babiecakes good luck for Wednesday when you meet your little girl.

I love your scan picture penguin

I'm working from home today but I'm skiving for 1/2 hour while I dye my hair because I thought if I happen to go into labour early I do not want my grey hair on the photos!
DH painted my toenails yesterday as well because I can't reach, I think he missed his vocation he has done a very neat job Grin

Did loads of batch cooking yesterday I made 2 x bolognaise sauces, chicken fajita filling, pork casserole, veg curry pastys and today the slow cooker is on with mince to make 2 cottage pies.

skyra13 · 02/03/2015 13:20

Good luck babiecakes everything crossed for you.

Never thought of doing fajita fillings and freezing it what a good idea!

I have got to cook a Mexican night for about 8 people in 2 weeks time not looking forward to it with the back ache when standing in kitchen all day! It's for DH birthday just hoping little one stays where she is supposed to be :)

StuntNun · 02/03/2015 13:30

Is anyone else having a lot of contractions? I'm having three sets a day at the minute: morning, lunchtime and evening. I usually only have two to six contractions but they last a long time and they're quite painful. I'm wondering whether I should pack my hospital bag but I'm only 32 weeks today and my other babies were born at 40+1, 40+1 and 41 weeks so I wouldn't really expect to go early.

MoominMama22 · 02/03/2015 13:30

Ooooh Cuddles with your baby soon babiecakes! Hope everything goes smoothly on Wednesday

MoominMama22 · 02/03/2015 13:35

Stuntnun, I would get a bag at least semi together. Mine isn't all there but I've been adding bits and pieces and it puts my mind at rest to know its there and can be symbolically grabbed if we need to jump in the car in the night for any reason. Even if it might be useless haha
Don't know what to advise about the contractions themselves because I'm new at this . Confused I have painful tightenings every day but not really in sets and I'm pretty sure I'll know the difference when the real ones come along.
Smile

Squidge14 · 02/03/2015 13:37

Hi Ladies,

Phew, finally caught up from middle of thread 11!! Been busy this past week or so, we finally exchanged on the house last week (yay!!) bu tnot completing until 31st March as the seller is moving area and doesn't want to pull her daughters out of their current school before the end of term, which I can understand, it also gives us a little bit longer to get everything sorted, but leaves us very tight for time when we move in! Oh well at least we will have the house and everything else will fall into place, the house is in good condition so if it came to it we can leave it as it is and do it up as we go along, it would have just been nice to move in to a completely ready house!

Had MW apt last Friday, caught up on my measurements (which means I've grown 5cm in 2 weeks Shock) baby now back to back...grrrr! so lots of time on the ball and leaning forward, I am the worst for slouching on the sofa or watching tele in bed, that'll teach me Grin

For any of you interested the new series of One Born Every Minute starts next Tuesday...personally I can't wait as I love that programme even when I'm not with child!

Another one not sleeping great, up for the toilet a lot, and tossing and turning from one side to the other, OH also says my arm twitches a lot in my sleep Confused only 6 weeks left until mat leave, with 1 weeks holiday to move before hand...

Lovely picture penguin I snapped a still from our 4D scan of bubba's little foot as it was the cutest thing I'd ever seen and I loved it!

Squidge14 · 02/03/2015 13:39

Sorry cross posted - good luck babiecakes hope everything goes perfectly for you! You must be excited knowing you will be cuddling your baby in 48 hours!!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/03/2015 13:39

Sorry to hear that ChickenMe and IveGotaCaveTroll! Really sucks to feel so ill all the time.

Fab pic PenguinPoser!

Scary and exciting together Babiecakes11! Hope all goes well for you and keep up up to date when you can.

minipie · 02/03/2015 13:47

babiecakes wow, best of luck on Wednesday, so glad you have managed to get to 36 weeks that's amazing Smile. Do you know if you are likely to be able to have the baby on the ward and straight home or if she will need a little stay in SCBU?

