Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Kittykitty05 · 23/01/2015 12:04

Thanks for posting Elley I'm feeling the same, about 8+5 and feeling much better the last 2 days. I've got no work yesterday and today so was expecting to sit feeling horrendous on sofa but I've been up and about and about to go swimming I feel that good!
You've prompted something from my memory tho that the placenta starts producing it's own hormones around 9th week. Much better to focus on that than any negative reasons for feeling less sick!!!!

SpamAnderson · 23/01/2015 12:10

Unfortunately there are some midwives and medical professionals who have very little tact or bedside manner. Yes babies can be lost at any stage, but statistically, chances are very good. A baby with a heartbeat at 10 weeks has a 99.4% chance of making it successfully to term. And like loves says, recurrent mcs are quite rare.

Cornberry · 23/01/2015 12:27

Hello london ladies! boodlymummy I'm in streatham so not far from you at all :) spam I'm getting weird dizzy spells on and off too. If the GP isn't worried it's probably normal?

Does anyone else have to get up to eat? I'm starting to freak out about how I seems to be constantly having to force feed myself while constantly feeling sick and starving. It's such a headf*ck. my body demands feeding every two hours now so I woke up at 12, 2, 4 and 6 last night and had to force food down to avoid puking :( I've also put on about ten pounds in three weeks even though I feel like I'm only managing mouthfuls. Anyone else have this?

butterflycats · 23/01/2015 12:31

Morning lovelies!
I stumbled across this and hopefully will put some of our minds at rest about miscarriage xxxx

Spam, I agree with you, my midwife is horrible and has left me wondering if/how I can change!
Good to hear others are starting to feel a bit better Smile I was worried about symptoms fading dispite reading that placenta should start kicking in soon. I did the last CB digi I had - not sure why as I know I am further along than 3 weeks but it was still reassuring.

StrawberryCheese · 23/01/2015 12:34

spam I had a funny dizzy spell yesterday. It passed after a few minutes but wasn't pleasant. I nipped to the loo in work and stood leaning against the sink for a bit. I had a sudden bout of tiredness and thought if I sat down I might fall asleep on the toilet! I'm not sure I'm eating enough, I know I'm not supposed to be 'eating for two' but my usual consumption of a bowl of cereal for breakfast then a sandwich, banana and cup of soup for lunch doesn't seem to be keeping hunger at bay like it used to. I walk to and from work which is 50mins each way and is zapping all my energy.

I did another test yesterday, I got curious, had very dark line, so that's three now. I'm going to call the midwife on Monday. 5 weeks today if my dates are correct.

ShootTheMoon · 23/01/2015 12:57

Spam, I'm not getting too much dizziness but a friend had it terribly with her first - in fact she had to stop driving for several weeks as her attacks were so bad. She never had even a hint of an explanation from MWs and GPs (though they did test to rule a few things out).

It seemed to be a positional thing as she felt best lying forward over a bean bag. Maybe the baby was pressing on something. Anyway, she hasn't had it this time.

She hasquitelow BP so I wonder if it was a sudden BP spike/drop making her feel so odd.

nutelladipper · 23/01/2015 13:19

Elley I posted first thing pretty much the same. I'm 9+3 and the symptoms are getting less and less which I'm thankful for but it worries me too (can't win! Haha)

squiish · 23/01/2015 13:29

Afternoon, thanks again misbit for the details. Called earlier and have an early scan booked in for 18th Feb Grin I just want to feel as though its real.
My tiredness/nausea/butterflies have not been as obvious the last two days, but midwife reassured it comes and goes.

Was considering telling my parents this evening, we haven't told anyone yet. Im scared!! I'm the youngest at 26 so feel like they're going to be shocked/disappointed but then really happy? Eep.

Lauramum23 · 23/01/2015 14:07

Don't know if anyone saw my previous message it's quite busy busy isn't it! Anyways when do you think it's a good time to ring doctors bout 6 weeks??

StrawberryCheese · 23/01/2015 14:33

Hi Lauramum, I hear it's best to call the doctors as soon as you find out you are pregnant but I've given myself a week to get the used to the idea and am phoning them on Monday when I will be 5+3. I guess the earlier the better if there is a long wait for seeing the midwife.

FlyingSpud · 23/01/2015 14:36

Laura yes that's a good time to see the Dr and arrange your booking in appointment. The midwife won't see you until around 8 weeks though.

