Thanks lalunya but I'm extremely worried as sore boobs have totally gone along with the hunger. Really really worried now. Found local place that does scans for £60, but would have to wait few weeks as only 6 weeks. Would imagine 10 weeks would be better so 3.5 weeks to go. Might give them a call & see if they can book one for just before I go on holiday

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 03/02/2015 12:03

Well booking in appointment yesterday was very uneventful, she did take bloods but was excellent at it so even with my shy veins it was over in seconds. No mention at all of my weight (BMI 36) and classed me as low risk - phew.

More importantly it's scan day today - v nervous, especially as it is at 5.15 so heading into real sicky territory, packing a sick bag for the drive home!

Lalunya85 · 03/02/2015 12:06

Fingers crossed for you alien - i guess symptoms coming and going is probably not unusual, but you'll feel much better once you have the peace of mind of knowing for sure. Good luck!

Lauramum23 · 03/02/2015 12:12

Looking forward to your scan news have tea will survive (I should have had that name tea is my fave drink I've had it since a baby!) and I won't be cutting down as I never did with the others...,..!

Hope scan goes well haveteawillsurvive

So pleased to see there are home birthers on here and also some who are still breastfeeding through pregnancy. I've had quite a few home births and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone even slightly interested. I'm also feeding my youngest, who else is still feeding?

Lalunya85 · 03/02/2015 12:45

stuffthenonsense - I'm not sure what to do about breastfeeding actually. How have you found being pregnant and feeding at the same time (it sounds like you've done it before?). I'm not sure it's helping my tiredness and I want to give my body time and energy to grow the new baby! Any tipps? Also wouldn't want to feed my DS right up till the birth of the new baby, as I would then probably stop feeding him and focus on feeding the newborn which could be upsetting to him. Curious to hear your thoughts.

Lolababy00 · 03/02/2015 12:50

stuffthenonsense I'm really interested in a home birth as this is my fifth pregnancy( 4th was at hospital , induced due to CS and very restricting) however my DP is worried about things going wrong. I hope you don't mind me asking but were your children at home, did everything go to plan ... Just need some reassurance that's it's a positive choice when discussing with DP

DeladionInch · 03/02/2015 12:51

Self weaned a year ago :(

stuffthenonsense · 03/02/2015 12:54

Lalunya-- yes it can get tiring, I tend to eat more and try to test (haha) but I'm not ready to give up yet. My last labour was triggered on my due date by my son having a long feed-sleep. Ive always tandem fed and found I've never had any jealousy.

stuffthenonsense · 03/02/2015 12:57

Lolababy, yes my older children were at home, they have either slept through or played together upstairs. With my last baby I had a doula just in case they played up, but they didn't, they were amazing and came running to see their seconds old sister. My husband was a bit nervous first time but now he wouldn't even consider another hospital birth.

banterbus · 03/02/2015 12:59

Hi all! I had my first GP appointment today. i'm 6+6 and they gave me a flu jab, filled out a mat exemption certificate and referred me to the midwives. They said to expect my booking in appointment in about 2-3 weeks and then scan between 10 and 12 weeks. Exciting stuff! Still no real symptoms over than some mild sick feelings but I keep reminding myself I'm just lucky so far rather than worrying something is wrong.

Interesting to see all the discussion about home birth. I hadn't really considered it because my flat is tiny and I only live a 5 min walk from the hospital! But I do like the idea of it if circumstances were different.

Lolababy00 · 03/02/2015 13:00

Stuffthenonsense , thanks .... It really seems to be the route I'd like to take as long as CS doesn't appear again.

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 03/02/2015 13:24

Im feeling very non pregnant today at 9 weeks. is this normal?
I have such a fear of having another MMC. I have 4 weeks until my 12 week scan when ill actually be 13 weeks. im driving my self insane. I know what will be will be.

Whatabout · 03/02/2015 13:27

rainbow I'm 8+3 today and having the same worries. My knicker checking levels have increased and I might have had some pink cm earlier. :(

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 03/02/2015 13:40

It really is awful isn't it Whatabout!
I keep trying to tell myself that there is nothing I or anyone can do to possibly change the outcome at this moment in time.
I had a scan at 7+1 and all was fine so I knew id be worrying again as my MMC was at 8 weeks. I can see me booking in for another reassurance scan just to keep me ticking over til my 12 week scan.
My boobs are still tender, but they have been worse and ive had no sickness today at all, and even managing to stay awake and alert at work which is a first for a while.

misssmilla1 · 03/02/2015 14:11

blimey, I feel ropey today; I seem to have a day of "oh, I don't feel too bad, result!" followed by one big dizzy trying not to barf fest day. Nearly fell asleep last night in evening class Blush I think I need a bag of sweets in my handbag or something to tide me over the nausea and tiredness. Am noticing that switching up when I take my vitamins is easing the nausea a bit, that and mainlining ginger nut biscuits

Whatabout · 03/02/2015 14:18

Think I am going to have to tell work before my 12 week scan (if I get that far). We are going to Vienna to a conference for four days on the 3rd March. I will be 12 weeks on the 28th feb so scan may well not have happened.

mrsdos · 03/02/2015 14:30

whatabout I think I am going to have to tell work sooner too. I think my manager has guessed, his wife is also pg at the mo! But mainly as I keep asking for time off for dr/hospital appointments. They are happy to let me go (at the moment) but have started to ask questions

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 03/02/2015 14:39

I've told my boss and two direct reports, I'm feeling so rotten I've had to work from home and couldn't think of a plausible enough lie! Plus in the worst case if it doesn't work out I won't have to do a lot of explaining. God I'm nervous for this scan this evening...

Whatabout · 03/02/2015 14:42

Because of my spinal issues I hsve always maintained we would only have one child. I even got away with food poisoning a couple of weeks ago. I'm also going to have nothing to wear.

mrsdos it is so hard when you have to ask for time off when you don't want to explain. Gah early pregnancy.

shinjuku09 · 03/02/2015 14:48

Can't remember who it was who said they couldn't eat anything but if you really can't eat anything at all it might be worth a chat with your gp. Some are more willing to prescribe anti sickness tablets than others, but if you really need something they should give you something to help.

Chuch21 · 03/02/2015 15:00

New symptoms over the last couple of days, I literally can't stop eating and I have ridiculous heartburn! (If old wives tales are anything to go by this baby is going to have a mighty 'fro! Wink)

milla I'm the same, one day I forget I'm pg, the next I pay for it!

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for headache relief? I'm cautious of trying anything...

Whatabout · 03/02/2015 15:07

Paracetamol is fine, or the 4head rub. Keeping well hydrated is important too but I'm sure you know that.

Kittykitty05 · 03/02/2015 15:28

somewhere my symptoms also diminished at 9 weeks and worried me due to previous mmc, but it's apparently normal as the placenta has started its job and progesterone reduces.

Had scan this am, was amazing as bubba was waving its arms and legs around loads and wiggling lots, of course I cried! I'll try to put pic up in a bit.
