Ladies who are finding that you've been, er, struggling a bit in the bathroom - have you tried propping your feet up on a stand or a seat? I saw it recommended on here by a geriatric nurse (nurse of geriatrics I suppose!) and it works every time, especially for my toddler if she has a few issues. You'll need a stand in the bathroom when the babies are potty training anyway Grin

Worth a try anyway! I second lots of fruit, water, and veg. Don't have high fibre stuff like weetabix as it will just make it worse - but fruit and veg fibre is good.

ShootTheMoon · 19/01/2015 14:09

squiish I know it's real because I put on 2.5lbs over the weekend and am now way above my normal weight; it's madness! I don't know what I do in pg to get so fat - except gain a massive amount of water weight. I am still training hard several times a week.

Thankfully a friend gave me five pairs of maternity trousers yesterday - I'm going to be in them very very very soon at this rate!

bonzo77 · 19/01/2015 14:28

ah. found you... and breathe....

45Monty · 19/01/2015 14:29

booboobeedoo11 I'm faring okay. I've finally gone two days without the horrible chills I was having. I'm walking around with balloons as boobs I could probably go without a bra! Fortunately no nausea, but really no appetite either. No aversions to food, just not hungry. Not tired, but when I do sleep I get some nightmares. Each day is an adventure in what symptoms will present. Cramping still happening and some faint pink last night. Being a first timer, trying not to panic over things. Fortunately no more wind! Or, at least for now! lol

Bippidee · 19/01/2015 14:34

Ladies who are on number 3 DC with this pregnancy, may I ask if your labours with previous DCs were similar? I had a quick waters breaking to giving birth (7.5 hours) - is it likely to be faster this time or about the same?

brickiemum2 · 19/01/2015 14:39

1st baby...induction (pessary and drip) 14 hours from established labour to birth
2nd baby.....induction (pessary only) 2 hours from first contraction to first breastfeed

Jackieharris · 19/01/2015 14:40

I posted on the last thread. Only got bfp last Monday. Called the hospital to book in and was given an appointment next week! And a scan date the middle of next month.

I'm quite surprised they're so soon. Last time I think I was about 16 weeks before I had an appointment.

A couple of things I'm worried about: will they classify me as 'high risk' because I'll be 35 and have a bmi of 31?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 19/01/2015 14:46

Wish my appointments were so soon! My booking in is 4th February and scan date is 10th March. Hoping I might qualify for an early scan, one of my friends worked at the EPU I went to with MMC and she said they would see me if I called. Not sure that's true but at 5 +3 it's still a little early for that.

nutelladipper · 19/01/2015 14:51

1st baby - induction (pessary and drip) 36 hours - 6 hours in established labour.
2nd baby - few niggles, waters broken - 3 hours to delivery.
They say the established labour (so 5cm - 10cm) is halved so i reckon yours would be a few hours from waters breaking this time bippidee

I was always told by my first ever midwife - wee leaning forward and it will completely empty your bladder. Boo leaning backwards as it will help! i've never forgotten that and it certainly helps!

xx

Bippidee · 19/01/2015 14:52

Thanks brickiemum!

Jackie, last time I was 35, and high bmi. I was deemed high risk, but I also have a family history of dvt. I think the age and BMI by themselves are not scored high enough to be deemed high risk. My hospital scored me s 4. Give high risk the score is 3....

sebsmummy1 · 19/01/2015 14:58

I have my booking in appointment next Tuesday as I will be 8 weeks and I think she wanted to get me on the books. She asked that I fill in the green notes beforehand so I need to pick up a Bounty pack from the Doctors.

Jackieharris · 19/01/2015 15:09

Bippidee I'm on my 3rd, they have been quicker each time.

Being too quick is a bit of a worry.

monkeymoonpig · 19/01/2015 15:33

I was 26 hours from pessary to birth last time round (10hrs in established labour) so hoping it will be quicker this time!

Chuch21 · 19/01/2015 15:39

Having an awful day today :( I just feel sick and tired, cannot concentrate at work so it's procrastination station which I find makes the day go so much slower!

