snow how grim! Deffo get a badge, even if they are a bit twee - it'll help good samaritans overcome the British reserve to offer you a seat when you need it. Could you perhaps tuck it under a lapel or where it's hidden when your coats done up, so you could deploy it at will?

Had a v quiet weekend as DP has had a rotten cold. Even a mild one doesn't mix well with asthma but this one's a stinker. He's gone off to work fairly chipper - and left the cold with me!! Not happy, got a million things to do.

ditzzy · 02/03/2015 09:22

Looks like my scan is cancelled as the machine is broken Hmm

Trying to work out options to still get it on time for the NT measurement. Think I'm going to have to go privately for it - but even that will run the time tightly as I'm 13+1 today

itssangriaoclock · 02/03/2015 09:37

Glad someone was there to help you snow this morning.

Spam I also have absolutely no sex drive, dh even hinting at a little action really winds me up.

I had the stokke carrier last time great for over 4months but won't recommend from birth as it advertises. Will def get a sling/wrap for the time between. Caboo and moby have been recommended to me by friends. Along with the sling library. Ego baby also good but think I will use my stokke.

Hit an all time low yesterday when travelling back from our family break in Devon. Felt dreadful most of the journey, planned to stop at nxt services. But with 17miles to go ds (21months) started screaming I felt so sick couldn't begin to offer reassurance to himSad.
At a mile to go, I burst into tears as can't help ds, and feeling the worst I have ever felt. No hard shoulder, ended up reaching for a nappybag/doggy poo bag and was sick very sick as pulling into services. Was horrible, I basically slept for the 4hr journey left poor dh to drive and entertain provide snacks to ds SadSad

Managed to get to 11 wks with little to no sickness then wk 12 hits and boom hideous sickness. Hopefully it's a very good sign strong hormones etc.

Felt a very strong movement this morning been feeling at one a week.

Scan is only two sleeps away and then I can start to share our secret.

itssangriaoclock · 02/03/2015 09:38

Oh ditzzy do they only have one machine???

ditzzy · 02/03/2015 09:51

There's no space on the other scanner and the one they've hired while it gets fixed is too low resolution for dating and NT. She's asked me to call in later to see if they can squeeze me in anywhere but not looking good

ditzzy · 02/03/2015 09:52

I guess I'm lucky that I can afford to do it privately if needed

itssangriaoclock · 02/03/2015 09:56

I known in the past for scan to be done privately on the nhs in such a situation. Worth an ask???

ditzzy · 02/03/2015 10:00

They've just got back to me and said they can fit me in tomorrow lunchtime but I'll have to go back a couple of weeks later to see the consultant. I've accepted that and it's still a pain having to now work at home all day tomorrow but at least that is do-able. No idea whether DP is going to be able to make it now though, he's just been told he needs an operation on his foot which will take him off work for 6 weeks so it's going to be hard for him to get away tomorrow.

itssangriaoclock · 02/03/2015 10:15

That's good

MyNameIsSuz · 02/03/2015 10:31

Sorry your scan has been cancelled ditzzy. I'm 13+1 too, I guess we have the same due date!

My scan is this afternoon, heading off soon to drop ds with granny, pick up dh from work and get to the hospital. The nerves have really kicked in, I'm no longer excited just terrified it'll be bad news after the spotting I had last week. I'm a gibbering mess.

ditzzy · 02/03/2015 10:32

It's a huge relief to be honest. And DP has just called to say he should be ok taking tomorrow morning off so I should have company too Grin

Now just back to worrying whether the little one is doing ok rather than about the logistics of getting to see her! I'm going to be so jealous tonight looking at everyone's scan pics being posted.

Hopefully it even means they won't measure my blood pressure tomorrow as my consultants appointment has been moved by 2 weeks so I've got a bit longer to calm down and start relaxing.

ditzzy · 02/03/2015 10:34

Thanks Suz - and good luck for today! I've only just moved up to the Midlands from Oxfordshire so I've been chuckling about our similarities for a while.... I am actually called Suz (or close enough!) too Grin

GoooRooo · 02/03/2015 10:43

Good luck today Suz!

Spam I had a Kari Me sling and I love it - I'll be using it again. I have HUGE boobs - actually I have huge everything but my boobs are comedy sizes - and it was absolutely fine.

