toffee I started pregnancy yoga this week, it was really good, definitely helps to calm and relax ( or so I found)

As to the alcohol, I got my bfp on 27th December after drinking a reasonable amount over Xmas, I felt bad enough for that. Won't be drinking anything else, and didn't with dd1 either.

Snowflake15 · 04/03/2015 09:47

I didn't watch - I drank a bit before I got my bfp, and have had a few sips of red wine at my mums birthday meal last weekend, think I won't have any more at all now seeing thisBlush

Treaclepie19 · 04/03/2015 09:48

I also had a glass of wine the day before my bfp and a couple at new years.
I've not had anything since finding out. Problem is the advice is so wooly.

Morning all! I've quit drinking for the duration, too, along with runny eggs and mold ripened cheese and all that, on the basis that if anything happened I wouldn't be able to convince myself it wasn't my fault because I had {that sneaky half that one time / a fry up / a sandwich}. A friend suggested this policy, which works for me. I really can't face properly researching each of the prohibitions tbh. Don't think I'll watch the show though - enough horror stories without going looking!

GoooRooo · 04/03/2015 10:01

Midnight runny eggs are fine if they're lion stamped.

THEworrywart · 04/03/2015 10:02

I was about to say that too - enjoy your runny eggs aslong as they're lion stamped. The protein will do you good

thecrab · 04/03/2015 10:17

also not a drinker here but do have the odd glass of champers during the christmas and new years celebrations. obviously found out early jan and thought typical!

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 04/03/2015 11:00

I said this earlier on the thread but worth repeating, a girl on my other bus was hospitalised with food poisoning from a runny egg which was lion stamped. There are other bugs than salmonella.

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 04/03/2015 11:04

Toffee - I was recommended Aveeno for dry skin and I've found it fab. My childhood eczema came back with a vengeance a few years ago and it's the best thing I've had for it

sauvblanc21 · 04/03/2015 11:26

That's the problem snow, progs like this make us feel really guilty but maybe they shouldn't! ALL my mum friends had the occasional class of wine and had beautiful healthy kids - these progs sometimes feel like nanny state gone mad! Ah well I'll continue to hold off but may have a little sip of fizz at my 30th birthday next month :)
Gooo - I couldn't believe the France thing either! Ha! I mentioned it to my French brother-in-law and he said all French preggos he's known (inc his sister) continued to drink red wine and eat soft cheese! Who knows! Xx

THEworrywart · 04/03/2015 11:28

Lovely the chances are it wasn't cooked properly.

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 04/03/2015 12:29

Well no it wasn't, it was runny Grin

Choccyhobnob · 04/03/2015 12:35

Scan was all good, choccy jnr was jumping about and waving his/her arms about. such a relief Smile

Treaclepie19 · 04/03/2015 12:36

There's a difference though, if the white wasn't cooked properly that's different surely?

I've been avoiding as I wasn't sure what was best to do.

Great news choccy :)

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 04/03/2015 12:47

I don't think so Treacle, whatever bugs might be in the white might be in the yolk too so thoroughly cooking the white but leaving the yolk runny is the same risk I think.

Great scan news Choccy!

Kittykitty05 · 04/03/2015 12:54

toffee I did yoga with my first pregnancy, was wonderful. I remember thinking I'd stop when I got big, but the day before ds arrived I was there doing downward dog etc! The midwives during labour said they could tell is done yoga due to the positions I used in labour, can't particularly remember it myself!
Couldn't find a class last time, and I've looked recently but only found one at 8.30 on a Saturday morning, I'd never make it!

THEworrywart · 04/03/2015 13:12

For fuck sake I've got weird pains today and it's kicked off panic attacks cause I'm home alone Sad
I feel guilty not actually enjoying pregnancy as I'm only 14 weeks

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 04/03/2015 13:22

Worry have you managed to speak to anyone about your cbt referral? It's not good of them to leave you to it like this. Hope you feel better this afternoon and the pains go. You could always ring the midwife, apart from getting reassurance it might help speed up getting help.

THEworrywart · 04/03/2015 13:34

I don't even have a midwife I've been consultant led since day one Angry not met a single midwife! In regards to cbt they're not moving it forward and have give me a number for 'listening ears' when I feel anxious fucking ridiculous.

DeladionInch · 04/03/2015 13:42

Enjoying it is not compulsory. Pregnancy may not be an illness but it can cause a fair few. Worry do you have a community mental health worker? If not, would you be willing to talk to a charity like MIND?

THEworrywart · 04/03/2015 13:43

Nope I'm under loads of consultants for my mental health. I've tried b-eat and it didn't help I felt so patronised.,

mrsdos · 04/03/2015 14:03

worry Thanks

I am suffering with pains under my ribs this afternoon, almost like the are stretching Confused teamed with pasty induced indigestion it will be a long afternoon!

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 04/03/2015 14:06

Worry do you have any contact details for your local midwives on your notes? Even if you've never seen one of them they should help you. Is your gp any good?

THEworrywart · 04/03/2015 14:08

Nope non on my notes. We don't have a community midwife anymore apparently! My GP is amazing but has done all they can. It's got my family so frustrated that they're all doctors but can't do anything for me.
