jenny - I've had the small baby dream as well. very disconcerting.

I am trying to find classes. I'm not very yoga orientated as I've never viewed it as exercise but I'm willing to give it a go to change my mind. I'm hoping to get back swimming now I have a costume again. only one specific aqua natal class and it's the other side of the city so will stick with regular swimming and possibly shudders aqua Zumba.

tori - hope baby starts behaving. Smile

JennyOfOldstones · 14/01/2015 11:26

trying I have also got as far as ordering a new swimming costume and even emailed the pool about aquanatal classes! The next step is actually going to one... I did my Erin O Brien dvd last night and it was very hard going so I know I am totally out of shape!

I wanted to to aqua-natal classes but all the ones near me only happen during work hours, so I gave up on that. The yoga is partly for relaxation/de-stressing as well as mild exercise, so hopefully it's what we want.

I might just start swimming at public sessions if I can't get to aqua-natal, I think it might just be easier!

ots I've barely felt any movements yet either. Think I made the baby jump yesterday when I sneezed, and felt a couple of odd movements last few days, but nothing much today that I've noticed. Probably just too early to have regular movement, I think.

Glad your scan went well Tori.

I was allowed time off for the NHS antenatal classes. So I took five afternoons off for those as I needed time to travel to them too (one a week).

Tranquilitybaby · 14/01/2015 13:18

Ah team blue Mummy congrats to you. Glad your scan went well too Tori what a sweet pic.

Has anyone else got to have more scans? Ive got my 20 week one in Feb then scans at 28, 32 & 36 weeks.

Was not impressed with the miswife yesterday asking how old I was, to which I replied 37 and age said d "oh an older mum" bloody cheek! And to top it off then asked the age gap between this baby and our other two children. I replied "they're 12 and 9" so she had the audacity to ask "is this one the same father?"!!! I laughed it off at the time hit actually I'm really offended. Not that there's anything wrong with it if it was (it's not), but surely that's not an appropriate thing to ask a patient! Grrrr

cuphat · 14/01/2015 13:22

Just a scan at 36 weeks. They said it's because I've had a breech baby previously and they want to check position of baby before my c-section. Not that it makes any difference as they scan you on the day of the section anyway - I reckon they secretly want to check the size after my last one!

What a cheek tranquility! Shock

cuphat · 14/01/2015 13:25

Has anyone had a consultant appt and they haven't written anything at all in your notes? I've just noticed that the consultant who agreed my section hasn't written anything at all in my notes! Don't know if that's because he did something on a computer system instead (is it just midwives who write in them?) or whether he accidentally wrote them in my old notes (as he had them out to look at). I thought your notes should contain everything in case you go into labour elsewhere...

sleepyshrew · 14/01/2015 13:57

Hello! I'm 34 and expecting our first mid June. I don't live in the UK, but hope it's still ok to join in here. I've been reading back through some of the older threads and there's so much useful advice about things I hadn't even thought of. I've been quite worried throughout the pregnancy so far - mainly just hoping that baby is ok! - and that there's so much to learn. Never really imagined myself as a mum... it's taken me a while to get my head around the fact that I'm pregnant! Smile

It's our 20 week (although I'll be 19 weeks) scan on Monday. Can't wait to see baby again!

Jackiebrambles · 14/01/2015 14:03

Welcome Sleepy!

I've got more scans Tranquility - one at 22 weeks (that's my anomoly/20 week scan) then another to check my placenta at 23 weeks (work will be delighted...).

My hospital do a routine 36 week scan too.

I might have more depending on what my placenta gets up to!

Sunbathing the NCT classes I did were in the evenings and one saturday class, so no time off required. The NHS ones we did were in the evening too. Although I guess if you work evenings that's tricky!

cuphat · 14/01/2015 14:06

Welcome sleepy.

Our NHS classes were something like 1-3pm. I was quite happy to get extra time off work!

Chookford · 14/01/2015 14:24

Welcome sleepy

tranquility I have lots of scans, one tomorrow, one on Monday (anomaly) one at 24,28,32 and then 36wks so plenty of hospital visits for me!

tori glad all well at your scan and you are def having a little boy!

jazzyjenbo · 14/01/2015 14:37

I also have extra growth scans at 28, 32, 36 weeks... They say my babies are small.
My nxt appointment is nxt tue for a 21 week mw check and then gtt is 3rd march. I have no other bloods unless there is concern at the scans, but i need to speak to sum1 about getting the mmr after the birth as i've not got a rubella immunity apparently.

Welcome sleepy I've got my scan on Monday too :) exciting. Theres a couple of others on here not in the uk so don't worry about that :)

Glad your scan went well Tori

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 14/01/2015 15:58

sleepy hi welcome along to the gang :)

tranquility regardless of whether same Father or different Father, she shouldn't have really commented on (or even asked) that. I remember in my booking in app when OH came with me, the mw looked at him and asked if he was the Father, as if I was Pregnant and just decided to bring in some random guy.
We are on 24 hour count down for our private scan tomorrow, 1/2 excited and 1/2 anxious that everything is all going ok.

ChatEnOeuf · 14/01/2015 16:23

Welcome, sleepy I'm another non-UK June bug :)

Tori - damn straight it's my NICU roots driving that! Glad scan was fine, good weight already :) My DD was a royal pain at her detail scan and had her back to us the whole time - we were in for hours getting views of her face.

I've been scanned at 8, 12 and 17 weeks, there's the detail scan at 21 weeks and the routine doppler and presentation scan at 34 weeks and 'probable' periodic checks on my cervical length in the interim. It's scan heaven here!

Sounds like she asked in an unprofessional manner, tranquility, but that info can be really important.

I called and the consultant should have written something in my notes but they also keep their own notes that they go by so they assured me it would all be ok.

PeppermintChaiLatte · 14/01/2015 17:46

Hi all I haven't posted in ages! Just to say I'm due my anomaly/sex scan on Monday 26th and really excited. I think it's a girl so will be interesting to see if nub theory is right. I'm not too sure about my midwife shed be fantastic I think if I was not a first time mum but she hasn't always explained things properly for me and I've had to remind her I'm new Grin I had a bleed scare at 14 weeks which involved a trip to A&E but thankfully all is ok. Got a pram on a mothercare deal so will be exciting buying outfits in a few weeks when we know who we're expecting! Ramble over thanks for reading x

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 14/01/2015 18:02

tori trying htf thankyou for advice re:swimming, I did google but there's a lot of conflicting advice so I ve found it's better to ask on here.
