Morning everyone,
doctor I had my booking in on Wednesday. They will check your height and weight and will ask you to give a water sample, then ask you A LOT of questions about you and your partner health wise and they will take some bloods to check for hiv, syphilis, hepatitis etc.
I also got my 12 week scan booked for march too.
You will get your maternity file to take home so you can take it to all future appointments and a lot of leaflets and bounty packs.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 24/01/2015 08:01

Thanks. Already got scan appointment and they come to your house here. Would prefer to go to them as we're moving at the end of March and have started packing! Oh well. Wish I didn't have to wait until 10th March for scan, I just want to know everything's ok.

sauvblanc21 · 24/01/2015 08:11

Fingers tightly crossed spud - hope it stays just spotting & mw can reassure Monday.

Told my parents last night - got to restaurant and my Dad said "Shall we share a bottle of red or white?". Hubbo & I were like "Weeeeeell...." They were SO THRILLED & excited, lovely lovely, just had to swear them to secrecy and temper their excitement a bit - just in case! Would be much nicer if us ladies didn't have all this worry at this early stage though eh! Smile xx

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 24/01/2015 08:14

Oh well in that case I have no idea! ha
is booking a private early reassurance scan not an option for you? I had one on Thursday just to check there was a baby growing in there! And there was! Smile

DoctorDonnaNoble · 24/01/2015 08:20

Somewhere not going to book a private one. Had one with my MMC and they were really rubbish. If I get bad news I want to be in the hospital. We're moving house soon and I don't want to pay £100 to have my heart broken again. Hmm

Jen0226 · 24/01/2015 08:21

Gosh this thread moves to quickly - but so reassuring that everyone is going through similar things to me.

I had my early scan yesterday (due to previous ectopic) and all was well, measuring 7+2 with a heartbeat. Now it's 5 long weeks to 12 weeks mark.

Got my booking appointment next Wednesday to look forward to though :)

MisBit1 · 24/01/2015 08:26

We have the midwife coming to us today so will let you know what a home visit is like later.

I'm waiting for DH to wake up and help with the housework. Feeling a bit sick but not sure if it's just anxiety about meeting the midwife. Also have painful hips today, mostly in my right side, can't get comfy. Anyone else had this? Maybe it's sympathy pain for my mum, she's having hers replaced today!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 24/01/2015 08:28

Thanks Misbit.

butterflycats · 24/01/2015 08:46

spud try not to worry? Sprint suppose the bleeding was after sex was it? That can be really common xxxx

butterflycats · 24/01/2015 08:47

Predictive text.... Grrr! Should say try not to worry, don't suppose!

MyNameIsSuz · 24/01/2015 09:34

somewhere, I was expecting to get my notes from the midwife too as that's how it worked last time, the horror when the doctor handed them over at my initial appointment - I hadn't taken a big enough bag and had to brazen it out past someone I know in the waiting room!

Possibly tmi, but anyone else's nose stepped up production? Mine is all blocked and so runny, urgh!

8 weeks tomorrow and still no scan appointment, I'm getting impatient! I keep having to arrange stuff at work not knowing if I'll actually be able to make it or not. When did everyone else get their appointments through, was it after the midwife appointment?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 24/01/2015 09:38

I got a phone call from midwife and letter with scan appointment both on the same day. 3 days after I called midwifery to self-refer. GP was rubbish last time so I cut out the middle man! Smile

Snowflake15 · 24/01/2015 09:54

Why am I torturing myself watching one born every minute already! Hmm

DoctorDonnaNoble · 24/01/2015 09:57

Suz - meant to say, yes nose is on overdrive! Usually only this snuffly in Summer when the oil seed rape is in bloom! And gosh I get dehydrated!

Tallalime · 24/01/2015 10:05

The clinic phoned me back and I have an early scan booked for 5th Feb! Should be around 8 weeks I think. Fingers crossed all is as it should be Grin

How is everyone this morning?

Stanway · 24/01/2015 10:13

Marginally less nauseous this morning- tried the crackers in bed before you get up thing. Have totally gone off red meat. Anyone else?

And ditto re runny nose and dehydration... not ideal-I'm a singer.

