Beaky pregnancy is an emotional rollercoaster. You are doing the best you can which is all you or anyone else could ask. I don't think there is such a thing as a 'perfect time' or 'perfect situation'. And I do not think your comments are insensitive, that is what mn is for!

I'm pleased to say my scan this morning went well. Saw a lovely baby wriggling away on the screen waving it's arms and legs and a strong heart beat. So relieved I cried. Have been dated as 10+1 so 3 days ahead of what I thought. Now due 21st Sept.

Suz I would ring your GP. I know things depend on area but that is what I did yesterday afternoon when I couldn't get hold of a mw and had started bleeding. He referred me and I had a scan this morning. You are likely to be fine like I was, but nothing I knew or anything anyone said helped until I had the scan.

MyNameIsSuz · 24/02/2015 15:32

Thanks Jessica, you've inspired me to ring the GP, I just got back. He had a feel for my uterus but couldn't feel anything, though he said you often can't at this stage, and there was no point listening if it's still behind the pubic bone. Since I have a scan on Monday anyway he said he wouldn't refer me unless there was more bleeding or pain, but it was so unlikely to be a problem and I shouldn't worry. I think it'll still be on my mind until Monday afternoon, and I expect by the time I arrive at the hospital I will be a nervous wreck, but I shall try to put it out of my mind.

monkeymoonpig · 24/02/2015 15:32

Scan went well, very active little babba! Had to jiggle around to do the NT measurement (1.8) and hang around for an hour for a blood test but all good in the end. New EDD of 7th Sept but that's fine too :)

Jessica32 · 24/02/2015 15:42

I'm glad you went Suz. Shame he didn't refer you but a professional's reassurance may help a little. I'm sure it will be on your mind, anyone would be the same, but I have my fingers crossed for you.

Lovely scan Monkey it's so amazing to see the baby on the screen and know it's inside you. This is my first and I don't think there is anything quite like it.

iniquity · 24/02/2015 16:17

I had my scan yesterday. All was fine from what she could see but she was very abrupt. Wouldn't want to get bad news from her.
She also wrote in my notes view obscured by maternal habitus which means fat apparently.
My bmi is 26 so I'm not exactly enormous
Cheaky bitch.

Whatabout · 24/02/2015 16:25

Cheeky bitch indeed! So unprofessional.

Jessica32 · 24/02/2015 16:31

She sounds awful! I was really lucky, my lady was so lovely. You wouldn't think she did these scans however many times a day. My DP said that to her when he thanked her and she does said how much she lived her job. Great.

Treaclepie19 · 24/02/2015 16:48

How awful iniquity, my bmi is 29 and ive never had it mentioned.
I think I'd be complaining if I were you, there's no need for rudeness.

worrywart my symptoms come and go, and I freak out too. Nearly puked this am, which I haven't done in a couple weeks. Taking that as a good sign, although frankly I take not wanting to vom as a good sign too... Plus, if you've just crossed into 12 weeks, don't a lot of symptoms drop off then? Mine did last week (13+1 today)

Anyone have any advice on how to shop ahead for maternity clothes? I have 2 weddings to go to at about 23 and 26 weeks (May). Same group so I probably need 2 dresses. I'm a first timer, so no idea how bumperific I'll be then or if the weight will spread itself around. Also 6' tall and a size 18-20 sans bump, so assume I'll be shopping online?

Second wedding sounds fairly dressy so already fretting about finding gear! Plus, totally sick of all my clothes so a spree has extra appeal. Any tips??

monkeymoonpig · 24/02/2015 17:00

Our sonographer was lovely! She explained everything really well and let us have 3 different photos (normally you can have 3 copies of same photo) so really lucky. Just a shame she got a date wrong on my form which delayed blood test (!) but sorted in end. Id be fuming if i had a rude cow. My bmi is 31 and there were no issues??

TheMidnightHour · 24/02/2015 17:07

Oops, posted early - forgot to hit refresh and there were 2 more pages of thread! Lovely scan pics :)

sauvblanc21 · 24/02/2015 17:26

Oooo lovely scan pics everyone! Smile

Glad to hear there is a little gang on us due around the end of Sept! I'm due 28th Sept so one of the last I think! Scan in just under 3 weeks - trying to wait patiently!!!! Started back at school yday and randomly was desperate to tell EVERYONE! Haha managed to hold it in tho!

Good luck to everyone with worries xxx

Toffeegirl39 · 24/02/2015 17:29

Lovely scan pics! mummyboo mine was 13 weeks to - due 28 aug so I am an imposter on this thread now!! My sonographer was also lovely- didn't make us pay for scan pics either.

Mummyboo30 · 24/02/2015 17:32

Lucky you Toffee! Ours cost a fiver each! Hmm I didn't really care by that point though!

NatalieBee · 24/02/2015 17:48

Will have to have a quick read back after I post this! Chatty ladies!

I decided to 'announce' on Facebook to people I don't see as much and I am actually smiling away to myself lol! 13 +2 thought it was time! I'll add the pic I used to do it! Adorable Grin

I'm 21st Sept so in the middleish!

Had a horrid tube journey this evening. So many people jostling, shoving and leaning on me. Felt very vulnerable. Cant wait until I can wear a badge!

Suz how are you getting on now? Hopefully things have calmed down?

NatalieBee · 24/02/2015 17:54

Just had a quick read back! So sorry to everyone who's having a day full of worry Flowers

GoooRooo · 24/02/2015 18:26

Lovely scan pics everyone!

Midnight I would wait until nearer the time to buy a dress. I'm a 18 - 20 too and it looks like Bon Prix, Gap, H&M and Dotty P will be my go yo places for maternity wear again.

GoooRooo · 24/02/2015 18:29

And I am also going to a wedding - in July - so fully expect to be enormous by then! Last time I had a bump by 16 weeks and looked properly pregnant by 20 weeks. I'm already struggling to do up my jeans this time.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 24/02/2015 18:37

I wouldn't say I have a bump as such but I definitely look pregnant! I'm only 10 +5.

Kittykitty05 · 24/02/2015 18:47

natalie here is the pic I'm uploading to FB later, not normally one for vague-booking, I thought I'll just put the pic on and see who comments!
Last day of hiding the bump at work tomorrow then when I'm back next week I'm not bothering. I've got loads of clothes I fit in, just almost nothing that hides the bump. I wore a jersey dress to see church friends today which clearly shows the bump! Was lovely!

September 2015 (Thread 5) Bring on the scans! :)
MyNameIsSuz · 24/02/2015 18:52

Thanks for thinking of me lastnight, I'm feeling better - no more bleeding so hopefully a one off and only five more days til my scan. I think I just have to put it out of my mind if I can!

Treaclepie19 · 24/02/2015 18:55

I was just saying to DH my tummy looks much rounder down low. Definitely got a bump even if it's mainly bloat. Problem is I'm already a size 16/18 so I just look bigger if you don't know it's pregnancy related.

Looking after my friends 6 month old tomorrow, that should be fun with how I've been feeling today :p

sauvblanc21 · 24/02/2015 19:12

No proper 'bump' for me yet at 9+2 but deffo bloating. Last two days I've got in the car to drive home, un-done the button and zip on my trousers to ease the bloat and out loud said "Oh god that feels wonderful!" Haha! X