I just want to have my scan! Booking appt isn't until 11th Feb and they've said I can have a dating scan but as it's just at the surgery I'm not sure if I'll actually get one... Also (excuse my ignorance) what is the difference between a dating scan and a regular scan?!

ShootTheMoon · 19/01/2015 15:50

chuch I won't be booking in until late Feb as they don't want to see me until 10 weeks (actually I'm going at 9 to keep an eye on my BP... and I think my dates are almost a week ahead compared to the way the NHS calculates). And my scan is mid March!

My first labour was quite quick - 8 hours start to finish and the last bit was delayed quite a lot by panic transfers and medication for my BP. I could have pushed a lot sooner I think. And more effectively. I am a bit worried because we're a lot further away from the hospital now. If my BP stays low I might think about a home birth or the local MW unit, otherwise I think I'm going to push for consultant led care. I was 8.5cm within 4 hours of the first contraction so I guess it could be quite speedy next time, what do you all think?

Maths88 · 19/01/2015 15:52

So constipated these past few days and the pain is agony. Been eating tonnes of fruit and veg and drinking juice too. I finally managed to go today but really struggling. Tmi but I'm usually the other way.

Also whoever mentioned the wind - it's so embarrassing! Dh thinks it's hilarious!

Head busy all day today so gotta wait til larer in the week go see him. 10 days til early scan and it can't come soon enough!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 19/01/2015 16:05

Just lurking until Wednesdays scan, when I am convinced that they will confirm there is nothing left as I just think I bled too much last week.

Re those suffering with awful sickness. If you think you have HG then search on Facebook for a group called HG warriors. A friend set it up after she had 2 horrific HG pregnancies. They offer lots of support and have recently turned it into a registered charity and they will be able to help anyone suffering with it.

spamanderson · 19/01/2015 16:10

bippidee mine were different.
Dd1 31.5 hours from first contraction ( well from noticing contractions!) to birth. Born at 11 days overdue, not induced.
Dd2 8.5 hours from first contraction(woke at 3.30 with contractions every 3-4 mins) to birth :) born at 6 days overdue, not induced.
I'm hoping for another nice quick one this time :)

DoctorDonnaNoble · 19/01/2015 16:11

Damn it! I've just realised what I want to eat. The red velvet cheesecake from the deli next to the hotel we stayed in on our mini-moon. It's just off Times Square. Damn. Confused

StrawberryCheese · 19/01/2015 16:14

Hello everyone Smile I am 4+3 with my first. Only found out last night. I have sore breasts, acid reflux and generally feel a bit weird, like having constant butterflies in my stomach. I havent made a booking in appointment yet, im not quite ready for making it official. Still not totally convinced that it is real!

ShootTheMoon · 19/01/2015 16:49

hello and welcome strawberrycheese

DoctorDonnaNoble haha I do that all the time, I don't even have to be pregnant :D Right now I want the Pad Thai I ate a lot in the Thai islands. Carby deliciousness...

Pigriver · 19/01/2015 17:29

The constipation is apparently caused by a surge of progesterone causing your digestive system to slow down. I have had it since day 1! I don't even gave the urge to go...not even a cheeky trump!
I have resorted to drinking fybogel. It is pretty nasty but is recommended in pregnancy. I eat loads of fruit and veg which seems to do nothing.

Tallalime · 19/01/2015 17:44

I had a crash section with DD and she spent a week in NICU.

ELCS this time round - hoping for 38 weeks. Definitely want to make it to September!

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 19/01/2015 17:46

I'm the same pigriver.
However I've just been to tescos and stocked up on pure orange, tropical and apple juice and lots of green veg.
let's give them a whirl.Confused
I remember having this when pregnant with dd. well I remember thinking I can't go like this for 9 months!
I'm sure it sorted itself out as I'm still here to tell the tale.

pocopearl · 19/01/2015 17:50

monkey so jealous I had 5 prostin last time, was 8 days from first prostin to birth. Am hoping for a quick sneeze at 38 weeks this time and baby just slips out.