To those who are getting dizzy - YES. It's a nightmare isn't it? I commute two hours each way through central London and trust me, dizzy spells on a packed tube in rush hour are not fun. I'm looking forward to 12 weeks when I can sport my baby on board badge. However the lady who offered her seat to me this morning was very kind - I refrained from telling her it's only bloat at the moment!

FlyingSpud · 23/01/2015 14:37

Nutella if you're due in sept how are you 9+3?! Am I being daft? I'm due on 7th and I'm 7+3

sebsmummy1 · 23/01/2015 14:49

I felt very light headed in the gym today. I am on an extremely light program so didn't expect to feel quite so ropey.

FlyingSpud I am 8 weeks today and due on the 5th Sept according to my app. Sometimes people choose to post in two antenatal groups if they are due very early in the month or late in the month if that makes sense due to babies arriving early/late. I suspect due to my Advanced Maternal Age I will be induced and so I will probably give birth in August (if this pregnancy goes that far obviously).

squiish · 23/01/2015 14:49

lauramum I called my Dr straight away as I was so excited, midwife booked in for 7+4.

Lauramum23 · 23/01/2015 14:52

Ok I'll wait a few weeks and then ring them, it's almost 7 years since I was last pregnant so I'm just gonna have to get used to it again I suppose! Feels like forever away till 12 week scan, but it's so scary that before we know it 40 weeks will be upon us!

Mummyboo30 · 23/01/2015 14:54

Spud if I remember rightly, Nutella is actually due at the end of August, but is pretty sure she will last until September. Smile

FlyingSpud · 23/01/2015 15:21

Ahhhh I see! Got it Grin I thought I was going mad.

I'm due 7th but will be having ELCS due to previous hideous labour and EMCS. So hoping for a 1st sept baby.

Matilda17 · 23/01/2015 15:28

Hello,

First timer here, almost 6 weeks. Told some close family and friends, very excited but also don't want to get to get too excited. Was told I had polycystic ovaries so didn't want to waste time but conceived straight away so a massive shock!

monkeymoonpig · 23/01/2015 15:37

I saw doc at 5+2 was surprised to see mw booking in at 6+5! I asked why it was so early as it was 10wks a couple years ago with DS, i was told Shropshire Trust trying to see asap so blood tests can be done earlier and spot any potential issues tgathat may need treatment. Nice to see mw early but only downside is it feels such a lonnnng time until 12wk scan! (Ill actually be 13wks as booked a day when OH is off)

ElleyBear13 · 23/01/2015 15:58

Thank you everyone for the kind messages! spud me and nutella got our bfps on the same day and are due at the end of august. :) i found i could relate more with the september thread as august is more ahead (ie at 14/15 weeks wereas im at 9!) :) xxx

Pigriver · 23/01/2015 17:31

So sorry for those experiencing losses. Such sad news x

Had a panic myself today. Spotted a bit of brown blood/discharge this morning. Not come to anything but my first flap! Feeling a bit less divi but only if I eat almost constantly....

nutelladipper · 23/01/2015 17:37

Yep spud. Originally my due date was 31st August and I always have late children! Mw decided my due date was 25th August. I suspect the scan will date me at 29th! Haha.

I felt the Aug board seemed way ahead of me when I got my bfp in Dec.

X

MisBit1 · 23/01/2015 17:38

Glad you got one Squiish Grin I'm thinking of telling my parents this evening. Am 33 and got married last year, this will be our first and the thought of telling my parents has made me feel weirdly anxious. Think I'm just having an emotional day, everyone at school annoyed me today. I don't swear often but had a real urge to tell a colleague to f* off in front of YR and 3 KS2 classes! Took ages to calm down after.

SpamAnderson · 23/01/2015 17:42

Thanks ladies! I've never had this before but I'm wondering if it's the water infection, mixed with pregnancy and the fact that while I am eating, I'm not eating the amount I used to. I'm classed as obese so I do need to lose weight but I'm eating when I'm hungry (forcing myself to as I don't really fancy anything most of the time) but I've lost 5lbs. Plus I'm 29 now (waaaa) and had my eldest at 21 so the body has got a few more miles on it this time ;) )
mrsdos there's no reason you can't change, if you don't like this mw and don't feel that you are a good match, you should be able to change to another one. They have mw teams etc, it may be that you need to see another mw at a different surgery or even at their 'base'. The way I see it, pregnancy is a wonderful but very stressful time and if you don't feel comfortable with your mw, you're not going to be as open with her about your feelings.
