good luck sheildbug hope things are OK.

having a major wobble today not sure I can cope with a baby financially and emotionally. I think the problem is that I have wanted to have a baby for so long and now its happening I'm terrified! so many what ifs going round in my head! dp has been wonderfully supportive after his initial shock/ absence (not literally just seemed very vacant going through it all in his head) and is being really optimistic. saw the MW yesterday and she bought up the option of termination?! what?! why?! you have come to do a booking in I understand you need to give the option but it's on the gp notes that is not an option. That sent my mind into a spiral if negative thoughts. sorry for the me post I know a lot of you are feeling the same way.

on a positive note today I am pregnant and mum has started to knit a patchwork blanket for the baby!!

Hey MrsEvans, I think we're all in a similar position, you're not alone. Remember our hormones are wreaking havoc. Just remember this is just a wave of badness, it will pass and you will feel ok again. Just keep your eye on the prize - that moment of holding baby in your arms and feeling a love that doesn't compare. xx

mrse i worry about money all the time, i think its the unknown tho. people have told me ill probs get 400 a month on maternity, thats a 3rd of my wage and would just to say cover my loan and other bills. but its all hearsay. i am waiting to see mw to see if they tell u what u r entitled to etc. everyone always says u never feel financially ready and i guess we r learning that is true ha. on the plus side everyone manages and we will too.

i feel lots of weird things this time. i am overweight (size 16) and have been for years however now all of a sudden i am totally gutted ive never done anything about it before and so envious of women with lovely slimmer figures mostly younger than me almost to the point that i am mourning my youth and then feeling guilty for feeling that way.

i really hate what i see in the mirror at the mo when its never bothered me before, bring on the blooming lol!

Seem to have stopped bleeding for now so just need to be patient until tomorrow when I can find out what's going on.

mrsE I'm shocked the mw said that to you. Don't worry, it's perfectly natural to be scared, excited and wondering how you will manage. The thing is, when you suddenly have this little dependant baby, you will find you step up to the mark and cope. As others have said, focus on the lovely goal ahead.

Ladypug · 26/02/2015 13:26

Welcome Nutella, congratulations! ps I just polished off an entire Domino's pizza - oops! X

gingerbreadmam · 26/02/2015 13:48

gaggiagirl · 26/02/2015 14:03

Ladypug · 26/02/2015 14:46

Hehe I was like "right I'm going to eat healthily, I'm going to have protein and seeds and.... oooooh pizzaaaaaaa!" x

gaggiagirl · 26/02/2015 14:55

I ate really well up until about a week ago, now I just want what I want, unfortunately that's stuff like bread, butter, pizza and chips.

Ladypug · 26/02/2015 15:03

How far along are you Gaggia?

gaggiagirl · 26/02/2015 15:08

8 weeks today lady how about you?
I have finally filled out that daft form for the midwife to pick up on Tuesday. Booking in here I come!

Ladypug · 26/02/2015 15:12

I'm 6 weeks - don't think I've seen a form. They told me midwife would ring - God knows when that happens! How does 8 weeks feel?

gaggiagirl · 26/02/2015 15:25

That's good the midwife will call you. You should get booked in in a fortnight. I had to write my name, dob and lmp on a form and the surgery leave it in the midwifes ducket. I too will get a call in a fortnight.
8 weeks feels tired. So tired and so nauseous. Also I'm either fat or have got a wee tiny bump. This is my third pregnancy though although I only have one DD apparently in subsequent pregnancies you show earlier.

Ladypug · 26/02/2015 15:41

Wow, I can't believe you're showing at 8 weeks! I'm tired already, surely it can't get worse! x

Steph2310 · 26/02/2015 15:44

Just had my booking in at 6wks and it took and hour and a half!

gingerbreadmam · 26/02/2015 15:56

i feel like a right fat twat and im between 6-7 weeks unless im further along than i think.

trying to be discreet at work and feel like i have no chance i dont know whats going on.

Ladypug · 26/02/2015 15:56

Hey Steph, what happened at the appointment? x

Steph2310 · 26/02/2015 16:07

She went through all the tests and screens they can/will do, what foods you have to avoid, asked every question under the sun about me and DH and family to get medical history. I had to take a urine sample with me so she tested that for sugar I think, she talked quite a lot about things that could go wrong and who to get in touch with. She also took some blood for more tests and explained what they test for. She asked what hospital I wanted to go to for the birth, that caught me off guard as DH and I hadn't thought about it or discussed it at all. she asked if DH was supportive or if I was experiencing any domestic violence or abuse. And she talked me through when I will have scans and more mw apts. I think that was everything!! Sorry for long post!

Ladypug · 26/02/2015 16:09

Wow ok, lots! They have given me a leaflet on tests but I'm so overwhelmed by it all! x

Fizzy13 · 26/02/2015 16:38

Booking appt was this morning (8+6) and a bit of an anti climax!
The midwife was lovely but it was just a paper filling in exercise. I don't think she even asked how I was feeling. As Steph said lots of questions about family history of DVT/depression/diabetes and domestic abuse. I felt the need to appologise for DH's absence because he's wonderfully supportive. She took some blood and that was it. (even though it took over an hour) I got sent away with a mountain of paperwork but am still none the wiser if what I'm feeling is normal!

Hope all goes ok Shield

On the up side she said I'm ok to ski and ride. They just don't want you taking anything new up at this stage.

sarkymare · 26/02/2015 17:07
