Bolly I'm so sorry Sad

StrawberryCheese · 03/02/2015 08:38

Bolly Flowers

Anyone else enjoying plain crackers for breakfast? Whoever said symptoms kick in at 6+ weeks were right. Yesterday, the queasiness just didn't lighten up and today may be the same except I have to go to work. Sometimes I wish I could actually be sick and I might feel better but then I tell myself not to be so stupid.

monkeymoonpig · 03/02/2015 08:48

Im now 10wks and still suffering terribly with nausea, mum scared me this morning by suggesting it may be twins! She is a twin and it skips a generation in her maternal family Shock eeek! Scan 3 wks today so we shall see!

JessTT · 03/02/2015 08:53

So sorry Bolly, look after yourself x

I am definitely going for another homebirth this time round and would not hesitate to recommend it for those who are thinking about it! Tried with my DD1 but she was back to back and ended up needing a bit of help (although discharged myself pretty much straight away!), then had a lovely relaxed homebirth with DD2.....she was born in the pool and was just so lush to all snuggle up in own bed after. Am hoping for same this time round x

sebsmummy1 · 03/02/2015 08:54

I have to say before my scan I thought the same monkey as my nausea has been relentless. The scan assured me there was just one in there thankfully (at my age twins would be bad news).

sebsmummy1 · 03/02/2015 08:55

I have the birthing pool and liner, never used, all ready for my last pregnancy but unfortunately I wasn't allowed to home birth and doubt I will be allowed this time either. Going to have to stick it on eBay I think.

Snowflake15 · 03/02/2015 09:28

Omg nausea has struck this morning, thought I was gonna puke on the train thank god I had a mint humbug to suck on made me feel a bit better! Just managed to stomach a banana and some water, really hope I don't like at work - or if I do pray I at least make it to the toilet first! Could be a dead giveaway!Blush

alien11 · 03/02/2015 09:36

6 + 5 here and no real symptoms still! Have a bad feeling and no idea when scan even is.

Jackieharris · 03/02/2015 10:10

I wondered about twins too given that I've been much more symptomatic this time. Being older, taller, multiparous, overweight, I know all these increase the risk but it's still tiny.

Although my symptoms do seem to have waned this week, but that may be due to me resting more and finding good ways to prevent nausea.

One of my worries with a potential hb this time is that my labours progress quickly. With this being my third it could all be over in under an hour! I'm going to talk to the hb team and hope they can give me assurances that they will arrive on time.

Anyone else had quickish previous labours?

eallison88 · 03/02/2015 10:11

Bolly, so sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself.

I can't easy anything without throwing up. I'm feeling incredibly sorry for myself! Part of me feels like I should man up and part of me wants to go crying to the doctor, though I know there's nothing they'll do other than tell me it's part of being pregnant.

I'm just so hungry!!!

LittleSesameSeed · 03/02/2015 10:18

So sorry Bolly!

I've been MIA recently due to being run off my feet but also feeling rubbish all the time! I'm 9+5 here and still have 2 weeks to wait until my booking in and who knows how long until my scan! Really need the reassurance of the scan!
I was half through my cooked breakfast yesterday when I remembered I couldn't have runny eggs- so it's good to see other people have eaten them too!

alien11 · 03/02/2015 10:23

jackie my labour with dd was 3.5 hrs... Didn't even know I was in labour to begin with

Lauramum23 · 03/02/2015 10:32

Sorry bolly x

My first labour 19 hours, second 2.5, 3rd around 5 all with hormone drip thingy ,it will be interesting to read the notes if they still have them that is??

Lalunya85 · 03/02/2015 10:37

OH MY GOD. I found out last night that I am pregnant, probably 9 +3. Totally unexpected. We've just celebrated our DS's first birthday last week. I did not expect to be doing the whole pregnancy/giving birth (ARRRGH!) thing again so soon. I'm in shock.

And a little bit excited. Hello everyone... ;)

alien11 · 03/02/2015 10:46

Hiya lalunya! Congratulations. Wow to finding out so far gone. Not long until a scan for you then Smile 6+4 myself and no symptoms so a long drag until booking appt then a scan!

Lalunya85 · 03/02/2015 10:50

Was just reading through your thoughts on HBs vs MLU and hospitals. I had a lovely birth (well, relatively) at the local midwife-led centre, with a pool and a big bed for all of us to snooze on afterwards. I would do the same again, though also considering home birth as the first labour was super quick (4 hours), so next one might be even faster??

I would recommend to sign up with the home birth team though, even if you don't necessarily think you will end up giving birth at home - it means you will have most of your routing check ups (blood pressure and baby's heart beat) done at home - SO much easier than going to the hospital every time, especially towards the end of the pregnancy when these visits really pile up...

Whatabout · 03/02/2015 10:58

Locally your community midwife does one hb visit prior to labour but all other appointments are at the health centre as usual. Amazing hiw different it is in each area!

Lalunya how did you find out so late? Quite jealous of missing the really early weeks!

Lolababy00 · 03/02/2015 11:04

Hi I've been reading thread and I am due 12 th of September with baby no. 5. I have had an early scan as I had a tiny bleed and all is well.
I'm 40 and just over 8 weeks pregnant ... Morning sickness appeared at 6 weeks .... Found chewing strong gum keeps away the awful taste in my mouth that makes me feel sick and small bland meals seem to be staying down.

monkeymoonpig · 03/02/2015 11:16

lauramum they definitely should have your notes. After DS was born i requested a copy of them, had to pay and sign a disclaimer (they were worried i was going to sue!) They're really interesting, i wanted to see if he was back to back, def worth requesting a copy Smile

Lauramum23 · 03/02/2015 11:30

How much did you pay for them? Out of interest Smile

Lalunya85 · 03/02/2015 11:33

whatabout I am still breastfeeding my son so never really "missed" a period - it just never came.

It's strange though - I had horrible all-day sickness with DS, and am just a little nauseous this time around. I don't think it will still kick in, at almost 10 weeks?? Fingers crossed.

Lauramum23 · 03/02/2015 11:36

I'd love to miss out this boring first bit!

monkeymoonpig · 03/02/2015 11:41

It was a certain cost per page of copying, think my notes were around £50 but thats covers ALL maternity notes from start of pregnancy to detailed labour notes and all the ridiculous amount of rubbish i wrote too lol my mw at booking in had them all too, she thought it was great that id written loads of things lol. Wont be bothering this time - must have had too much time om my hands last time! Grin

Lalunya85 · 03/02/2015 11:45

lauramum It's true that I won't have to wait for ages for that first appointment - but I also haven't been taking any vitamins, and have had quite a bit of alcohol and even the odd cigarette and LOADS of runny eggs over the last couple of months. So a bit worried and annoyed with myself... Well, not about the eggs really, I think I might just keep having those... Shock Blush Blush

Lalunya85 · 03/02/2015 11:47

alien - Ah, those first weeks can really drag on right? Hope you're not feeling too sick so can at least enjoy the thought of growing a little bean inside.

My GP can't give me an appointment until two weeks from now (I'd be 12 weeks!) so I've just referred myself to the local hospital. I hope it's a good one, just moved to the area so no idea what's where and what's good...
