strawberry Thanks Strawberry. If we use Maggie it's in honour of my nan so has nice meaning too :) I was cooing over that suit in our store the other day! And some gorgeous outfits in Mothercare today too :/ I really hope this one is a boy... just so I can buy cute little gruffalo jumpers and superhero suits! I do love gorgeous girly stuff too but I've never been able to buy boys stuff before. It must be my turn now ;) Oh and before I had dd1, I had never had any contact with a baby or small child before in my life, she was the first baby I ever held! It comes so easily once you realise they're not as fragile as they look ha ha!
sangria I don't think you're mad, I swear I have felt a couple of movements! I'm 10+0! Nthing major but this is baby 3 so my muscles aren't any good any more and you know what feelings to look out for. I felt dd1 early and only realised what it was at my 16+3 scan when she gave a kick and I felt it at the same time!
Natalie I have one and I love it :) I've found his hb every time. You can tell the difference between your pulse, the placenta and babys hb. Baby should be pretty quick around 120-160 ish speed so unless you're incredibly unfit or have just run a marathon, it should be easy to tell apart :)
Congrats nutella!
alien I had to do the carbon monoxide too. I don't smoke or anything but mine went up to 2 which they seemed happy about. It was either a pale blue or purple little thing that fit in the palm f your hand, tiny cardboard thing over the hole to blow into :)
So sorry whatwould

alien11 · 16/02/2015 15:57

nutella fab scan photo!

Kittykitty05 · 16/02/2015 16:14

natalie mostly no symptoms, still nasty sour taste in my mouth which if I don't have a drink or sweet to suck can turn to nausea. Proper nausea went about 9 weeks, that's been so similar to dd but nothing like the horrendous sickness with ds, my bf is convinced therefore it's a girl! Oh also the protrusion that is my belly being my other symptom! I now have 2 outfits that hide it! If all is well Friday, we'll tell the kids Sunday when dh is off work, then the world may know. Thinking I may send hubby to tell mil without me, she already hates me, and will only have negative things to say and I can't be faffed with hearing it!!!

Snowflake15 · 16/02/2015 16:18

Only 1 baby in there! Measuring a day ahead 8+4, nice strong heart beat! We saw the membrane and she said something about it came from the right ovary and showed the ovary and that's got a special name I can't remember?

She said it's all looking positive so I'm over the moon! 4 weeks today til the 12 week scanSmile

shinjuku09 · 16/02/2015 16:31

So very sorry to hear that whatwould. Hope you have lots of support to help you through. The miscarriage boards on Mumsnet were very helpful to me with mine.

shinjuku09 · 16/02/2015 16:34

What lovely pictures snow and nutella! How exciting. Well done on surviving the first trimester, Nutella!

I've also had very similar pains gooorooo at the times my periods would have been due. It is very common to get bleeding round those times so guess cramps would go hand in hand with that

shinjuku09 · 16/02/2015 16:36

Re baby clothes, I really like something with a bit of colour. H&M are fab as are lots of other Swedish labels (you can buy lots of them from online boutiques). Asda also had some really bright baby clothes when DD was born and Mothercare not bad too. Gap fantastic styles and colours but don't rate the quality for the price.

AuntieDee · 16/02/2015 16:38

I've gone from a 34D to a 34FF and I'm not even 8 weeks yet :( On a plus I've had no morning sickness (yet)

NatalieBee · 16/02/2015 16:49

Spam Just counted a HB of 165! Why do i feel like im not going to move from listening to this today Blush I have angelsounds, literally best 20.99 i have ever spent!

Kitty Im the same i have a few tops which cover the bulge but thats about it, people are thinking ive just put on weight no doubt! What time is your scan? Mines 9.20, surely they cant be running late that early right.. Oh god i do not envy you! Ill be doing the same with my hubby! Itll make life so much easier when people know tho!

AuntieDee I got a few new bras from primark! £5 and gorg colours and so supportive! I just went up a cupsize and up a back size! So got a 36E best thing ever.

Snowflake15 · 16/02/2015 17:04

Also I just thought of a great excuse for giving up alcohol - lent!? Never usually do lent but a few people are doing it in my office so could be the perfect excuse not to drink at work dos?

DeladionInch · 16/02/2015 17:04

gap come up tiny. average sized ds was in 18-24 before he was 1, yet still in 9-12 everywhere else! even for tops/coats

LittleSesameSeed · 16/02/2015 17:07

So sorry whatwould, please take good care of yourself xx

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 16/02/2015 17:15

whatwould I am so sorry to hear your news. Please look after yourself.