Um yes StuntNun do pack a bag at least with the basics. I'm a big believer in Sods Law so packing a bag makes it less likely you'll go early Grin (I hadn't packed a bag when DD arrived out of the blue at 34 weeks)

boo good luck with the nap! Naps are hit and miss with us too, not sure if I want her to give it up (as she might sleep more at night) or not!?

35+2 today, scan tomorrow!

TinyTear · 02/03/2015 13:52

Goof luck Babie!!!!

RL20 · 02/03/2015 13:54

Good news on your scan brummagem Grin

Squatting RE the weight thing, I also thought the same about myself.
My bump still isn't huge but is measuring correctly and have also been told he has long legs Grin doesn't take after me there!
I don't really feel like I've put weight on anywhere else, or at least not as much as I probably thought I would, but I do have stretch marks on inner thighs now so that tells me different!
As long as you feel like you're eating enough, (and I think they say a few more calories in third trimester, don't they?) then try not to worry. If baby is all ok and you feel healthy then hopefully everything is ok!

Banana Happy 33 weeks! Me too Grin
Yep 9 weeks at the most! It's scarily flying by so far!!
I'm starting to think more and more about giving birth and scaring myself Confused

Skyra, not mad I suppose, but brave! It's probably not something I would want to do but who knows how I would actually feel at that stage.

Chickenme - Bin juice lol! I also say the same thing Grin Can't stand bin juice and end up giving the bin a bubble bath every few weeks Grin
I'm also in nesting mode today - well obviously not right the minute but have thought if we do end up having to move before baby is here, we need as little clutter as possible and have gone on a throwing away spree Shock 2 bin bags full so far. I love the feeling of throwing clutter away! Things can't be given away/sold on gumtree anyway.

Wow babiecakes good luck!! Not long until you meet your little one now Grin

Had my whooping cough jab today finally. First time cancelled it because I had a bad cold and the nurse said it could make me feel slightly worse, second time cancelled it last week due panicking about reduced movements and ended up going hospital on that day.
Arm is starting to hurt/ache now. But like the nurse said, "it's for baby anyway, so you can suffer!" LolShockGrin

Sorry if I've missed anyone out, I can't keep up!

skyra13 · 02/03/2015 14:05

RL My arm hurt for a few days after the jab :(
Pretty much ready to go to scan now must not forget to do wee sample before I go.
Got to go pump my car tire up now as it keeps going down lol fun fun
Re about bags being packs had mind packed since 30 weeks saves rushing if something does happen.

Heyitsholly · 02/03/2015 14:05

Ive been in meetings this monring and youve wirtten three pages , its hard to keep up!!

Good luck babiecakes! id love to be able to meet mine now

I ad the same feeling as you Lauren82000 about bump going flat, it did it to me this morning. I was not impressed and half felt like it all could have been a dream and ive just got fatter. Doesnt help that i met up with a friend who i hadnt seen in a long time and is also preggers, she had a much bigger bump than me and shes due a month behind. People in the cafe were talking to her about being pregnant without even realising i am too. I was a size 16 before and haven't put any on but i think people must just be presuming im fat Blush

We toured our hospital birth unit the sunday before last, its given my hubby the shock he needed and now keep saying he is so excited and cant wait, whilst its cute i dont know what hes been thinking these past 7 months!!

smogsville · 02/03/2015 14:12

That sounds good Penguin.

Have just had enormous lunch three pieces of toast sliced into soldiers and dipped into spicy dahl, two pots of yog/ fruit/ granola and half a big sticky bun filled with patisserie cream. Stuff just appears in the office kitchen from nowhere.

Wow babiecakes enjoy the next couple of days doing final preparations!

skyra for your mex night can you cheat a bit and buy those kits they sell in supermarkets?

No to contractions StuntNun. Why not pack your bag just in case? Mine's all done and lives in a corner of our room, one less thing to think about.

Speaking of bags, I had an idea - I might pack a pair of jeans and thin shirt for DH just in case baby tries to come early in middle of day and he's at work and I have to make own way to hospital in a cab. As he will be in suit and thick shirt if he has to come straight from office and hospitals are so hot it might help if he has something more comfortable to change into while I have section.

