Spoke to the MW earlier about my worries and she was really chuffed with the weight loss, not concerned at all. She's told me to just take a samiple when I go for my scan next week and they'll check for signs of gestational diabetes.
Weighed this morning and I've now lost 13lbs! 12lbs more will take me to a non-high risk bmi. But she did say once I'm 'more pregnant' that the BMI is less of a concern as some weight will be baby. I'd gained at least 4lbs by now with dd1 and 2 by now so I'm beating that :)
My friend knows what a Facebook fan I am and was surprised I've managed to not spill the beans on there yet! I'm being a good girl :) Especially as I've known since just over 3 weeks pregnant :) A week on Friday until my scan and I can tell the dds, then have to go tell my dad (even though he already knows as he overheard mum but 'we' have to tell him :/) and then it's totally going on Facebook! And my business page so people understand why I've been turning away all orders for September onwards!
Anyone else feel like they've 'checked out' work wise too? I just cannot be bothered, I don't want to do any more work, I just want to clean and tidy the house, and Nest!
Congrats to those with lovely scan pictures! This time in 10 days, hopefully I shall have a lovely pic to upload :) Listened in to bub this evening for a minute, thankfully only took a minute to find him, heart happily beating away :D

NatalieBee · 24/02/2015 19:22

Kitty Love that pic it is super cute! Thats what I cant wait for, not having to wear baggy things which just make me look fatter rather than pregnant! The clingy tops come out tmorrow :D

Cornberry · 24/02/2015 19:32

lastnight why are you waiting to get a badge for the tube? I got one at 5 weeks...

Snowflake15 · 24/02/2015 19:39

spam that's incredible well done! I have gained loads but it's the only thing that keeps my nausea away, and my bmi still low. I definitely feel out of the loop with work, when we talk about future jobs I keep thinking - I won't be here by then! Haha!

So jealous of all you ladies sharing your news soon - Im still only 9+5 but due to work probably being difficult, having a course to finish and bonuses in April I'm hoping not to tell them until around 18- 20 weeks... I know it will be tough but I hope I will be able to do itHmm

SpamAnderson · 24/02/2015 19:55

I'm lucky in a way, I dress like a slob the majority of the time anyway, big old duffel coat, hoodies, cardigans and I live in jeans, so my bump is naturally hidden! I've lost a little weight off my stomach but it looks pretty much the same size but is definitely rounder now, looks like an egg when I look down. I tend to get mahoosive bumps :)
Thanks snow :) I'm hoping to keep to from FIL until 23 weeks! Not sure how it'll work but I'll do my best... lots of maxi dresses, cardigans, take up wearing scarves...... Enjoy having your little secret from work people :) If you're quite small, and especially if you're fit, you'll probably be able to hide your bump that long no problem. My friend is average size and no-one noticed she was pregnant with her 3rd until she was about 8 months! I'm a big fatty so I imagine most people will just assume I'm getting fatter!

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 24/02/2015 20:14

Wow, so many scans already. So exciting! Can't wait for ours, a week today! I'm 11+3 today.

Sorry for everyone who is having worries, hope everything is ok.

Have seen a couple of times people posting about eating runny eggs and haven't managed to comment, so sorry for random timing but just wanted to let you know that just because it's lion stamped doesn't mean it's safe, there are other bugs you can get. A girl on my other bus was hospitalised in early pregnancy with food poisoning from a runny egg.

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 24/02/2015 20:38

Cornberry I don't really want to go public until after the scan and I know I will either bump into someone I know on the tube or forget to take it off when I walk into the office. Plus, a part of me feels like it might be tempting fate a little?

Might go and order one, mind...

Cornberry · 24/02/2015 20:47

I just got mine by asking at the kiosk in my local tube. Was annoying taking it off and on but I've been signed off work for a month so hasn't been a problem. Doesn't make as much of a difference as up you might think but it certainly made me feel less self conscious about spitting into a bag on the bus!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 24/02/2015 21:25

I'm normally racing through Paddington or Oxford circus at speed, so don't get chance to stop off at the ticket office. It's not too bad normally, just when something goes wrong somewhere and it's horrifically crowded. I'm lucky that on my main commuter train (1hr 15) I have a reserved seat so can sit in my little cocoon and have a nap

Jessica32 · 24/02/2015 21:54

Suz I'm really glad things seem to have settled a bit for you. Fingers crossed.

I'm definitely bloated and have been for weeks. Someone noticed the other day and asked if I was expecting, thank God I was! As it has to be bloat rather than baby when I'm only 10+1 could have been v awkward if I wasn't!

