*time!
Yes *batfish it's a proper gym. I just don't want anyone knowing as it's so early and a couple of the instructors know my DH. Oh and my boobs haven't been sore for a while! I'm guessing I have 5 weeks until I get to see if baby has grown and is ok ... Time is dragging. Mw booking in appt on Thursday. If I was going by my lmp dates I would be 10'weeks when I see her but my scan puts me 2 weeks behind, wonder what she ll do re 12 wk scan dates as baby may have been tricky to measure at early scan and I don't want to be too far along for all the tests. Any thoughts?
Are you working *batfish? I found when I was teaching full time time didn't go so slowly but now I'm at home it's dragging!

I'm trying not to plan but can't help thinking in my head when I would like to try and get back into teaching and start getting my life back a bit.

batfish · 21/02/2015 09:34

Ah fair enough alien I can understand you not wanting to tell the gym instructors if you know them outside the gym. I am useless with exercise so have no advice I'm afraid!
Sorry if I'm being stupid but not sure I understood what you meant about the scan dates - based on LMP you are 10 weeks but you think you are 8 weeks?

Glad your sore boobs have worn off too, it's worrying me! I had a day yesterday of feeling quite uncomfortable around my stomach with a few mild pains so I was hoping it was good signs of things stretching and growing but I don't have any symptoms at all other than the boobs so it's stressing me out that they've almost gone back to normal! This time is torture!

batfish · 21/02/2015 09:35

Sorry I've just read that back and it sounded bad - I didn't mean glad your sore boobs have worn off because I think it's a bad sign - I meant glad yours have worn off as hopefully means it's normal and I'm worrying about nothing!

g0ldie · 21/02/2015 09:44

Congratulations Martingirl! Must have been lovely to see that flutter and find out your further along that you thought!

gingerbreadmam · 21/02/2015 10:21

batfish i wouldnt worry too much about boobs, im trying not to ha. last time mine were really sensitive and hurt loads this time theyre only mildly sensitive.

have had a few weird aches and pains too sometimes i think its when ive overdone it. other than that and tiredness i feel like i dont feel pregnant but i jus keep reminding myself pregnancy isnt an illness (altho i know some people do get illness with it like severe sickness etc) but just because youre pregnant doesnt mean you should feel ill all the time. and i calm myself down a little bit.

then when i do get a little ache of pain in my tummy i think well u r getting symptoms so stop panicing.

i think i said the other day too in my mmc the baby stopped developing at 5+4. my worst day symptom wise was 8+6. sorry not trying to worry anyone just pointing out symptoms arent always that reliable so try not to worry about them. im 5+5 today Grin

Hi alien, I also go to they gym and have spoken with my trainers. They have advised that low impact stuff on things like cross trainer and bike are fine and swimming is great. Classes and weights - stick to things that are low impact also, no heavy weight lifting or lunge jumps/squat jumps. After first trimester no lying on back doing things such as sit ups or bench presses as it affects oxygen supply to baby. Getting heart rate up and sweaty of find but don't push yourself to exhaustion and also don't start doing any regime you never did before xx

SecretlyobsessedbyLego · 21/02/2015 10:50

Also does anyone know do I need to switch my tea to decaf tea??

gingerbreadmam · 21/02/2015 11:03

think community midwife told me no more than 4 cups of tea / coffee per day and specifically said cups and not mugs. she also said caffeine is linked to mc so if u can drink decaffe id just switch tbh.

u might want to double check though as i dont drink hot drinks so only half listened to the advice.

batfish · 21/02/2015 11:21

Argh it's a nightmare, we worry about lack of symptoms but then having symptoms doesn't actually mean that all is OK! I want to have a scan every single day please!

batfish · 21/02/2015 11:23

I'm still drinking coffee but just less - usually at work I have a double from the nespresso machine but I've been having one of them decaf just so it's not as bad. I hardly drink fizzy drinks used to be addicted but quit a year or so ago so if I am having 1 or 2 coffees a day I am sure it is fine, the guidance seems to say it's OK to have some caffeine.

alien11 · 21/02/2015 11:42

Well my time has ended up being 20-30 mins so no time for the gym! So sat in front of tv eating coco pops instead!
Re caffeine I've switched to decaf at home and my mums but have occasional full caffeine tea at friends that don't know. My friend who's 34 weeks pregnant has full caffeine and drinks so many cups of tea a day!
I ate so well soon as had bfp with dd this time not so good, eating rubbish!

batfish I had early scan at what I thought was 7+5 going by my last period date but early scan put me back to 5+6 so not sure where I am. Today 7+4 going by scan dates.
Will try to push mw for a scan around mid march when I should be 12 weeks by lmp. From google I've seen lots of babies catch up to lmp dates.

It's scary re symptoms and mmc. Much easier in the olden days when internet didn't exist I guess! Roll on my 12 wk scan whenever it may be!

AnnaBegins · 21/02/2015 11:44

I love my coffee but we have a proper posh coffee machine at work and I'm sure it's stronger than 200mg caffeine! So I've been "saving up" my caffeine for the weekend as it were, as people at church and things like that think you're a bit weird for wanting squash from the kids drinks table! Just having herbal tea at work.

batfish · 21/02/2015 12:32

Yep totally agree about the Internet not helping with the paranoia - a few times I've googled for reassurance so for example I've wanted to see how the risks decrease at so many weeks when you've seen heartbeat etc. Only to come across stories of people who had a lovely healthy 6/7/8 week scan and then a few weeks later found out their baby had sadly died and they had no signs whatsoever of miscarriage. I wish I could unread a lot of the stuff. I just keep telling myself that if I feel OK and have no bad pain or bleeding then things are fine but in a lot of cases people don't even know. I hate being such a worrier because about all other things in life I am SO laid back.

batfish · 21/02/2015 12:37

My sister in law said to me have I been looking at loads of baby stuff online because as soon as she got her BFP at 5 weeks she couldn't stop looking at everything she wanted to buy. But I just haven't done any of that yet because am trying not to get too attached yet which is awful! Promised myself I would feel fine about things after my scan I will be having at 9+1 (14 loooong days away) so I really hope I actually do!!

