Couldn't see a new thread so thought I'd make one. Congratulations to all the mummies so far. Looking forward to hearing lots more birth stories. Good luck for those still to go.

Yes Mad, I expect my next birth would be just as straightforward, but hopefully a bit shorter! 36 hours total this time - held up for ages at 5cm till the hospital midwife finally suggested breaking my waters, after which it all went v quickly. But only needed TENS, paracetamol & the pool, (& a lot of support from DH & my birth partner friend!) so I'd have no qualms about a home birth next time. My DH is more keen on MLU tho! He didn't like his role while we were at home - logistics & pool man. Much preferred being freed up to give me emotional support when we went into hospital. So we'll see. Frankly, I need to get thru this intense sleep deprivation before thinking of a next time. Currently I'm feeling like 1 & done might be a great idea!

lou hope your recovery is going well. That sounds quite the induction experience to have endured!

Baby Violet Alexandra Love was born on 27th and a none too shabby 8lb 1. Labour started great but all went a bit wrong and I gad to stay in hospital a couple of nights for transfusions. First day at home now and feeling surprisingly good. Congratulations to everyone else who have give n birth this week. I'll be over on the post natal thread. Worrying about breast feeding...

Lovely to hear about all the new arrivals. Still waiting here: 40+8.

My parents are looking after ds1 (2.9) this weekend so I was looking forward to a quiet day with DH. It's not quite turned out that way, though. His old school friend is in the area with new gf and popping in at 2pm. Then my friend is coming to see us at 4pm. Then we've been invited to the pub tonight. DH really wants to go as his friend is very rarely in town, but I know it'll just be too much for me at this point.

I enjoy my own company at the best of times and right now am in hibernation mode (and grumpy & uncomfortable) So I've said he's welcome to go, as long as he keeps his phone on in case I go into labour, but it's too much for me.

Also trying to get our friends to visit at the same time, but this is proving slightly tricky...so I'm heading upstairs for a nap now to recharge my batteries!

This too shall pass...

Thanks, Mads. It's exhausting, isn't it? DH is going to pop out briefly tonight, which is absolutely fine, and I'll get to unwind then. I've had a lovely nap now & he's reheating my mum's homemade soup so feeling much better. He has let his friend know later afternoon is better.

He's a pretty good egg really!

As for signs - lots. Since before Christmas! One day they'll mean something!! No bloody show/waters breaking or anything incontrovertible though. Loads of backache, BH, discharge, even had a bit of a 'clearing out' over last couple of days.

But no baby...

Tick tock, tick tock. He'll be worth the wait!

HenriettaTurkey · 04/02/2015 15:51

Anyone still here? Just to let you know I've been induced so ds2 should be here within the next day or so!

40+12.

Ooh good luck Henrietta!

HenriettaTurkey · 04/02/2015 21:22

Thanks. Bored now. DH just left to go home, uncomfy but not regularly contracting. Fed up. May try and sleep.

SK28 · 04/02/2015 21:47

Hello! I'm still here, just haven't had time or free hands to post lately. My little girl was born on Friday at 40+11 by EMCS after 30+ hours of labour - I will share more of the birth story when I can. We came home on Sunday and are settling into family life fairly well Smile

Congrats Jo, and I love the name you chose. Violet is a favourite of mine.

Henrietta, thinking of you tonight and hoping baby comes soon for you Thanks
