That's good news spam

waldo booking really varies depending on where you are. I'm just over 8 weeks and not had a booking app or 12 wk scan date. When I chased it the receptionist pretty much told me to back off and I may not hear anything till 10 weeks! (Glad I've seen epu last week and they were nice!)

whereswaldo · 22/01/2015 12:12

thanks kitty that's what is making me consider a reassurance scan. NOt sure I can wait another 5 weeks

lovesmycake · 22/01/2015 12:38

yay spam wonderful news

butterflycats · 22/01/2015 12:41

spam that's amazing news, so happy for you :)

Thinking of everyone else with bleeding and pain xxxx

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 22/01/2015 12:42

So sorry to read of the losses on here this morning. Hope everyone looks after theirselves.

I'm just back from booking in apt and early scan and baby is measuring 7weeks and 1 day with a lovely strong heartbeat which we were able to hear on the machine! Amazing!
May have a uti tho. Waiting on results for that!

SpamAnderson · 22/01/2015 13:06

So sorry to hear your news tiny

Mummyboo30 · 22/01/2015 13:55

Sorry to hear that Tiny, what a horrid few weeks you've had. :(

Great news Spam! :)

NatalieBee · 22/01/2015 14:19

Spam and rainbow that's fab Grin!

Just wondering if anyone has any heatburn tips? I'm on aspirin for recurrent MC, so I can't take any remedies around when I take it which is now Hmm and my chest is burning like crazy Confused

SpamAnderson · 22/01/2015 14:23

With my dds, the only think that work for me was milk natalie. I used to take a 2 pint into work everyday and swig it at my desk.

MisBit1 · 22/01/2015 14:27

So sorry to hear your news Tiny.

I've been reading a lot on here about people having early scans so had a look into local options and discovered that one local branch is offering free early scans with trainee sonographers. There would be two trainees who are halfway through training and need practice dating scans and they would be accompanied and monitored by a senior sonographer. Would you go for it? I'll be 7 weeks on Saturday and they have a slot free on Monday.

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 22/01/2015 14:40

I would misbit assume they must have the trained ones there teaching so in the unlikely event they can't do it properly I'm sure they'd step in and finish it off.

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 22/01/2015 14:41

How did I miss the bit about senior sonographer - yes I definitely would.

duckbilled · 22/01/2015 14:43

I would misbit

whereswaldo · 22/01/2015 14:57

i totally would misbit what a great opportunity and nice to help out the people training too; it can be hard for them to get people to agree to be guinea pigs.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 22/01/2015 15:01

I wouldn't. Because I had bad news at my early scan last time and because it was at a private scan place it felt really unsupported and like they just wanted to get me out of there and get back to telling happy news to people. It just wasn't set up for bad outcomes. Whilst I have to wait for one at the moment, if it is bad news I'm already at the hospital and can get straight on with the decision making.
I'm going to ask if I'm allowed an earlier one though as 10th March is AGES away and I'll be 13 weeks then. Would be nice to have one scan in the first trimester!

TerrysNo3 · 22/01/2015 15:07

misbit I would go for it! where are they doing that?

It's in Cheltenham and they usually charge £80. They give you a gift certificate for 50% off 3D and 4D packages by way of thanks too. Need to see if DH can have time off to join me first.

Jackieharris · 22/01/2015 15:16

I've been taking corsydal for a couple of days. Never thought not to tbh.

Tooth is much better now, thankfully.

I didn't realise early scans were so common.

In my last pregnancy we only got 1 the whole time!

I knew someone who refused any scans because she wasn't convinced about them being risk free. I must admit I'm not keen on having more than I really need. But then I'm quite an anti-medicine person generally.

Maths88 · 22/01/2015 15:34

Told me head teacher - well deputy head actually. I was so nervous but he was genuinely lovely about it and really supportive! Such a relief! In fact I think he seemed more enthusiastic in our meeting than me - I was worried that coming across too excited would be a bad thing!

Now just to get through the next week til my scan - it feels really far away.

Dh is out with work tonight so I might treat myself to Wagamamas!

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 22/01/2015 15:35

Early scan had never even occurred to me until this thread... And now I've one booked for 3 feb Grin oh well!

shinjuku09 · 22/01/2015 15:38

Oh no Tiny I am so sorry to hear that, I really hope that it turns out to be a false alarm. Also thinking of you too Poco.

spam that's lovely!

gennibugs · 22/01/2015 15:44

Tentatively pokes head in...

Hello all, I'm hoping I can join you all. Some of you may recognise me as a long timer from the buses on the conception board. I finally got my BFP yesterday - still can't take it in.

I think I'm 4+4 with an EDD of 26 September. My first so everything is new to me. Do I need to add my stats somewhere?

I'm really sorry to read all the sad news here this morning, Thanks to you all. Such a fraught time.

Look forward to getting to know you all.

ShootTheMoon · 22/01/2015 15:44

misbit could you PM me the details for the place in Cheltenham please? It's only 10 miles further away than the place I've booked and would save a small fortune!

I was adamant I wouldn't book an early scan and that I could be patient, but my DH was going to be away for the 12 week scan (can't change it, he's military), and he missed the scan with DC1 so I thought sod it, let's book an earlier scan when he can come along! Plus this way I will feel a bit more comfortable about telling people before 12 weeks and less weird if people at work figure it out.

squiish · 22/01/2015 15:49

spam great news!!
misbit can I also have the info as I work in Chelt Smile would loove to get an early scan!!

Tallalime · 22/01/2015 15:56