DefinitelyNotElsa · 24/02/2015 22:29

I've also got my 'baby on board' badge and wore it for the first time yesterday. I'd intended to hold out to nearer 12 weeks (currently 9+1), but exhaustion has hit in a big way. I was very appreciative of a seat tonight!

Can I join the bloated club too? Tonight has by far been the worst so far. By 6pm I had a neat little bump and now I'm crawling into bed, it feels huge.

Roll on 12 weeks...

misssmilla1 · 25/02/2015 02:17

Been feeling really odd / under the weather the last couple of days, and not the normal pregnancy related nausea and indigestion. Had v minor stomach cramps on and off yesterday so hoping it's everything stretching and nothing more. Will get to find out at the scan next Monday

Still eating like a runaway train; currently on two breakfasts as otherwise I am really cranky and light headed by 10.30am Blush

As a result I'm bloated and I think getting a belly; I had a 'rollover' before I got pregnant so this just looks like I haven't lost the Christmas weight! It's also freezing here so I am wearing layers and layers of clothes so it's hiding it a bit. I'd really like to get to 16 weeks / early April at work before telling everyone, not sure how achievable that will be tho! I followed some excellent MN advice on one of these threads and invested in some drapy scarves from H&M - that paired with a jacket is hiding anything noticeable

sauvblanc21 · 25/02/2015 07:01

Had a bit of a meltdown last night Blush was feeling sooo sick and knackered and had really uncomfortable trapped wind and hadn't been able to mark the sets of books I needed to do for my lessons today BECAUSE I felt so sick....so I burst into tears and couldn't stop. Hubbo was amazing but as a result we didn't sleep til about 1am and now I feel worse! Booo. Woe is me.
So looked on website for tips about "morning sickness" (Yeah right! Try ALL DAY AND NIGHT SICKNESS!) and the first one was "pull a sickie" if it's all getting too much, so I've done that, and now feel guilty.
Jeez, this pregnancy thing is troublesome isn't it!?!? Xx (Gotta go set cover now, grrr.)

Treaclepie19 · 25/02/2015 07:14

Don't beat yourself up sauv, you're not well enough for work so don't feel guilty!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 25/02/2015 07:17

Sauv - sometimes us teachers have to out ourselves first . I'm behind on marking because I just seem to need so much sleep!
In a maternity top today to cover my maternity trousers, and it would seem that the expectation is that if you are over a size 14, you're not allowed 'perky' boobs! Hope I can find a safety pin at work. Might try and squeeze into a smaller size next time.

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 25/02/2015 07:37

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling rough, its really tough and working in a demanding job means there's no let up. Try to prioritise yourself though.

On my way to speak at a gender in stem debate. Interestingly, retention after children is likely to rear its head...

DeladionInch · 25/02/2015 07:38

I'm going to a wedding in April then getting married in may. my dress for may is fairly forgiving and floaty as well as being a size too big, I'm hoping I don't have to do a panicked fly round the department stores 2 weeks before lol

THEworrywart · 25/02/2015 07:58

Been up most the night with period like pains :( really don't want to go my scan tomorrow now I keep having anxiety attacks over it cause I'm just expecting bad news.

THEworrywart · 25/02/2015 07:59

Oh just seen the scans of Jess Monkey and Mummy congrats really happy for you how exciting

DoctorDonnaNoble · 25/02/2015 08:00

Sounds interesting lastnight. My old school, a girls' grammar, recently cut Tech at A level as it's really expensive. There was quite an outcry amongst old girls but it still happened. Given the situation of education funding I can see that happening in more schools Hmm.

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 25/02/2015 08:02

I went to a girls grammar and wasn't allowed to do A level product design as there were only two girls interested... Latin ran with one person!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 25/02/2015 08:03

And they wonder why there's problems getting girls into STEM!

Fluffin · 25/02/2015 08:06

Well I thought I'd gotten away with just feeling green around the gills for weeks, but this morning seems to have brought on the "even water will make you throw up" portion of early pregnancy. Yay.

Fluffin · 25/02/2015 08:08

Also, I went to a girls school, and we were encouraged to do dance and home ec, we had to fight to be allowed to use the metal and wood work rooms at the boys school for art. This is despite it being a very academic school.

Jessica32 · 25/02/2015 08:15

Sorry guys but what is Stem?

Sauv definitely don't feel guilty, if you were ill and couldn't reach for any other reason you wouldn't. It's not a 'sicky' when you are sick!

Deladion seraphine have some nice things both formal and not. You may find something nice for April there. Also if worst comes to the worst and you do have to run about at the last minute for your wedding, they do bridal too. They aren't the cheapest but the quality seems to be good and they are special occasions.