I think I need some new bras too but am currently a 30D which is hard enough to find so really hope I end up bumping up to a 32!!!

sauvblanc21 · 16/02/2015 17:22

snow I too had a cheeky little early scan today at 8+1! Couldn't resist! Smile Healthy little speckle in there, heartbeat thumping away merrily! Tres exciting! Have our fingers tightly crossed for 12 weeks now - counting down the days!!!!

nutella beaut little pic! Hurrah!!!

spam and alien - Yep spam I had the machine you describe, guess I had to do it as I used to have the occasional cig when out having a drink - but got zero as I say.

whatwould - thinking of you, look after yourself xxxx

SpamAnderson · 16/02/2015 17:26

Yay natalie! I know, once I find his hb, I don't want to move! The old wives tale says a hb over 150 is a girl, under is a boy, it's been right with my dds but this one came up around the 160 but I am adamant it's a boy Only time will tell I suppose! Mine is a midwife style one, with the little probe. It was just under £30 but much cheaper than the £100 private scans :) I've listened to him for the past 3 nights but am going to be good tonight and give him a break ha ha! My skin is really thin above my pubic bone as dd2 gave me horrific stretchmarks there so 3 nights with the probe on it has made it sore :(
Went looking for maternity trousers and bump bands today but nowhere had anything other than skinny or super skinny jeans! Seriously? I'm a fatty and not just that, a pregnant fatty, I don't wanna squeeze myself in bloody jeggings or some such, all I want is some nice linen trousers like Dorothy perkins used to do in the maternity range but no, they have nothing in store any more, new look had naff all yet they used to have nice stuff and bump bands in stock. Grrrrr. It's not on I tell you! Ha ha! I cannot wait for our holiday in May (Yorkshire), fingers crossed the heat will be here again like last year and I can live in maxi dresses and flip flops! I shall probably be in my flip flops by april though to be fair ha ha!

Chuch21 · 16/02/2015 17:50

So sorry whatwould Flowers

Goo I had pains and light bleeding around 8 weeks... Had an early scan referred by my GP by the EPU, so might be worth nagging a bit to see if you can get one?

All was fine though, it's not unusual, fx for you xx

StrawberryCheese · 16/02/2015 18:28

Sorry whatwould Sad

nutella I showed DH your scan pic and he said 'woah it's huge'. He must think it's a full grown baby already Grin idiot.

I have done nothing today, slept so badly last night that a nap was in order this afternoon. I've taken to not wearing a bra at the weekends (my weekends are Sunday/Monday) just for a bit of relief. I'm a 28E but when I take them off I look like I've been beaten up I'm so red.

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 16/02/2015 18:43

Crikey strawberry, you're even teenier band than me! Where do you get bras?

Feeling so bloated, has anyone found anything that works? Rennie just doesn't cut it.

Hadn't appreciated the effect this would have on general fitness. Had a train dash today - for those that know London, outside bank station to on a train at Paddington in 22 minutes flat- I was a mess! Best friend is ObGyn and says lung capacity does reduce due to hormones? Why oh why!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 16/02/2015 18:45

I found Tesco own brand fruit flavour better than Rennie's

SpamAnderson · 16/02/2015 18:48

strawberry no bra is bloomin heaven at the moment! I've just ordered the genie bras, £10 for 2 which is a massive improvement on my £30 a bra I normally have to pay! On last measurement I was a JJ cup, I dread to think what they are now :/

Stanway · 16/02/2015 19:09

Lastnight I used to be 30D and was bursting out so went to Bravissimo to be properly fitted on Saturday. Came home with a 30F. So looks like they do narrow back sizes and they were really helpful.

In other news we had an offer accepted on a house today so fingers crossed we'll be moved a few months before EDD... touch wood. ..

SpamAnderson · 16/02/2015 19:16

Yeah Bravissimo go down to really small back sizes, I used to be 26 at one point but still with E cups. I'm fat but have skinny ribs for some reason :/ They're fab in there too :)

NatalieBee · 16/02/2015 19:30

Just thought I'd ask about pregnancy notes?! Obviously I'm 12 weeks and filled notes and such out at my booking appointment but she never actually gave me them, I assume we get these at the hospital at the 12 weeks or later? (Clearly a first time mum eh?) Has anyone else got theirs?

GoooRooo · 16/02/2015 19:34

Thanks Church. I have a private scan booked for Weds anyway so unless I start bleeding I'll hold out for that I think. The cramping hasn't eased but maybe a night of sleep will help. I still feel really nauseous which I hope us a good sign.

Tiredstressed · 16/02/2015 19:52

I was given my notes at booking in Natalie. It might vary in different parts of the country - I am in the West Midlands.
