Good luck for your scan tomorrow twinkle. That's exciting!
DH and I went out to the pub with friends last night. We had told them our news before hand. There was someone else there who DH knows a little bit but I've not met before. We had agreed before hand we didn't mind being open about being pregnant, but I was under the impression it was just a quiet drink or two- I was not really prepared for our friends being properly pissed and the pub being loud, friends were very excited and wanted to talk about it, so basically I ended up having to shout about it to an almost- stranger whilst drinking my J2Os, whilst everyone else was getting more and more drunk Hmm. DH had a few to drink and totally didn't understand why I was a bit pissed off with the situation either, so I ended up feeling like I was just being up-tight about it.
Humph. So now I'm still in bed feeling a bit grumpy. At least I'm not hungover I guess.

batfish · 22/02/2015 10:30

twinkle I agree, not drinking is rubbish, we had a party at our house on Friday night and the night went sooooo slowly. I drank appletise which I passed off as white wine. I've been invited to a hen party in a couple of weeks and I actually would love to go but can't face making excuses all night as I'm a terrible liar so I've said I can't go Sad Hope your scan goes well, I saw a heartbeat at 5+5 so hope you will too! Don't worry if not though as everything I read before my scan said I wouldn't see one that early so I don't think it always happens

LakeOfDreams · 22/02/2015 11:38

I never really restarted drinking after my last pregnancy so no one ever expects me to be drinking, I've kind of gone off it now so am very used to being the only sober one around. It gets easier to put up with being the only sober one but I often need something to keep me going though which is harder this time as I've completely given up caffeine (except for chocolate obviously!!!)

I've given up on worrying, I wasn't at all worried last time and got a crap outcome so worrying isn't going to help. I am entering some sort of zen pregnancy state!! Hmm convincing right??!

catlady87 · 22/02/2015 12:41

So jealous of all you ladies having scans.

I'm 7+1 today. Starting to wonder how the hell I'm going to last til 12 weeks. But I can't afford £100 for a private one.

Enjoy them if you're having them! Lucky ladies! X

Ca55andraMortmain · 22/02/2015 13:19

For people due towards the start of Oct so who are a bit further on than me, have anyone's symptoms started to ease off? I'm 7 weeks today and boobs are tender where a week ago they were really sore and although I'm still feeling nauseous, its not as bad as it was. So stupid to not just be glad I'm feeling better but starting to worry that something's wrong...

kezod · 22/02/2015 13:21

Hi all, I've just spent then last hour reading 14 pages of your news and stories! Can I join too, I'm 5+3 with first pregnancy!

No real symptoms, just sore breasts and bloated, got a GP app in 2 days, so hoping to get the ball rolling. I agree with lots of you, it just doesn't seem real!
I was very worried about MC last week and I've read the entire internet (or so it feels) and I feel much more assured and calmer this week!
It's been so encouraging to hear all about your symptoms and experience!

Cineraria · 22/02/2015 13:48

Welcome kezod and all the other newcomers. Congratulations to you all. I have updated the Stats Sheet and think I have caught everyone's details but do add anything/anyone I've missed.

Ca55andra, I find it varies from day to day, being worse at the end of the week when I'm tired than weekends and the start of the week.

Is anyone else getting horrible indigestion? I'd never had it before I was pregnant although I did have it last time I was too and for me it is worse than the nausea. Every time I eat or even drink a sip of water, my stomach feels full and painful within moments and I start burping hugely or worse feeling like I need to burp but can't. The doctor last time recommended Gaviscon, which was good for meals but as I am eating little and often rather than having proper meals, wasn't helpful as taking it every time I eat or drink would mean I'd reached the daily limit before lunchtime! Another doctor has suggested Ranitidine which I took yesterday. I think it is helping to reduce how long I feel ill but I still feel grotty straight after eating.

Teapig · 22/02/2015 14:14

Hello ladies, may I hop on the October bus too?

I found out on Friday that I'm pg afterr realising that AF was late. It was surprise, DH and I hadn't been trying but we're very pleased all the same.

I have one DD who will be two in April so the gap is actually really nice.

I have no idea how far along I am as I can't remember when AF was last here, it was sometime in January. I think I may be 5-6 weeks along. I guess I need to register with the MW now.

Looking forward to reading through all your posts and being part of this group x

Toast85 · 22/02/2015 14:17

Not indigestion but constipation!
I tell you the other day I looked about 14 weeks with all the bloating!
My symptoms come and go, tender boobs seems the only constant but they're never awfully sore. The level of nausea and tiredness varies day to day.
Anyone else getting tempted to go baby shopping? I have been browsing travel systems online as my lovely parents have said they will buy ours for us. I got a bit freaked out when DH actually suggested going to town to look at them in RL today though. Don't quite feel ready for that, but I'm looking forward to when I do. And all the teeny outfits Smile

g0ldie · 22/02/2015 14:29

Thank you cinderaria for adding my details!

I have not reached 5 weeks yet but main symptoms are feeling very tired and emotional!
Congratulations teapig and welcome I've only just joined too!

