It's quite common to not get scans till after 12 weeks now - mine was 13+4 because NT scans can be done upto 14 weeks successfully.

Snowflake15 · 02/03/2015 14:47

Did I mean spam? Might have meant havetea?

Cornberry · 02/03/2015 14:53

sangria that sounds like a nightmare :( I'm so sorry

GoooRooo · 02/03/2015 15:00

Well I am off to the doctor this afternoon. I think I have a clot in my leg. I had a DVT 12 years ago and my circulation in that leg is now shocking so will not be surprised but am quite scared about it.

GoooRooo · 02/03/2015 15:01

Snowflake - my job is moving to Oxford Circus next month. Might see you on the tube!

misssmilla1 · 02/03/2015 15:58

Hope that everyone who had a scan today went well. goo sorry to hear that, can I ask how you know? I ask because I've been flagged as being at risk for similar but don't really know what to look for and want to be on the ball.

I'm 10w4 today and just been for my scan. All looks good, the picture is just a blob tho as it kept moving and punching it's arms and legs in the air and wouldn't keep still! She also couldn't hear the heartbeat as a result but could see it, and it's all nice and strong so nothing to worry about there.

I had my bloods taken for the harmony test, which includes finding out the sex; my next appointment is 20/3 (as we have them every 3 weeks here and) so we'll know the results by then, if not before.

Spoke to the doc about whether there's much difference waiting to 12/13 weeks to tell people compared to now, and she's said not (unless we want to wait for the harmony results) so am planning to tell my parents this weekend. I'm excited about this - it will be their only grandkid (unless we have more) and the last time I spoke to my mum about it last year we had a big heart to heart and I was thoroughly depressed as we were basically told we had unexplained infertility and were being pushed down the IVF route.

Debating when to start telling other people - might have to be sooner rather than later as my stomach is starting to look like I ate all the pies Grin

Desperately trying to catch up after being away this weekend. Re slings and carriers, no time limit on them being them if you get an ergonomic one. Shouldn't be in carseats for too long though. We have an icandy pushchair which I love but we got the cheapest model and very glad as we've barely used it compared to lots of families. DD has never liked being in a pushchair and doesn't now at 20 months. It can be a big shock if you're picturing leisurely outings with a shiny pram and your baby doesn't like it but actually if you consider they spend nine months cosied up inside you it kind of makes sense!

shinjuku09 · 02/03/2015 16:01

Oh also have no idea how we'll get around with another DC?! DD now hates pushchair and sling too and wants to walk absolutely everywhere but just won't walk in the right direction still and will just sit down on ur floor if we don't go the way she wants!! Planning on having next DC in sling for most of first year and hoping and praying DD will be better at walking by then!

shinjuku09 · 02/03/2015 16:02

PS structured carriers like Ergo and Beco are great when they're older but stretchy slings like Moby and, my favourite, the Caboo are better for newborns.

shinjuku09 · 02/03/2015 16:06

Oh no poor you Sangriareally hope you feel better very soon. And snow hope you're ok now.

GoooRooo · 02/03/2015 16:07

missmilla turns out to be a localised infection in an old varicose vein (caused by last pregnancy - the glamour of it), not a DVT so I'm very relieved. I have anti biotics.

When I had the DVT my leg blew up like a tree trunk and that would be your first indication, it may also be hot to the touch.

Maths88 · 02/03/2015 16:23

So much to think about with slings/wraps/carriers!

Well I'm going to be hospital care for the rest of the pregnancy. Spent an hour and a half having bloods, urine and bp checked and doing lots of paperwork. She wasn't happy with bp and wants to monitor it. Feeling a bit down about it and like its my fault!

On the plus side while I was there she booked me in for 20 week scan so I have the date already! And she booked me a 24 week scan as they want to keep an eye on growth.

Two days until scan!!

So unbelievably tired and I have a two hour language class that whilst I would love to skip it, If the hispital appt taught me anything it's ther I need to improve my language skills!

butterflycats · 02/03/2015 16:41

Sorry I've been quiet.... Finding out it was twins was a complete shock! Now 13+2 and got yo have scans every 2 weeks to keep an eye on them! Lovely to see everyone else's scan pictures x

getoffthecoffeetable · 02/03/2015 16:52

shin have you tried a buggy board? We called it a skateboard and my DS loved it.

Treaclepie19 · 02/03/2015 16:53

It's not your fault Maths! Sending hugs x

I'm feeling rubbish this afternoon. I've got a really painful left hip. It's horrible.
Plus I think i may have a water infection. Constantly going to the toilet and finding out i don't need to go. Could it just be things moving and pushing on my bladder?

11+1. Can't wait til my scan.

I'm out, bad news at my scan. Should have been 13+1 but just saw an empty sac measuring about 10 weeks, they think it stopped at 6 weeks. Have another scan in ten days which seems pointless, just have to wait and see if it starts on its own, which I think is unlikely given it hasn't done for the last seven weeks. Good luck everyone else!

Snowflake15 · 02/03/2015 17:04

suz I am so sorry, take care of yourselfFlowers

Just giving a quick wave!

Had my 12 week scan last Thursday and all is well.

Had an extra scan on Saturday as I woke up bleeding but thankfully the baby is fine. Gynea thought it was probably due to having sex a few days before.

Ps. Is there a FB page yet? Finding it a little hard to keep track of you all on MN,but will try and catch up.
