Just catching up on the day - so sorry sparkly Flowers

I'm really hoping for a faster labour this time. Last time my waters broke spectacularly Hollywood style but DS didn't appear for 24 hours. I'm absolutely convinced this is because I freaked out when they said I was 6.5cm and off to the delivery suite (I was sure they'd send me home as it wasn't really painful yet) and my labour literally stopped! Bounced on a ball for hours then eventually gave in and got the drip put in. So as I know I've done it before I'm hoping I'll be more calm this time round ??

MyNameIsSuz · 19/01/2015 17:52

Both times I've found green tea with lemon pretty good at getting things moving, and a nice substitute for proper tea.

Have finally figured out what I want to eat and requested my ultimate pregnancy feel-better food from the supermarket tonight - mini twisters! soothing ice cream and fruity enough that they're almost certainly good for you. I can't wait til he gets home!

I think this week, despite only being 7 weeks, I'm going to have to tell a couple of people - my boss I think has twigged and I want to tell my SIL before she guesses as she had a mmc last month and I think she'll be upset. I'm already looking a bit pregnant, no idea how, last time I made it to 20 weeks before telling work and nobody guessed!

Kittykitty05 · 19/01/2015 17:58

My previous deliveries were ds 6 hours, dd 4 hours both start to finish. Bit worried for the next one as we are best part of an hour from any hospital that still has a maternity unit (closest has closed since ds and dd born). Guess it'll be action stations the minute it starts!!!

Sooooooo tired today it's unreal.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 19/01/2015 18:01

Should I be worried, I don't have constipation, quite the opposite. I'm really loose when I go. I haven't been sick yet but I can taste bile at the back of my throatConfused. I'm not emetophobic but not far off!!

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 19/01/2015 18:07

I'm the same drdonna, was last time too think it's just how it affects you.

I have been feeling unusually good today, a lot less nausea... Have I enjoyed the reprieve - hell no I'm now worried why I'm not sick. Sigh, pregnancy joys!

pocopearl · 19/01/2015 18:10

doc so jealous, even though I know it wont really happen I have visions of straining for a poo and my poppy seed sized baby coming flying out! My DS1 likes to wonder into the bathroom at the moment and make poo straining sounds. He is learning what animals make what sounds, so barks for dog, roars for lion and when DH says what noise does mummy make he does the constipation groans...
The annoying thing is I keep thinking how was I last time, and feel abit of a fraud for feeling sick at the moment so waiting to see if my ms is as bad as last time... Months and months of trying for a baby just to put ourselves through 40 weeks of this.

Maths88 · 19/01/2015 18:14

DoctorDonna I was exactly the same until the end of last week and now it's completely switched!

Treaclepie19 · 19/01/2015 18:24

I'm the same poco! Sitting there thinking I hope baby stays put! :p

Less symptoms today. Gah!

StrawberryCheese · 19/01/2015 18:31

Constipation is normal daily life for me thanks to IBS so I'm hoping for a little relief with the opposite! My stomach is churning and gurgling away like mad.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 19/01/2015 18:34

I'm actually just glad to know there was a reasonable explanation for my embarrassingly gurgly stomach on NYE!

spamanderson · 19/01/2015 18:42

havetea my experience second time was amazing. First time I was really panicked and stressed which I think made it all take so much longer. Second time, the pain was at least quadrupled but I was so calm, we forgot the car seat and had to turn round to go back home to get it, I was booked for a home birth but no midwives available so had to go into hospital, I didn't care, made no noise during labour, no pain relief needed, it was a million times better the 2nd time around. I think the first time is so much scarier as you've got no idea what it'll be like, you've never had the pain before etc. my pain was completely different 2nd time though. The pain was in my stomach with dd1 but with dd2 it was all in my bum and thighs, more painful but I was so much more relaxed :)
doc I'm exactly the same, I normally poop every couple of days or the occasional daily one, but I'm going at least twice a day at the moment, it's bowel heaven I tell ya ;)

spamanderson · 19/01/2015 18:45

strawberry I have IBS too so go between not being able to go (and feeling like killing my DH when he 'boasts' about his 3rd poo of the day!) to going every few minutes :( about 2 weeks was my longest, I nearly cried every day as I was desperate to poop! I remember saying how stupid it was that something most take for granted could cause so much upset!

