Couldn't see a new thread so thought I'd make one. Congratulations to all the mummies so far. Looking forward to hearing lots more birth stories. Good luck for those still to go.

Congratulations to calling and chiuri.

Had an eventful few days after the waters incident. They said no evidence of any on examination but having me in every couple of days for monitoring and temp check incase of infection. I'm going again in the morning. Had 3 unsuccessful sweeps now. The doctors sweep was fairly brutal but didn't do anything. Other than that I'm booked for a section on weds unless he makes an appearance beforehand but doesn't look likely at this rate.

40+6

We have just arrived home with our new daughter, born at 1.38am this morning after a 45 hour labour! Shock

She is absolutely perfect and we are over the moon Grin Birth was actually ok apart from the length and lack of sleep. I managed on gas and air, and was able to stay in the midwife-led birth centre until after her birth, when I had to go into theatre to remove a very stubborn retained placenta.

Everything seems to be going ok so far. She is feeding well when she can stay awake long enough, and we are very pleased to be homeSmile congrats on other new babies and good luck to those still waiting!

Elizadoesdolittle · 10/01/2015 23:33

How frustrating littlepink but I guess at least you know it won't be too much longer till you can have newborn snuggles.

huge congratulations sunshine. sounds like you coped marvellously. look forward to hearing further details.

Thank you Madrigals. Really did hope for spontaneous Labour but she's obviously very comfy. I know I have no control, but as you say every contraction will be one step closer to meeting her. Going to try to sleep think I will need the energy.

Dec2013mummy · 11/01/2015 06:01

Congratulations sunshine, I have been thinking of you. So glad to hear it all went ok. Good luck looking.
Thanks mad for the new thread. Will pop over and take a look! Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 11/01/2015 09:38

Good luck looking. I'm in the position of possibly needing an induction towards the end of the week. Having had 2 spontaneous labours I'm quite nervous. Hope it all goes well.

Eliza I hope you get the home birth you wanted (it was a hb wasn't it?) and I get the Vbac I wanted! Otherwise I'm wondering if we will be in the same hospital at the same time end of the week with us living close! If I go for section weds I'll be pushing for discharge all being well Friday.

Who else is still waiting? Is it just eliza, pesto, looking and me? Sorry if I've forgotten anyone.

I'm feeling a bit more upbeat about it all now and got my head around the fact that a section is looming in 3 days. Who knows what may happen in the meantime but if a vbacs not meant to be then so be it.

40+7

HenriettaTurkey · 11/01/2015 10:21

I'm still waiting...38+2 & I feel like poo! Which rhymes. Smile

I'm still waiting, Little! I'm 38+6. We had a close friend's wedding yesterday so I wanted to get past that but now am ready for baby to arrive at any time :)

SK28 · 11/01/2015 12:30

Congratulations Calling, Chi and Sunshine! How lovely for you all, well done on your new arrivals Smile

Nesspot · 11/01/2015 12:36

Congrats to all the new mamas!

I'm 38+6 too. Every day I wake up wondering if today will be the day! I'm more than ready to meet the wee man now!

I've also been feeling increasingly anxious - not necessarily about the birth but more about parenting in general and how we'll cope. Think I have too much time on my hands just now to mull things over - need to be getting on with it now before I drive myself nuts!

AlteredCarbon · 11/01/2015 14:59

Another one waiting here - due date is tomorrow but no sign of anything yet! Baby seems much quieter though - we can provoke a response but it still worries me.

Ryslady · 11/01/2015 15:14

I'm waiting too! Haven't posted for a while 39+1. Got a sweep booked on Saturday when I'll be 40weeks. Hoping to go before then. Not really fed up yet coz I've been enjoying time with my DS who is 8 since finishing work. But at the same time I am super excited to meet my baby girl!

Good luck everyone

CheekyBambino · 11/01/2015 17:45

Am waiting too! 38 + 3.

Cherrypi · 11/01/2015 18:01

Surely most people should still be waiting and we're only ten days in?

Elizadoesdolittle · 11/01/2015 18:03

littlepink yes I am supposed to be having a homebirth. I have to keep reminding myself that the reason I am going for a hb is that my previous 2 labours were very quick and not that I'm against hospitals. DD1 was born in queen marys but then they shut the maternity unit so I opted for Darenth with DD2 but never actually made it there. If I do have to be induced I will go to princess royal but I really hope it doesn't come to that as I'll probably end up missing DD1's birthday party! Still what will be will be. Have no control over any of this! I really hope you get the vbac you want.

40+9 - being overdue sucks!

OP posts:
Elizadoesdolittle · 11/01/2015 18:06

Haha yes cherry it is only 11th jan after all. I only count myself as waiting as I'm overdue. Prior to that I was just pregnant and seeing what happens.

LittlePink · 11/01/2015 18:37

Eliza I'm the only one using the QE around here! Everyone I've spoken to nearby seems to go to the pruh. QM would have been perfect 5 mins away if only they hadn't closed the service there. Ah well they're all much of a muchness anyway I suppose.

Really hope you have a hb and very soon. It's horrible being overdue.

cheshirem2b · 11/01/2015 18:41

Just been trying to catch up on here in between feeding! Congratulations to all the new mummy's! Lovely to read such happy news!

Cherrypi · 11/01/2015 18:41

Oops 11 days. Lost track.

Elizadoesdolittle · 11/01/2015 19:05

littlepink a good friend of mine gave birth in QE and had glowing reports of it.