Told a close friend yesterday. Such a relief. She had a baby last year so really helpful and supportive.

My other friend, however, is upset that we're saying we can no longer go to France with her in the summer. .. killing me not to explain why but she'll understand eventually. .. roll on 12 weeks!

Am so fed up with feeling rubbish, but this thread puts everything in perspective; so sorry that some of you are suffering so terribly.

Any tips for coping with ms?

NatalieBee · 24/01/2015 10:23

Stanway I'm the same at the moment I'm scared to move from my bed because I feel so so sick! Thank goodness it's my weekend off! I am currently having an ice lolly in bed, I've said it before but it really does work for me!

As for the immune system I am so worried I'm going to pick something up! I'm a nurse on such a busy ward and there's so much going around at the moment Shock my poor immune system can't handle anything else Wink

Moffit · 24/01/2015 10:28

I'm so thirsty too, all the time but especially at night and first thing in the morning!

6+4 today and I have my Doctors appointment on Monday to get the ball rolling, have also just booked myself an early scan for two weeks time when i'll be 8+4. Going to be wishing the next two weeks away now!

Jackieharris · 24/01/2015 10:42

My booking is next week and I'm dreading it.
I'll refuse tests and will be treated like s* for it just like in my other pregnancies, from people who don't understand the concept of informed consent. I'm more anxious about the hostility at antenatal appointments than I am about birth.

Symptom wise the nausea seems to be wearing off as long as I eat little and often. I'm taking it a lot easier too so I'm not getting as tired.

Moon84 · 24/01/2015 10:50

Hi everyone, I'm about 7 weeks and getting a bit of brown watery blood when I wipe. I was in hospital last week with blood and pain in my right side but thankfully ectopic has been ruled out as scan showed sac in the right place. Have been getting pains all over my stomach for the last couple of days which I keep putting down to trapped wind, sometimes the pain is so bad I can't sit down or walk and the only thing that helps is to lie down. Am due another scan on Monday but wondered if anyone has felt the same? Am hoping the blood and pains are completely unrelated but does this sound like it might be the start of something serious?

FeelTheNoise · 24/01/2015 11:52

Hello I'd like to join please Smile
I'm probably 6/7 weeks, looking enormous, especially by the evening. Can't envisage keeping this a secret for the next 5/6 weeks! Especially after dry January is over...

Boodlymummy · 24/01/2015 11:56

I rang my local EPU (St Georges in Tooting) to see if acceptable to use their walk-in scan clinic just for early reassurance, and midwife said yes and was very nice about it. Advised I wait until 7 weeks, so that's my next goal, eeee! Am enjoying a solo train journey up to a friend's baby shower. I expect I won't get much calm quiet travel once parenthood starts,so making most of it!
Joining this thread is really helping me go with the flow and freak out less, so it's been a good week, though sorry to see troubles and losses for some.Wishing everyone a restful weekend.

alien11 · 24/01/2015 12:18

Hi all :) can I join please? No idea how far I am guess around 4 weeks going by last period. The really special thing about this pregnancy is it's exactly the same dates as my DD 4 years ago. If I'm right with dates it will be due on her 4th birthday! Been ttc for 7 months so over the moon. Very very scared but fingers crossed all will be ok. Have a skiing holiday next month then a weekend at horse racing festival so plenty to keep me busy. Just a shame can't enjoy a few drinkes! Ironically I also went skiing when pregnant with my DD ha.
I haven't contacted doctors yet, I'm taking a digi test on Wednesday to see if I defo am ( even after 5 positive tests!) to see how far I am along then will contact the doctor.
I feel fine, having little sharp stabbing pains but I remember these with dd so not alarmed at the mo.
Have an issue tonight- I have my first boozy night out with new mummy friends.. They re all coming here for drinks before we go arrghhhh. Not sure how to deal with it?! Any tips?!

brickiemum2 · 24/01/2015 12:44

I have friends coming tonight and I will be drinking fake g&t' s.....plain tonic with ice, lemon and lime. As long as I'm pouring them no one will ever know Wink

DeladionInch · 24/01/2015 12:58

Dry January, or 5:2 diet and today's a fast day?