Boodlymummy · 19/01/2015 18:50

Teeheehee I am enjoying this afternoon/eve's poo chat! Pootastic! Being in this thread is calming me down already, ahhhh.

GailTheFish · 19/01/2015 18:56

Hi everyone. Have finally caught up - you lot are prolific! Hello and congrats to everyone who's recently got their BFP.

6 weeks today here and I am knackered - today has been completely unproductive at work. Not sure whether this is normal January tiredness or not, but all I went to do is curl up on the sofa with a blanket and snooze, needless to say that tonight's plan of going to the gym has been shelved...

TinyPawz · 19/01/2015 18:59

Has anyone else stopped taking or cut down on their antidepressants? Feeling kind of miserable today. No sure if it is pregnancy related or withdrawal of my happy pills.

StrawberryCheese · 19/01/2015 19:02

Where else can we have poo chat?! It's certainly not something my friends and I discuss Grin

spamanderson nice to know I'm not alone.

Treaclepie19 · 19/01/2015 19:09

I have IBS too!
Gail, I'd definitely say baby tiredness not just January! I'm the same... zzz...

spamanderson · 19/01/2015 19:25

gail I'm 6 weeks today too :) blooming exhausted! DH is on late shifts this week so he let me lie in until 9 while he took the dds to school :)
tiny I'm on duloxetine, but for my anxiety. I stopped taking them about 6dpo as I 'knew' I was pregnant. I read through and they can cause heart problems in the foetus etc so it wasn't worpth the risk. I have noticed in getting anxious sometimes but nowhere near as bad as how I get if I've missed a tablet before. I'm trying to chill out as much as possible. Work is my big source of anxiety but as I'm self employed I can't avoid work :( I was signed off shortly after 25 weeks with my previous pregnancies due to my stress levels. I have a wedding about 3 weeks before my due date that I'm really not looking forward to doing.... Going to give her the option of cancelling me and finding another supplier... Just in case!

Stoatystoat · 19/01/2015 19:28

gail have you been able to go to the gym since BFP? I'm a regular gym goer/runner but my main pregnancy symptom has been a bad back which stopped me going much last week. That's mostly better but the cramping has put me off going. I'm only 4 weeks.

Im sleeping poorly, like 1-6 which is not great for me. I have an hours commute and it wiped me out, tiredness has just hit me like a truck.

tiny I cut down and stopped ADs last year sp I know it's hard. Are you having any support? I wasn't pregnant but I know the physical symptom were grim.

Haven't pooed today...first day without one though the last few have been a challenge.

TinyPawz · 19/01/2015 19:36

I was on 100mg of sertraline for depression and anxiety. I stopped taking these a few weeks ago, the craziness with ex and this fuzzy feeling is making getting through the day difficult.

brickiemum2 · 19/01/2015 19:39

Does anyone have a name for their bean? By that I mean a pet name for just now that won't eventually be their real name ?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 19/01/2015 19:40

Not yet. Waiting for scan so that it feels real!

TinyPawz · 19/01/2015 19:43

Flump.

spamanderson · 19/01/2015 19:51

brickie ours is little Jimmy.... As DH is really hoping he is a he and has a little 'Jimmy' he he!
tiny have you spoken to your gp about stopping your tabs? There may be a less risky alternative or a way to wean? If you're quite dependant on them, stopping could be quite a shock for your system..

banterbus · 19/01/2015 19:57

Hi everyone, can I join you? I'm 27 and got my bfp yesterday. I am 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant-not that I'm counting Wink Due date about 27th September. First pregnancy so no idea what to expect but have enjoyed reading all your comments and I can definitely agree with the excess wind! I tried to call the doctors today but they said they don't do advance appointments I just have to call up on the day at 1pm if I want an afternoon appointment. So I'm sure I'll spend my whole lunchbreak tomorrow trying to get through...
