Hey just thought alien that's why you didn't have many symptoms!
My tits are killing me tonight! They are like bowling balls !
And alien we are almost the same and ill bet you anything they will date me later than my period date they always do, I had a thought that this one will be born around the 6th October!?
With my other 3 I was 4 days late, 12 days late and the last one was 2.5 hours off his due date! Quite a mixture reallySmile

eallison88 · 09/02/2015 20:05

laura my boobs are massively painful too (and massive!). anyone else have a nipples that's particularly sore?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 09/02/2015 20:10

Yup. Both of them! Confused

Hare5260 · 09/02/2015 20:16

Great news alien Flowers
eallison oh my God yes. Lanolin creme is my best friend at the moment!

Lauramum23 · 09/02/2015 20:37

Yes nipples too they stick out more and they look darker -weird!!!

ljjeffro · 09/02/2015 20:46

I have my first midwife appointment on friday. what kind of thing should I expect? is it just blood tests and medical history? having my 12 week scan next Wednesday and im not gonna lie im a bit worried as I still have no symptoms apart from sore boobs and nipples!
my sister measured me for my bridesmaid dress for her wedding in may today and I feel so guilty cos I've not told her im pregnant yet. im trying to put her off ordering them till the end of next week as we are planning on telling people soon after the scan.

GoooRooo · 09/02/2015 20:47

No blood tests at a first appointment ljjeffro. You'll do a urine sample and then she'll ask yours and your hubby's family medical history.

Becca83 · 09/02/2015 20:55

My boobs are huge and painful too, need to invest in some new bras.

So tonight I noticed a bit of spotting when I wiped, it wasn't much, but definitely spots of red blood. Had some mild cramping along with it. I'm 7 weeks today. Any thought? Please reassure me!

Whatabout · 09/02/2015 21:01

I had bloods and urine at booking and full medical history.

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 09/02/2015 21:02

Evening all! Pain in the arse commute home, was stood for 45 mins on the train and felt very lightheaded. Don't feel like I can ask for a seat though due tono obvious bump! Roll on12 weeks when I can wear my 'baby on board' badge!

Good news though, scan date has come through! 10th March so 4 weeks tomorrow. Very exciting! Still no news from the midwife RE booking appt. Think I might chase now I have the scan date through, we're Oxford so not sure if anyone has any experience round here?

MyNameIsSuz · 09/02/2015 21:03

Bloods at my midwife booking too, though at mine she couldn't get a vein and I have to go and get them done at the doctors - my boss is getting fed up of all these appointments, I'm going to have to tell her

GoooRooo · 09/02/2015 21:08

Your boss will have to suck it up Suz!

Looks like bloods (or not) depends on your area then!

Jackieharris · 09/02/2015 21:37

Lalunya when you are on mat leave you are classed as working for the purpose of tax credits so if your DPs incone isn't high you could get the childcare part of wtc. Remember to ask them to calculate it in your current years income not the last year (ie 15/16 not 14/15). You will also get extra with another DC.

Mrs- assume you will get smp unless told otherwise.

As for me I'm not entitled to any mat pay or leave. I can take 4 weeks unpaid 'parental leave' and use 2 weeks holidays. Maybe I'll get a few days off sick! Tbh I don't want a long mat leave anyway. But I'm not kidding myself that going back full time after 6 weeks will be hard.

Jessica32 · 09/02/2015 22:08

Alien I'm so pleased for you. Shame we don't share a due date now but I'm relieved your baby seems to be fine and a strong heartbeat too.
I will also be a stay at home mum. I'm a painter (art not walls)

Kittykitty05 · 09/02/2015 22:40

Becca spotting can happen for a number of reasons and is considered as normal, even if worrying. Sometimes it's just a scratch! Only thing to do is keep an eye and ring your EPU in the morning, hope it's all okay tho

Boodlymummy · 09/02/2015 22:59

YES to whoever mentioned a brain like fluff. I am studying at the moment as well as working, and finding it difficult with my new preggers head! Exhaustion and nausea also hit me big time this last week (am 7+5). Napped for much of my weekend. Struggled at work today. Spoke to lovely friend in HR at work and got key to an old medical room so I can slope off for lunch break naps from tomorrow, hope it helps!

MyNameIsSuz · 10/02/2015 06:15

Lastnight, we're Oxfordshire too and no scan date still at 10+2, maybe the JR is just running behind?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 10/02/2015 06:26

So tired! Another busy day today. Club at lunchtime and an extra curricular A level lesson in my free period. Tomorrow's another almost full day (half an hour free), course in London on Thursday (don't know how commuters do it!) then another almost full day on Friday. I suspect I will sleep most of half term. It can't come soon enough.

alien11 · 10/02/2015 07:20

becca83 at my scan yday the sonographer said spotting around 6/7/8 weeks can be normal and nothing to worry about. But get checked out if accompanied by bad pains & if it changes to heavy bleeding x

DeladionInch · 10/02/2015 07:45

omg 9+1 and my first decent sleep in weeks! only spoiled by ds needing a nappy at 3am Hmm hope that's the end of the stupid dreams for a while

SpamAnderson · 10/02/2015 08:17

deladion 9+1 here too :) was having a lovely sleep when dd1 strolled in just before 2 s she'd wet the bed :/ DH then started snoring as he'd been disturbed. I then had a horrid dream that I was carrying dd2 upside down and dropped her on her face and knocked 5 of her teeth out :( it was horrible :( we rushed her to the dentists and they put them all back in. Felt so bloody real :)
Saved some risotto from last night for breakfast as I thought as I'm struggling to eat, the carbs would fill me up for longer.... Nope, sick again. Never had this much sickness before, hoping its a good sign of strong hormones (and a boy in there!) the pork scratchings are calling to me again :/ and the strawberry laces, nom nom! The only things that don't seem to make me nauseas!

DeladionInch · 10/02/2015 08:23

ha that's why we're still in nappies at night - he's been dry in the day for months but wakes wet every morning (wakes on weeing or wees on waking, we're not sure) plus occasional wet nappies that wake him at night. much easier to wash a nappy than a whole bed imo

DeladionInch · 10/02/2015 08:24

oh and I'm pukier second time round too. might mean girl, might just be the extra tiredness of toddler wrangling lol

Lalunya85 · 10/02/2015 08:26

Thanks jackie, I will look into that.

Is anybody else off dairy products at the moment? I had the same with my last pregnancy (only much much worse), but can't eat anything with milk, cheese, yogurt at the moment. So strange, especially considering that we are meant to be eating a lot of calcium now...

Becca83 · 10/02/2015 08:33

Thanks kitty and alien! There's no more this morning and I've just chucked up my breakfast, so taking that as a good sign. If I see anymore, I think I'll call the epu.

This sickness really is awful. I don't think I achieved anything at work yesterday. Where is this glow they speak of?