Congratulations on the house Squidge. Can you perhaps use the time between exch and completion to get some measurements for any furniture you might need to order etc?

skyra13 · 02/03/2015 14:15

Smog yer I think I will be buying most of the stuff premade!!! :) gonna just bung it on the table an let people help them self.

RL20 · 02/03/2015 14:28

Good luck with your scan Skyra!

Heyitsholly Id love a tour as I feel like my partner needs shocking into action too! I still don't think he'll really believe were having a baby until he's here! Does your midwife offer the tour to you? I'd love to know if my hospital offers that.

Smog how nice of you to think of what to pack for your partner! I didn't even think of the middle of the day.
For some reason I keep thinking it'll happen in the middle of the night!? No idea why.
Also, your lunch sounded yum. Well you know you're 33 weeks pregnant when you've just eaten a small-ish jacket potato with chicken and it hasn't filled you up! I'm not sure what to eat now. If I carry on snacking we will have no snacks left Shock

Well I've just had the news that one of my relatives (think she would be my 3rd cousin) has just had her baby boy at 35 weeks! He's little at under 4lbs 15ozs but fingers crossed everything seems ok at the minute! I know she's had bleeding episodes throughout the pregnancy and has been in hospital a few times. All I know is that she's had a csection so not sure whether it was an emergency one or whether it was planned. Either way, hearing that at 33 weeks pregnant is quite scary! But thankfully everything seems ok.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/03/2015 14:29

It's 500 extra calories a day in third trimester RL20 but I don't think you can have a standard amount personally. I'm pretty active and so everything I do is using more calories than normal just due to extra weight (gained 8kg now) without what baby is using.

I have put my self down as run director at parkrun on 4th April, because I was induced with both I'm not worried but my fellow organisers have arranged a stand in. Hoping that might get things started with relation to the law of sod as nothing else did with my other two!

35 weeks today!

smogsville · 02/03/2015 14:40

cinnamon once again well done on volunteering!

RL my lunch was great but I've eaten too much and could really do with a nap now. Staring at this proposal and willing it to write itself...

You're right you lot, how nice am I? Better take this halo off before it gets too heavy Wink

ChickenMe · 02/03/2015 14:42

Mmm Mexican skyra a nice idea. Mexican isn't too high maintenance cos you can do dips and stuff. I might steal your idea for when we next have guests. I normally do roasts but so cannot be arsed now. I fancy guacamole now.Grin

I've not had contractions Stunt but I've had tightenings and I woke up this am with a weird stitch down one side (now gone). Defo pack ur bag!

RL bin juice should be banned. When I lived in London we had food recycling where the food goes separately. I loved it as no bin juice in the main bin. But now I've moved its not going here. God I love throwing crap away too. So therapeutic isn't it? My arm hurt for days after that jab!!!

smogsville · 02/03/2015 14:44

Yes good one skyra you don't need to be chained to chopping board for hours at this late stage.

Squidge14 · 02/03/2015 15:00

Thanks smogs we have been round to measure up so hopefully we can decide on most of the purchases, now just need to juggle the delivery times...!

I'm definitely noticing I'm hungrier lately I only seem to be full up for an hour at most Blush Must step away from the chocolate though, that has been my Achilles heel for sure!

dancestomyowntune · 02/03/2015 15:04

Good luck Babiecakes. You've done really well to get to 36weeks.

I wish I'd managed to hold on to Tiger-Rose for a few more weeks Sad. She is doing so well, but it is so frustrating not being able to bring her home and be a proper mummy to her. I am praying that by the end of the week we might have a clearer idea of when she can come home.

Today she appears to have had every other feed given by bottle, which is good. I should be 34 weeks today, instead I have a four week old preemie and an aching longing to have her here with me, while she lays in a hospital cot Sad.

ChickenMe · 02/03/2015 15:14

I'm sorry dances you must be missing her being close to you so much. It sounds naive but I didn't realise that if your baby was in special care you could not stay with her? That is so difficult. Praying you get a date to work towards soon.
