Fizzy that was the first thing they asked me too. I just said "what's the options and can I change my mind?" Apparently you can change your mind so I picked the closest hospital and I'll speak to the midwife about the options in more depth another time.

Good luck mummy hope it's nothing.

I'm taking folic acid and separate vitamin D. I'd already got enought folic acid to see me through that I bought on 3 for 2 but saw vit D recommended so I've added that.

alien11 · 18/02/2015 12:55

good luck mummy thinking of you today,

Interesting stuff re the folic acid/vitamins! Im going to ask the midwife at my booking in appt. I took pregnacare last night and bloating seems less today ( before I was taking it with breakfast)
I relaxed my day out a bit by cancelling on my friend, really really couldnt cope with it. Shes also a very very selfish person and sitting listening to her ramble on about her life, troubles ( nothing in comparison to some!) and not being asked how I am just is not what I feel like listening to right now.

I seem to have bloating/bulge lower abdomen.. no way can it be start of a bump?!?!?!? I am living in jeans that dont fit me at all but better than the skin tight ones i was wearing. Not looking forward to looking a tramp on holiday in 2 weeks!

Mumwannabe82 · 18/02/2015 13:19

I'm 7+5 today!! got my feet up resting now Smile

can't remember who asked but I'm on pregnancy + app which is really good, only thing is after 14 weeks you pay something for the rest of the pregnancy so I might switch if I get that far x

orangeshortbread · 18/02/2015 13:29

Really interesting about the vitamins - I told my GP I was taking the Tesco pregnancy ones and she did not rate them. She told me to just take folic acid instead. However I normally do take multivitamins anyway because I'm celiac so I think I'll continue with them for the time being.

Anyone else wearing long tops already? I'm conscious of the bloating already and I'm sure my bra feels tight.

LakeOfDreams · 18/02/2015 13:47

I'm taking tesco pregnancy I tend to get whatever is on offer.

On phone so I can't scroll up but my GP refused to prescribe me 5mg folic acid as my BMI is 33 he told me it's only if your BMI is around 40 but I think it depends on the GP as a friend in a different area was prescribed it with a BMI of 31

Bambino29 · 18/02/2015 13:48

Hope all goes well today mum. Thinking of you.

gaggiagirl · 18/02/2015 14:32

I've gone up a few cup sizes! From a 32DD to a 32FF. Just had to buy a new bra. I look pregnant already I think its all bloat plus I have a small frame so there is nowhere for the bloat to hide. 7 weeks tomorrow!.

gingerbreadmam · 18/02/2015 14:47

thats what happened to me orange

i seem to think my bmi was 35 at drs however ovia says for weight and height its 33.5. either way i got the folic acid prescription.

Hi everyone - just saying hi, as have not posted for a few days. Is anyone else having the strangest dreams - mine are so vivid it is bizarre.

I am also exhausted & feel sick if I have not eaten every few hours.

I am only 6weeks & 1 day and really want this to hurry up - I have booked for a private scan at 10 weeks as can't wait till 12 but worried an earlier one is too early to be sure (although I know there is no 100% sure) but now I am thinking I want an early one but trying to just be patient.

My booking appointment has come through & I will be 9 weeks - so everything feels forever away.

Anyway just a general rant - fingers crossed for everyone.

nicelyneurotic · 18/02/2015 17:18

Hi everyone, can I join in?

I'm 32 and am expecting baby #2 around 20 October.

I've just got my booking in and scan appointments. Booking in on 27 March and scan on 13 April. Seems a very long time to me. I don't think I had to wait so long the first time, or perhaps I've just forgotten!

Theboxtroll - how much is your private scan? I'm tempted as am paranoid the baby will be dead or something horrible and i will be 13 weeks before I find out Sad

Theboxtrollsareallowed · 18/02/2015 17:26

I am nr London so doing it at the www.fetalmedicine.com/ it is £100 for an early scan - I have used the London ultra sound centre before as well.

I hate the waiting -

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 18/02/2015 17:42

I'm feeling grumpy today, I just don't understand how maternity provision can vary so much from area to area!

I won't even hear from my MW until I'm 10 weeks apparently, how on earth they will get me booked in for 12 week scan in two weeks is beyond me.

Was the same after DS was born. My sister (in Edinburgh) had the same MW visit her house every day, for 10 days. I had one home visit at 5 days with a MW I'd never met. Had to get myself to hospital for the 10 day appt, with a completely different MW!! It just seems ridiculous. And they wonder why mothers with mental health problems are missed...

Rant over!! Apologies Grin

Twinkletoes007 · 18/02/2015 18:04

mum hope you're ok. Try not to worry - easier said than done. This time last week I was a wreck for the same reason. Sure all will be well.

Just a quick question about scans. I have my GP appt booked for Monday. I don't have a midwife yet. Will Monday kick start it all and what is the dating scan and when is that done and what is the other scan that you have a bit after that or are they done at the same time? Sorry for my ignorance. I will be on hols at 12-14 weeks so am getting a bit concerned things won't be lined up in time.