However my sister in law also said that it never once crossed her mind that anything would go wrong, I really envy that and wish that was how I felt!

batfish · 21/02/2015 12:39

Sorry for 3rd post, keep forgetting things! alien yes I would definitely push for a scan a bit earlier so it would be 12 weeks based on what you think you are just in case the dates have changed again.

Taranta · 21/02/2015 12:57

Can I join up here? A bit late to the party! Have one DS and after a couple of MC am now 8 weeks, due 2 October. Had an early scan last week which showed twins but only one measuring right for dates and with heartbeat, the other little one measuring small with no heartbeat so alas think it might be a case of only finding one when I'm next scanned in two weeks. Currently feeling all the joys of the permanent nausea I got last time and wondering how I'm going to cope with a frantic time at work this next month Confused! Roll on week 12...

gingerbreadmam · 21/02/2015 13:02

is it your first batfish? i really wanted to look at things and buy something last time but didnt. as soon as i got bfp this time i said im buying something as i realy felt like i had missed out on that experience when had mmc.

i did join baby clubs last time and was sent some teddies they didnt make the mmc any worse. in fact we have kept them and they will go to future dc as a bit of reminder i guess.

alien11 · 21/02/2015 13:08

Thanks batfish I did just cryptically discuss it with dh over dd head haha.
I'll go with my lmp dates and see if mw will put appt for booking scan around 12 weeks. That would be same date as i have 12 wk scan with dd! Guess if I'm only 10 by then that they would have me back a couple of weeks later ?

batfish · 21/02/2015 13:08

Congrats taranta! This sounds like a bit of a bittersweet time for you knowing that one of your babies might not make it, I'm so sorry to hear that and hope you are OK.

ginger yes it's my first and I am very lucky to have never experienced mc but I'm worrying like someone who has! My best friend had 3 though so I've heard it all and read even more on the internet and I guess her anxiety has rubbed off. Just hope I'm being silly as I really want to be able to talk about it and make plans without clamming up thinking I'm getting carried away too early! I've known for over 3 weeks now so I can't believe I'm still only 7 weeks! Glad you have made yourself relax more this time Smile

townsender · 21/02/2015 13:15

Happy Weekend!
I've been too knackered to post mid-week, sorry folks. This week I felt very pregnant. I'm 8+4 today. Welcome Taranta I think we have similar due dates! Also wondering how I'm going to get through the next few weeks at work.
On caffeine, I've gone off coffee now, just don't fancy it and am sticking to various forms of tea - normal, decaff, lemon and ginger - depending on my mood. I think the link with mc is slightly dubious so as long as you don't go crazy I would stick with whatever you need to survive 1st trimester.

gingerbreadmam · 21/02/2015 13:22

i think its ok to worry slightly batfish. when i got bfp last time all i could see was baby at the end. when the worst happened and i found out the stats i couldnt believe it.

dont let it take over your pregnancy and what should be a happy time tho. hopefully 12 days will fly by and you will feel a bit more reassured then!

batfish · 21/02/2015 13:26

Yeah I guess I am almost detaching myself at the moment but I need to stop it because (this sounds really horrid so please don't think I'm a cold hearted bitch) I am not sure I even think of it as a baby at the moment. I have heard a heartbeat which was amazing and I am so so desperate for it to survive and grow but at the moment I just don't feel pregnant and can't imagine that there is a little living thing in there stealing my food - I can't wait to feel more secure with it all so I can realise that there's an actual baby inside me!

alien11 · 21/02/2015 13:37

batfish I feel exactly the same!! I also did with dd so it's normal.
Even though I saw a hb at 5 weeks I will don't believe it. Hopefully in less than a month I would have had a 12 wk scan and know either way if baby has grown well or whether it's not meant to be. Some people think I'm cold hearted with my views such as the fact I'm going skiing next week.

batfish · 21/02/2015 13:50

Glad it's not just me alien because I was worrying that I was being heartless and weird that I don't feel like I have a real baby in there. I don't think anyone should think you are bad for going skiing, you are pregnant not ill - and as long as you're not necking drinks at apres ski or throwing yourself down crazy off piste slopes there is no reason you shouldn't go and be active and enjoy yourself. I went on a ski holiday the day after I got my BFP at 4 weeks and I carried on as normal other than that I didn't drink or eat any of the amazing runny cheeses or cured meats yep that did kill me a little bit - I have always been a wuss with skiing anyway as am too afraid of hurting myself so I just took the same amount of care that I usually would and rested when tired so I wasn't pushing myself too much as I'm not very fit. Go and have a fab time, you will be fine.

batfish · 21/02/2015 13:53

Oh and I kind of did believe it for the day that I had my scan and it was the weirdest feeling hearing a heartbeat inside me - but then I went back to worrying that although things were fine on that day there is a lot that can happen since then and I may not even know about it if it does. So part of me is very excited about next scan (the optimistic part that is hoping all is good) and the other part is thinking I shouldn't get too excited in case it isn't good news. I'm doing my own head in now with all of this thinking!