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 22/02/2015 14:50

I've not mentioned it on this second thread yet, but there is also a secret Oct 15 baby group on FB. It is absolutely not supposed to replace this group but some people prefer the FB format. Quite a few people post on both.

Anyway, if you'd like to join that group too, please feel free to pm me with your FB url so I can friend request you to add you to the group Smile

batfish · 22/02/2015 14:59

Ca55andra I'm so relieved to hear you ask that - I am 7+2 today and sore boobs has been my only symptom. They were unbearable since a week before I got my BFP so from 3 weeks - and then 4-5 days ago they eased right off and now are still tender but so much better than they were - and it has been worrying me so much that it is a bad sign, I know they have to ease off at some point but I didn't think so early. I had a scan with a heartbeat at 5+5 so know all was OK then but I have been so stressed out worrying about what may have happened since. However I think there is safety in numbers so if we are both having the same thing then let's believe that we both have healthy little beans in there!

batfish · 22/02/2015 15:04

Oh and I was so worried and crazy that I actually peed on another stick yesterday fully expecting to see a faint line - was so bloody relieved to see a really dark one come up before the control line even did! I know it doesn't mean everything is fine as if anything had happened I would still have the hormones but it still made me feel better! That was my last stick......Shock

alien11 · 22/02/2015 15:27

I seriously can't stop eating rubbish!! Cookie, crisps, I did have some salad in my ham sandwich earlier though- yay!....as I mentioned before it's Weird as with dd as soon as I got the bfp I ate so well!
Maybe tomorrow being Monday I shall sort myself out!
Feeling less pregnant everyday . Mw Thursday will be odd!

MsAR · 22/02/2015 15:46

Hi teapig, welcome to the thread. What a lovely surprise! Smile

Ca55andraMortmain · 22/02/2015 15:52

Hooray batfish! I am relentlessly pummeling my boobs to see if they still hurt and then worrying that they only feel tender because I'm poking them so much...I am officially a crazy person....

MrsEvansAlmost · 22/02/2015 16:08

ca55andra I'm 8+3 booking in with MW on Wednesday, my boobs fluctuate between being unbearable sore and swollen to being a little tender. twinges today round my hips so I'm guessing were still expanding! terrified that bean has stopped growing as and my body has missed it! hoping seeing the midwife relaxes me a little! dp is a natural worrier and has gone in the complete opposite direction... he calls it 'optimism'. I don't know where you buy it but I want it!

Hi Cineraria
I think my stats are wrong on the sheet. I only have 1 child already. Not sure how to amend and add to it but I'm 29 and from The North West (Lancashire) if you wanted to add that to it? Smile xx

Teapig · 22/02/2015 16:24

Thanks for the welcome!

I can relate to the worry about symptoms some are having. I don't have any symptoms (apart from lack of AF and BFP), it was the same with DD and I spent my whole pregnancy worrying something would go wrong and it was fine. This time I'm determined to relax and enjoy it, easier to say than do I know.

The FB sounds good, my April 2013 MN group is still going strong on FB.

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 22/02/2015 17:05

That's great, teapig. My November 2013 group is still going too!

Theboxtrollsareallowed · 22/02/2015 18:53

Just saying hi to everyone - how is everyone feeling? I am feeling sick as a dog & not looking forward to work tomorrow (back to school after half-term). I am also ridiculously tired, have been going to bed by 8.

And really really want to fast forward to at least 10 weeks.

That's my update - look forward to catching up with everyone?

MrsEvansAlmost · 22/02/2015 18:59

hello box how far gone are you now? can't keep up with the post this weekend? warm water and a lemon slice are supposed to really help with the sickness or lemon and really cold water helps!

nausea has passed slightly for me I only had 3 wish days of being physically sick. Boobs aren't as sore today but jheeze I've been crampy today!! exciting news is that yesterday we picked up our puppy!! she's currently snoozing on my lap! odd to think I conceived when she was born! (8 weeks ago!) feeling a bit mad, puppy, house move, baby all in one year!! Grin Grin I like it hectic

hi boxtrollim good thank u. had a bad day of nausea today on and off and as annoying as it is was kind of glad of it. im returning to work tomo and worrying abit incase i get the same then too.

how are you doing? how far along are you now? id lke 10 weeks to hurry along too, im 6 tomo! think once gets to 10 we may tell a few more ppl unless i can hold out till scan.

i kp wondering if im furthrr along than i thought, my cb dgi done the day before af said 2-3 weeks, that was 8 of feb. so i must have been 4 -5 weeks then which would make me 6 - 7 weeks now. just wondering if its closer to 7 weeks Grin

Theboxtrollsareallowed · 22/02/2015 19:19

Mrs Evans a puppy sounds amazing - what breed? Good timing as when baby arrives puppy should be calming down a bit. Very exciting.

Will try the lemon - currently method is having to eat every two hours which can't really carry on much longer!

Gingerbread - I will be 7 weeks on Tuesday (I think).

I have booked a private scan at 10 weeks, so just counting down till then, have either you had your booking yet? Mine is not till I am 9 weeks feels forever.