LakeOfDreams · 18/02/2015 19:00

My antenatal care record that I got from the drs says
dating/combined screening 11+2-14+1
The other scan 18+0- 20+6

The midwife care in my town varies depending on which community team you get. I think the midwife/GP sends of your referral for the scan when they do I booking appointment. If you are worried you should be able to find out what community midwives you are under and they have an answerphone so you can leave a message and someone will get back to you. If you aren't sure ask your GP surgery for their number and give them a ring to check

Fallinggracefully · 18/02/2015 19:44

I had a fab midwife last time. Saw her at all but one of my antenatal appointments and 4 or 5 times in the two weeks after DD was born. Unfortunately she moved to a different community team last year. Twinkle things are a bit different in every area but last time I had GP appointment at about 8 wks, he refered to midwife who called within a week. Midwife booking in appointment at 10, dating scan at 12 ( midwife refered for this and the hospital sent me a letter telling me when it was). Then midwife at 15 I think, maybe 16, abnormalities scan at 20. I can't remember when I saw midwife after that. Maybe every 4 weeks til about 30wks, every 3wks til 36 then should have been every 2 but I was induced at 37. I'll try and find my blue folder from last time to check.

Mumwannabe82 · 18/02/2015 19:48

I just want to thank you lovely ladies for your support xx they can't fit me in till tomorrow afternoon so sitting at home worrying, can't help it!!! x

Fallinggracefully · 18/02/2015 19:51

Oh Mum. Sending hugs. I know it's easier to say than do but try to get some rest. Thinking of you and sending lots of positive sticky bean vibes.

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 18/02/2015 20:03

Mum Flowers More positive vibes from me x

gingerbreadmam · 18/02/2015 20:31

is it your first mum do you have support in rl?

AnnaBegins · 18/02/2015 22:10

Oh mum hope all goes well tomorrow.

alien and those wondering about vits, Pregnacare is overpriced for what it is! but then not all own brand ones have enough vit d. You need 10mg vit d and 400ug folic acid in a decent vitamin. I'm just taking a generic brand one (sample from work) which also includes a range of basic other vitamins.

Just be careful not to take vitamin a or anything containing it eg cod liver oil.

I believe the boots preg vit has all the basics too.

AnnaBegins · 18/02/2015 22:12

Oh I meant to say, I do have half a pack of Pregnacare going begging (as I'm still not convinced it didn't cause a bit of bleeding a couple of weeks back) and will happily post it if anyone wants to try it for free. It was a freebie sample so cost me nothing.

MrsEvansAlmost · 19/02/2015 00:00

theboxtrolls yes my dreams have been odd! the other night I had a dhoutubg match with jerrmy Sheffield? an actor bloke shouting 'I'm Spartacus' and giggling in my sleep.. dp woke me up saying I don't give a s**t who you think you are I will kick you out of bed if you don't shut up!! and last night I dreamt my boobs started leaking this yellow rusty looking liquid all over clothes in primark!!/what does that mean?! Hmm Hmm

Hi all, can I join in? I've just completed an ivf cycle and have my BFP, due date 22nd October so am at 5 weeks now. I haven't had a chance to read back through the thread yet, but will do at least a few pages when I get a chance!

Toast85 · 19/02/2015 06:21

MrsE and thebox- I've been having weird dreams since a week before BFP- so that's every night for 3 weeks at least now. My sleep pattern was really broken for the first 2 1/2 of those too but the last few nights I have been managing to sleep until my alarm goes off in the morning.
Last nights dream involved my parents dog running off and getting hurt, it biting my mum's leg, oh all sorts of other crap too. The night before made me laugh- I dropped my folic acid at work and so everyone found out as it rolled slowly across the floor of the office in front of everyone. Most aren't pregnancy related though. I never usually remember my dreams- I think it's because I'm still sleeping much more lightly at the moment compared to normal. Anyway it can be quite entertaining!

alien11 · 19/02/2015 07:08

Rant alert!!!!

Dd stayed @ my mums last night so I could have a lay in. Of course I woke loads and am wide awake now while dh makes a racket going to work. I told him im tired and his response in a sarcastic tone " of course you are"
And then proceeded to tell me to stop doing so much with dd everyday.
Dd hardly does anything! I'm trying to give her a fun childhood on a strict budget which I seem to pay for most of it.
Today it's the cinema as she wanted to see Shaun the sheep so we re going with a new friend and her dd who is one day older than my dd. Also have to fit in walking the dog, cleaning the house, washing, making lunches, dinner etc.
Feeling disheartened as the fact in pregnant apparently doesn't mean I should be more tired as someone we know is 33 weeks and has loads of energy. She does because she doesnt have to do all the chores and also eats sugar non stop whereas
I'm trying to be pretty good diet wise.

Really fed up Sad I seem to never have time to sit & play with dd as constantly tidying etc. Taking her to a little lunch & cinema is going to be lovely spending proper time with her.
Dh hD this attitude of " you don't work so have nothing to do all day"

Grrrrrrrr

Sorry for the rant x
7+2 today symptoms lessened & forget my pregnacare last night! Having one of those days/weeks/months