BeautyBoo · 02/03/2015 10:43

Good luck to everyone having scans today! 4 days till mine Smile

MyNameIsSuz · 02/03/2015 10:46

Ah thanks ditzzy and gooo. Love the similarities! Grin

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 02/03/2015 11:20

Snow glad to hear you're ok. I'm lucky in that I have a reserved seat on the train. I've now got a badge for the tube, it's not so much a need to sit down but to stop people leaning and standing on me. I pop it on as I go into the tube and take it off as I come out, as neither commuting friends nor colleagues know yet.

Which route do you travel on?

Tiredstressed · 02/03/2015 11:47

Hi everyone. I have a caboo sling which I did not get around to trying properly for my DD but I am hoping that I will get to grips with it this time. I also have an ergo, which I really like so I could always get the newborn insert if needs be. I am envisaging needing the sling a lot as my DD will be 18 months when this one is born. I have also started to look at double buggies but I will wait until nearer the time. I might go second hand as I already have 2 buggies kicking around the house.
My scan date has come through for 11 March - I also need to have some additional testing for a genetic condition so I am trying to push the hospital to get that sorted. I am keen to have that done asap but am struggling to get hold of the department in question at the moment. Hopefully it will get sorted soon...
Lovely to see all the scan pictures and I hope those with morning sickness feel better very soon.

Whatabout · 02/03/2015 12:10

All good at scan and dates bang on!

September 2015 (Thread 5) Bring on the scans! :)
SpamAnderson · 02/03/2015 12:28

Fantastic whatabout when's your due date?

DeladionInch · 02/03/2015 12:53

One wriggly grey blob, all limbs and vital organs present and correct. Edd brought forward to 12/9 :)

bonzo77 · 02/03/2015 13:08

hi all. Gosh you can talk: I think last time I posted was at the start of the second thread!

I've not bothered to RTFT, but I hope all is going well for many of you. I am more than well aware that there are never any guarantees. 12 week scan time is funny really. For me there's a big part of me excited as we may well be able to announce. But a bigger part scared about bad news. I was chatting to a friend this morning who knows I am pg, and she asked me when I would tell every one, assuming tomorrow as the scan is then. But actually, I've waited 8 weeks, so am rather inclined to wait till after the 20 week scan. I guess it'll be harder to hide by then, being number 3 and it being warmer and not baggy jumper weather by then.

Just to add to the worry, DS1 has had chicken pox. Luckily when I called her, my lovely MW arranged to take my blood and get it tested for immunity, and called me today without me chasing her to say I was immune. Honestly, she's lovely. It's the first time I have had a named MW and it makes me feel so much better.

Pretty shocked by NHS hospitals not having facility to provide a scan at 12 weeks due to equipment problems. Also not impressed that they book you one so late, at 13+1! I've had 4 appointments for 12 weeks scans over the years, and all of them have been for between 11 and 12 weeks, precisely to allow for a rescan in case of equipment problems or the baby not being well positioned.

Some posters have mentioned feeling some movements. I'm sure I have, when lying very still on my back.

Right, off to read the thread!

mrsdos · 02/03/2015 13:09

Hurrah! Looking forward to seeing the pics!
I hope I am not being unreasonable about my cousin posting on facebook (I got my sis to message him to say we did not want it made public!!) but dh is a teacher in a secondary school and last year one of his darling pupils took to social media to stalk me! Shock So now just a little over cautious in who can see what. On the other hand, my wonderful Grandad asked if it is ok for him to tell his pals as he is so excited! Grin

ag123 · 02/03/2015 13:19

HaveTea you described my situation entirely regarding the hugely noticeable reduction of, ahem, action during pregnancy!!

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 02/03/2015 14:07

Grin ag123

Not so much a dry spell as a total drought...

Snowflake15 · 02/03/2015 14:42

lastnight I travel by train from zone 4 just past lewisham to charing cross, then a tube to Oxford circus. Since being pregnant the train part makes me so nauseous, but usually I manage to get a seat, just unlucky today there were delays so I had to catch a cannon street train, which was awful due to the london bridge work! I am going to try and sneakily use my badge for the train part of the journey- much less likely to see colleagues there too!

whatabout lovely scan! 2 weeks today til mine!

spam ag I have also been experiencing this, so we set a date last night and because it's been ages it ended up being a very quickie! BlushHmm not impressed!

It's DPs birthday today, couldn't resist buying an I heart daddy baby grow as a present from blob, can't wait to see his face!Grin
