We are already nearing the halfway point! Some of us have already reached the 20 weeks, the rest will follow suit. Let the countdowns begin!

Here is the stats list, please update them with your scan dates and the sex of you baby (if you know it):

I got an old ladies button through nightie the other week from primark. Think it was £3/4? I absolutely love that shop for cheap and cheerful and tbh, I haven't had many things that bobble or fall apart after ten wears and washes either! They do some lovely kids clothes too, got my dd some fantastic stuff from there in the past, particularly Christmas jumpers and summer shorts, dresses and tops.

SophieandHerSnail · 24/03/2015 21:00

I think I wore a maternity/nursing dress when I had DC1, although at some point I ended up in a hospital gown - maybe when I had the epidural in? With DC2 I wore my dressing gown, plus my feet were cold so mum went to find me a pair of socks - I only realised afterwards she had brought me DH's kilt socks. Hah. They washed fine though.

jmojo · 24/03/2015 21:13

God my DH would kill me if I used his kilt sox, the kilt is sacred, the only thing he actually takes care of!!Wink

Got my 25 week appointment tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for sharing tips about birth wear. Does anyone know if there are special maternity tights that sit comfortably under/over the bump? All mine are control type tights which don't fit now! No point in trying to control the bump anyway Wink

broodylicious · 25/03/2015 08:14

Yes small, there are such things as mat tights. Think mine were from h&m or maybe top shop.

Zampa · 25/03/2015 09:28

I got my maternity tights (over bump) from H+M. They are very comfy but be cautious about sizing. I always need large tights from places like M+S (size 12, 5'9") but these ones are gigantic!

Thanks ladies. Just found this hilarious thread on the topic www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1398299-Maternity-tights-the-devils-work-I-think-so?pg=1&order=

Gracecook87 · 25/03/2015 19:49

Hi ladies, thought I would join this threat. I am due 7th July and wanted to chat to mums to be in the same boat Smile x

jmojo · 25/03/2015 20:01

Welcome Grace!!

Zampa · 25/03/2015 20:17

Hi Grace! Hope you and the lo are doing well. Smile

Sherbet38 · 25/03/2015 20:49

Useful posts on what to wear in hospital. As a first timer I was a bit unsure! Think I'll buy a big cheap nightie and a light weigh dressing gown. I also have some yoga type pyjama trousers from asda that I love... I live in them after work Hmm

Work wise, I think I'm lucky, although I work a normal 9-5 office job, my husband works for himself. So I'm hoping he week be able to be really flexible with the drop off/pick up from nursery etc.

Welcome Grace Smile

Zampa · 26/03/2015 06:01

The smoke alarm decided to help me get used to parenthood by being at me around 0430 this morning, telling me it had run out of batteries. Cheers.

Haven't been able to go back to sleep.

yawns

Zampa · 26/03/2015 06:02

beeping!

Naturegirl82 · 26/03/2015 08:15

Zampa why do the batteries always seem to run out at night!! Hope you managed to get some more sleep.

Zampa · 26/03/2015 08:52

The icing on the cake Nature is that I'm still late for work!

smallgreenbanana · 26/03/2015 08:56

Welcome grace I'm due to 8 July Smile Zampa hate it when that happens! Confused

Insomnia for me again c. 4am... Couldn't stop thinking about work after waking up for the usual mid-night loo visit. Managed to get back to sleep at 7, but then woken by message from colleague saying their baby just arrived! Feeling really emotional now Flowers

Stinkylinky · 26/03/2015 09:00

Morning everyone

I have my 25 week appointment today, DP is coming along as he wants to hear baby's heart beat bless him.

What else can I expect? Is it just the usual?

Aretepetite · 26/03/2015 09:49

You will get your wee tested, bp etc Stinky a general check over. You can also get your Matb form today. Good luck :)

I had 3 breakdowns yesterday Small felt like an emotional wreck, started with seeing a c-sec on tv ended with a story in the press about murder Confused Thank goodness I feel back to myself today. I called it an early night last night to avoid any more instances that could reduce me to tears.

I have started to think about my hospital bag too. Cheapo nighty to give birth in. I would like some glam pyjamas for afterwards though Hmm one to think about.

Nice to hear everyone is doing good. Hello Grace

Stinkylinky · 26/03/2015 09:52

Thanks arete, I got my mat1b form at my 20 week scan. I'm going to ask if there is anything they can give me for this awful acid reflux I'm having at night, I'm sick as soon as I get in to bed... Lovely!

Also if you are feeling emotional I suggest avoid watching Supervet, I am in tears every week, I'm not watching it anymore!

Charliej86 · 26/03/2015 11:49

An expensive but good couple of days here. Bought a new, bigger, car and booked a few days away Easter week. Have my 24 weeks apt on Tuesday, my dd and oh want to come with me to hear heart beat. Getting matb1 means a nice phone call to works hr so all official there. Also hoping midwife will sign me for holidays in 6 weeks tho not sure if final decision will be with my consultant??

Stinkylinky · 26/03/2015 12:24

charliej are flying for your holiday?

We need a new car badly, I had a crazy splurge on a brand new, completely unpractical car in the summer (think I was still slightly intoxicated from the night before!) and now we're stuck in a credit agreement for the car, hoping the dealer will let us swap it for something more suitable!

Aretepetite · 26/03/2015 12:28

aha, I have recorded that for DS (Supervet) so will know to avoid watching with him :) I think for sever cases of reflux 'Omeprazole' may be the way to go. Book an appt and speak to your gp. Otherwise, you can buy Maalox or Gaviscon from boots, keep a bottle in the fridge for evenings! I personally glug straight from the bottle now & in previous pg ! I prefer maalox to gaviscon due to consistencey and think the liquids give longer relief than the tablets ! Hth :)

Congrats on new car Charlie & good luck sorting out your holiday leave etc. All sounds good :)

Lunch for bump & me.
