Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 21st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 38th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Well some people decide not to bother expressing and some people also change their minds about bf so it's not a bad idea to wait. I have only used mine once in three weeks. If she decides never to take a bottle I will be raging that I bought it! If you need to express in hospital for any reason they can give you a pump.

Manual or electric is total preference. The avent one you have been looking at is a good wee pump, especially if you can get the one which comes with both elec and manual parts. Manual is handy for expressing in the toilet on a night out Grin . I find electric easier in general because I'm lazy. If you only want to give a bottle when you go out a manual should be fine. If you want to give one every day then probably electric would do the job quicker.

LaLaLaaaa · 08/02/2015 17:53

Thanks wil that made it all really clear :)

I'm getting kicked! I can feel something exactly where the baby is - it's like a pulse/flutter and it's soooooo weird!!!! Hee hee :)

townsender · 08/02/2015 18:40

Purple Woohoo!! I'm so pleased for you. 1 is good, much much less risky. How far gone are you now?

Tee, I've no idea about the sterilising kit, but I do have strong views on the baby shower thing. If you don't want one then tell them. Admittedly I am slightly influenced by the fact I've lost a baby, and have therefore read far too many horrible stories from others in the same position, (sorry if I'm ruining anyones Sunday night), so the thought of having celebrated baby's arrival in advance fills me with horror..... but also, it's another consumerist American import (apologies again to any Yanks I might have offended). Rant over.
Maybe you could have a nice night out with friends, without the presents or the baby theme?

La, ditto, we've just booked 2 nights in a country hotel in March too! Devon though, we won't bump into each other Grin. So exciting about the kicks!

Stoat buddy where are you? Hope you're alright and having a fun weekend. I've have a bit more spotting this weekend, but it is just spotting so I'm not worried. Can't wait for scan on wednesday though.

RPopz · 08/02/2015 18:47

Great news Purple Grin

Tee - I would politely steer them towards a better use for £150!! You can get a cold water steriliser for 4 quid and a 12 pack of TT bottles for a tenner... I'm bfing DS and I always wanted to express so that DH could feed him... But in 5 weeks I've managed to do it once! So we've used one bottle so far... Some babies refuse the bottle after being breast fed too, so you might have to do a bit of trial and error to find a bottle he likes, so a massive pack of the same brand might not necessarily be cost effective. These are just my experiences obviously but, still seems like a lot of cash to potentially waste!

Zyla where are yoooou???

willywallace · 08/02/2015 20:46

I so hope Zyla is ok.

My back is killing me from shit posture when bf and annoying sling. Would love a massage.

DulcetMoans · 08/02/2015 21:16

Evening viroids!

Could you suggest a different way to spend £150 tee? It's a lovely offer of course but doesn't sound necessary.

Break sounds great la, I'm on the look out too. Glad you're getting the movements. Mine have moved on to more like pokes now. Very exciting!

Any chance of a little break and a massage in a few weeks wil? Something to look forward too! Easier said than done I know. We can babysit!

teejayem · 08/02/2015 21:31

Yeah, I've pointed them towards the amazon baby wish list this evening, I feel dreadful but we have said on numerous occasions that we don't expect anything, but if they'd like to, please ask... There's a host of things I'd like for £150 (Snuzpod being one of them).
The baby shower is a bit more tricky from a family politics perspective, which I won't go into here. Unfortunately consumerist american imports are part and parcel of it. I'm going to ask we just have a nice afternoon tea.
Fingers crossed Zyla has done her baby!

zyla where arrrreee yooouuuuu????

Stoatystoat · 08/02/2015 21:43

Hello! Just catching up towns! Sorry you've had spotting again, good that it's just spotting but aargh it is stressful! I'm also having a scan on Wednesday.

My weekend was ok...been to DH hometown & stopping with ILs. MiL is excited but being just right with everything, worried about me I think. FIL is comedic with his gaffes and attempts to make small talk. The first thing he did was ask if we were pleased. No, we're 35, married for forever and solvent. Also inquiring as to whose name DC will have. Hmmm, let's try and get a bit further along shall we?! I spotted a bit more on Friday night which made me anxious. DH was at the pub - he probably goes about a dozen times a year, half of those with me - so that was crap timing. The bastard forgot his key and I had to let him in. Good job he doesn't do it often and has been waiting on me hand and foot. My thrush is annoying me tonight, grrr.

Loving seeing some of you on FB!

We will give holidays some thought after the 12 week mark.

la my sister tried both kinds of pumps but while she found bf easy, expressing not so much as her flow was too slow. The manual one was invaluable for nights out though. There was one night she wore a JUMPSUIT to dinner and had to dash to the loo to get rid.

lildottie · 08/02/2015 22:31

stoat I assume you kept your name when you married then? sorry the spotting hast let up. gx for Wednesday. I assume still not painful?

also thinking of you here zyla.

Stoatystoat · 08/02/2015 22:38

No not painful and non existent the last 24 hours. But I'm sure it'll be back. Yes I kept my name, DH and I will cross that bridge when we get there. It's a non issue for us, especially as it's hard to imagine getting to pick names at the moment, I imagine both will go on the birth certificate tbh.

Purplecircle · 08/02/2015 22:44

I'm 7+4 now and massively relieved to see a wee bean in there...I burst into tears!

That £150 thing is half price in mothercare I noticed today. Still think it's an awful lot that you might not need though. They could buy a crib for that or a car seat.

DH loves my pram so I think we will definitely have that one. It's gone up £50 since I saw it last! It's a silver cross pioneer in chilli red

Also worried about Zyla now. Hope you're ok lovie

Stoatystoat · 08/02/2015 22:49

Ah purple that's lovely

LaLaLaaaa · 09/02/2015 02:57

Zyla I really hope you're ok. Logged on hoping for some news x

ZylaB · 09/02/2015 07:30

I'm here!!

Baby Hannah Emily was born at 8.22am on Sunday 8/2/15

Very brief birth story...as you know I stated induction on Friday when I was 36 weeks. The 24 hour pessary did very little, they couldn't break my waters sat am, so gave me stronger tablet pessary thing. After being in a couple of hours I started getting strong regular contractions. Went in bath to help them and when I got out 45 mins later was having them every 2 and a half mins. Thought yay!

They broke my waters and put me on drip to keep things going, I dilated to 3 or 4 cm and then everything stopped! They kept putting strength of drip up (epidural for the win!) but contractions got less regular. We dunno why!! Then baby's heartbeat started slowing, and she got bit distressed so they said emcs to deliver heron early hours of sun morning. We had to wait as when they stopped the drip baby's heartbeat went back to normal, so 3 other emergencies went first! It was a busy night for them lol.

So at 8.22am she arrived, 6lb 6oz, crying and perfectly happy! No need for neonatal, she got to stay with me :). Her blood sugars are fine but we will be in a few days for them to keep and eye on us both :)

Am knackered, but so so happy!

LaLaLaaaa · 09/02/2015 07:33

Yaaaaaaaay!!!! Congratulations zyla!!! So so happy for you! Can't wait to see what she looks like xxx
