Good luck for today's scans :)
It still hasnt sunk in that we are having a girl. The sonographer said she couldn't say 100% but couldn't see any boy bits and she zoomed right in on that area! With DS, his massive balls were the first thing we saw on the scan Grin. Baby was wriggling so much so the scan took about half an hour as she had to keep getting me to roll about so she could get all the measurements.

Thanks sunbathing, the move went well. Its so nice to have an actual house, and we've met our neighbour who is really friendly. DS loves having his own room (he was in with us before) and loves having a garden. He's been waiting at the back door with his wellies since 7 this morning watching the snow :)

Morning all!

Good luck for all the scans today - and fab news on yesterday's.

Re ridiculous pregnancy eating: yesterday I had two different varieties of cake for breakfast Confused. We always have so much sweet stuff at work and I think my colleagues are living vicariously through me on their jan detoxes - they're very pro me eating for two!

PerpetualStudent · 20/01/2015 09:08

Morning ladies, great to hear about even more happy scans. I'm fuming on your behalf at all the insensitive comments from people though - can't believe people are so unable to engage their brains before opening their mouths!?
I had one quite early on, which was so bad it didn't even register with me until I told someone else - a PhD colleague, upon being told I was pregnant, asked me "Is that good news?" Shock there was context to the overall conversation which makes it slightly less awful than it sounds, but still...

Just weighed myself for the first time since moving house in Nov - I've gained about 10 lbs from my lowest morning sickness weight, which feels like a lot written down. I think I like charting the development of my growing bump much better than watching the scales!

Good luck for scans today

bubalou · 20/01/2015 10:03

Hey all. Happy to hear about more great scan news. Smile

Not so lucky here. Baby is perfect in almost every way - however they found something wrong with the heart - one of the ventricles. Sad

Don't know many details. They are getting us straight in to one of the London hospitals in the next 2 days to see a specialist.

Feel like I'm dreaming and this isn't actually happening. Hmm

jazzyjenbo · 20/01/2015 10:04

Good luck with todays scans, i have 21wk midwife checkup today. Just waiting outside the room now x

Bubalou, sorry to hear your baby may have heart problems. I hope you get some more answers soon and the problem is easily fixable. Hugs x

Jackiebrambles · 20/01/2015 10:27

Oh Buba what a worry! I'm in London, maybe post when you know what hospital you are being referred to?

The bottom line is they will be sending you to the BEST place. They so know what they are doing.

Fingers crossed and hugs for you.

traceybaybee · 20/01/2015 10:29

bubalou do sorry to hear that thinking of you and bump today Flowers

bubalou · 20/01/2015 10:33

Thank you everyone. It's hard not to freak out but I'm remaining calm as I can until we know more.

I think we're going to a hospital in Tooting for this emergency appointment as they can fit me in earlier but everything else after that will be at the royal Brompton.

Fingers crossed.

Oh yeah - this little bugger is a boy! Smile

Will post a scan pic on fbook.

Oh bubalou, I'm sorry they've found a problem but I'm glad they're seeing you so quickly and I hope that they can reassure you that it isn't serious. Will be thinking of you.

Phryn · 20/01/2015 10:54

Sending you love and prayers Bubalou as you said on facebook they can do amazing things now. Hopefully the detailed scan will reveal a minor problem that either might resolve/grow out naturally in the womb or involve minimal intervention. Hoping you can hold onto hope and that the emergency appointment comes really soon. Flowers

We had our 20 week scan this am. We're having a little boy Smile (his penis was definitely visible) and all is developing well. I'll put a pic up later. Told my parents and mum has already started knitting!

bubalou · 20/01/2015 10:58

Thanks Phyryn. Smile

Yay another boy! We are being overrun. Congratulations.

X

PregnantAndEngaged · 20/01/2015 11:01

Will be thinking of you.. glad they could fit you in very soon x

bubalou · 20/01/2015 11:02

Thank you for all the supportive messages. Smile

I will keep you all updated when I know more.

Please don't worry about posting all your amazing scan pictures and good news.

This little one is obviously determined to be hard work! Smile

Alisvolatpropiis · 20/01/2015 11:07

All these boys! Smile

Sorry to hear about your little boy's heart problem, bub. Hope it is something easily mended x

ChatEnOeuf · 20/01/2015 11:17

Boys are always trouble Wink Bubalou I do hope the scan shows things aren't too serious, I know this must be worrying you lots.

PregnantAndEngaged · 20/01/2015 11:54

Congratulations Phryn! :) Wow, there are lots of boys... I did read something (which I thought was old wives tale but maybe not!) that boys are more likely to be conceived in September so this may be why!

fortywinx · 20/01/2015 11:55

Sorry to hear your news buba, but as others have said, fingers crossed it's something that isn't serious or can easily be fixed. Flowers

Congrats Phryn! Another boy! The girls are getting very outnumbered. Maybe all those who haven't found out at scans are having girls, and the majority of those due towards the end of the month too?! It'll be interesting to see how it works out!

newbie6 · 20/01/2015 12:04

Good luck ladies on all those having scans today. Sorry to see your post bubalou but as others say, there is so much that can be done and sounds like you are being seen quickly to get all the info and help you and mini bubalou will need. lots of love x

Chookford · 20/01/2015 12:09

buba I am sorry to hear you have had some potentially worrying news, but glad to hear you are being looked after and are being seen straight away by the specialists. As mentioned above I hope it turns out to be a minor problem that will not involve much intervention at all, thinking of you... but congrats on your little boy (boys are always a little trouble!) Grin

phryn glad to hear your scan went well, and another little boy on this thread! The girls are seriously lagging behind!

PregnantAndEngaged · 20/01/2015 12:14

Was going to ask, is anyone keeping a pregnancy diary? I've been keeping one since week 9 as I bought a diary called 'bump to birthday, pregnancy & first year journal' and I'm really enjoying it. Can't wait to read through the journey when I'm near the end :)

Can't quite believe how quick the time has gone!
