bunging it in the blender would be least offensive, it might be "raw meat" but can't imagine wanting to fry it up with some onions.Confused
At our ante natal class the midwife told us that the placenta is packed with estrogen and that's why there's benefits from eating it, avoiding hormone dip/blues etc. Actually made me tempted but I don't think Im gutsy enough to ask for a doggy bag to take it home in...
Is there other ways you can up your oestrogen?

mswibble · 03/03/2015 20:33

Oh RL im sorry to hear about your house woes! Its truly awful living in such chaos so you have my sympathy!
And I think you're right and pregnancy affecting hair dye, I think I might try stripping this awful stripy purple stuff off and just leaving it au naturel until after the birth.

Do any ladies have SPD? I thought I had maybe pulled something as I got up from the sofa a bit too enthusiastically on Sunday and ive been in pain ever since! Have done a bit of googling and SPD was mentioned. Feels like ive been booted inbetween the legs and walking is really quite painful.

PenguinPoser · 03/03/2015 20:56

mswibble I have has SPD since getting up one day when I was about 31 weeks. Front of pelvis pain right in the middle and also worse on moving my left hip/leg. Walking is painful as is getting up from sitting/lying down. Turning over in bed is worst and can't kick/push anything or do anything involving standing on one leg! Anyway enough moaning but you definitely have my sympathy if you have it too! As does anyone else. At least it should get better when baby is born.

Hmm moomin that's interesting about the oestrogen. If that is the case there are phyto-oestrogens in things like soya. Although I'm unsure if anything interfering with hormones could affect breast feeding potentially, as you can't use the oestrogen containing contraception if bf.

Hehe squatting... "I wasn't supposed to put beef in the trifle!!!"

smogsville · 03/03/2015 20:59

RL you're being remarkably patient with the house stuff. I'd be (probably fruitlessly) stamping feet and throwing tants by now.

Agree Chicken cuddles isn't spoiling, just normal life.

No mad cravings here. I can eat a whole jar of cornichons in one go but that's nothing to do with preg.

Am nearly home from my class and feeling so much better for it, much less stiff and achey. Hooray. Cup of tea and bed please DH I am ringing my imaginary bell tinkle tinkle Wink

Oh and in other news bladder control getting so much worse. Nearly did a wee on last bit of walk from tube to office this morning. Had to focus really hard to keep it in. Sigh!

mswibble · 03/03/2015 21:22

Eek penguin that does sound like me! Getting up from my chair at work is really painful, literally takes my breath away! have you had to do anything or is it just something to manage?

Ive already had people warning me about spoiling the baby Hmm and fussing over it. Hmmph, personally I cannot wait for the cuddles to begin!

Nunkie · 03/03/2015 21:28

LOL, Squatting, I shall try not to think about the beefy trifle as I tuck into my dinner! :0D

My worst fear re eating a placenta (because I would definitely go savoury!) is that you fry it up, bite into it and find something a bit crunchy or gritty, like you do with low quality meat. Then you sit there gagging and wondering 'What the hell was that?? Whatever it was, it's been sitting inside me for 9 months!!'

Agreed that keeping it hanging off the baby and seasoning it was possibly even weirder tho. Although, as DP said as we watched, it could have actually resulted in a happier baby though not for the reasons the mother thought: more because she herself was reassured and calmed by doing it, and he supposed that that might pass on to the baby somehow. Which I suppose is a good point.

(Think I'll skip that one tho :0)

Smogs, I can empathise. I only have to bend forwards for my bladder to go into a state of revolt at the mo. You end up doing your pelvic floors religiously several times a day whatever, because it's the only way to clench the wee in at this point! :0D

smogsville · 03/03/2015 21:50

Nunkie I've been bad and not bothered with pelvic floor as having section so it's probably all my own fault.

On that happy note, goodnight all Blush

MoominMama22 · 03/03/2015 21:51

Has anyone else been pretty lazy with their pelvic floors?
I had militant physiotherapost (vile woman!) Who told me I had incredibly weak pelvic floor and I was pretty much beyond help because I couldn't feel the muscles through my stomach when I was tightening.I didn't even know what I was feeling for it feels so far away from my stomach muscles?
So I've tried but I'm lucky if I remember to do them every other day. I can hold in wee fine but when I'm being violently sick sometimes a little bit comes out Blush

AnniaFausta · 03/03/2015 21:53

mswibble - try putting a cold pack on your buttock, as it sounds like it might be similar to the gluteal tension I've got. My osteo recommended trying to ice it 3-5 times a day, but even once or twice has seemed to make a difference (not to mention moving the pain upwards to the buttock rather than the top of the groin, and thus making walking easier if not always less painful). She reckons it's a 'warning' muscular spasm that we can stop turning into full-blown SPD so long as I watch posture/seated positions and take things easy.

I am still refusing to believe that I am heavily pregnant despite the fact I'm starting to wobble like a weeble later on in the day.

Antenatal class this morning was good, starting to get a bit of bonding going with the other women on the course which is nice. One lady is, however, going to be having a c-section in the next fortnight - she only found out yesterday, and was a bit shocked, poor love.

Lauren82000 · 03/03/2015 21:53

I don't know about SPD but my hips have been terribly painful the last few days. I now have a sciatic type pain in my left leg too. I was sat on the couch before and when I got up it felt like something popped in my inner thigh now when I walk my leg feels like it's going to give way! Confused Can't lie on my left side either as my hip hurts too much and my right side only hurts slightly less. Wish I could sleep on my back as that would solve the problem. Feels like I'm falling apart and that's just my leg pains I haven't even gotten onto the bump and back pain. Sad 7 weeks just feels like forever and where the hell is DH with my paracetamol and gaviscon? I asked for some nearly an hour ago! Angry Didn't realise I'd have to wait for him to need the loo again.

IvegotaCaveTroll · 03/03/2015 21:54

Good night everyone- il get reading for my usual lying wake for hours and when finally sleep waking for hourly toilet trips.

Funny thing last night my DH and dog did synchronised snoring around 3am- exactly snoring simultaneously! Would normally kick them for snoring but it was so cute!!

Hmm Iv lost it haven't i?

MoominMama22 · 03/03/2015 21:56

She was quite young and quite smug and I found myself hoping she has full faecal incontinence when she comes to have a baby.
I dont think I've done anything to deserve my supposed "weak" pelvic floor I don't know anyone who did kegels before pregnancy.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/03/2015 21:56

I was very successful at bf 2 babies without attachment parenting and genuinely believe that many women are put off by the idea that if you bf your baby will need to be attached to your breast every moment of every day until you wean them. Both of mine very quickly settled into a 3hrly feeding pattern (not enforced by me). I fed them when they were hungry but not at every cry and didn't cosleep which a lot of women also think is necessary. Haven't read the womanly art of breastfeeding though.

I had a tommee tippee ones that went from red to yellow RL20 but they went yellow ridiculously cool and I found my lip touched on food much more effective! Your fellow participants sound delightful Hmm

That sucks TheBooMonster!

Dh and I had super noodles for tea ChickenMe Blush

I thought spd was more hips mswibble but not 100% sure, I get pain in my pubic bone, it's almost burning pain but very sharp. I had it much worse with ds1&2 which could be due to me being heavier or I'm hoping that perhaps running has helped. I think vacuuming, pushing things with your feet to move them makes it worse and that you should swing both legs together out of bed, the car etc to help. Dh told me when I had ds1 not to listen to anyone and give him a cuddle whenever I wanted to. I do think it's important for your sanity later on to have a baby that can be put down but when they're tiny they're too scrumptious to put down too often Wink
