Couldn't see a new thread so thought I'd make one. Congratulations to all the mummies so far. Looking forward to hearing lots more birth stories. Good luck for those still to go.

Glad you ignored hospital advice of staying at home even longer!
That's what happened to me only to find I was 6cm by the time I got there!
Well done
Enjoy being home with your new bundle Smile

Cherrypi · 18/01/2015 12:15

Congratulations to the new arrivals. Feeling terrible today - full of cold. DH is at work too. Toddler is enjoying his first viewing of Planes though. Thank you Disney. Getting lots of messages, particularly from MIL who is off on holiday in four days.

HenriettaTurkey · 18/01/2015 12:29

We've just watched Cars 2!

cassandra01 · 18/01/2015 12:49

Hi ladies! I know this is a bit late, but could I join you? I've only recently discovered antenatal threads, and looking forward to sharing the wait + postnatal advice/support.
Currently 39+1 with DC1 and getting a little impatient as was told cervix completely effaced two weeks ago, head very low, and should be soon. But back-to-back baby, so maybe that's slowing things down somehow? Been having lots of false alerts too over past two weeks, with electric shock type back pain, lots of contractions, etc, but always stops and only resumes couple of days later.
Good luck to those of you waiting, and congrats to all the new January mums - loved reading the birth stories!

Cherrypi · 18/01/2015 14:01

Ha we're on cars 2 now. We did a bit of painting in between. I quite like cars 2. Italy looks gorgeous animated. Welcome cassandra.

HenriettaTurkey · 18/01/2015 14:02

Welcome! 39+2 here and just kidded myself labour was imminent as I felt sick.

Turned out I was just hungry. Blush

Soupyliv · 18/01/2015 14:11

Hi Cassandra! I'm v grumpy and tired today, due to my 3yo being up in the night with a temperature and my crazily active baby. Waiting for my dh to get back so I can nap.. Grr!
38+1

cassandra01 · 18/01/2015 15:18

Thanks all! Haha Henrietta - I know the feeling Smile. I think late pregnancy has made me an expert at self-delusion.
Soupyliv, hope you feel better, must be so hard being that pregnant and looking after a toddler!

Ryslady · 18/01/2015 18:00

Hi 40+1 today. Went for a sweep yesterday but she couldn't do it because cervix was unfavourable Sad. Going for a 2nd attempt on Thursday and then induction is booked for 27th.
Have been having on/off pains today and had a strange episode of projectile vomiting! But think I'm just wishful thinking.
Was told yesterday that baby back to back which may slow down the start of labour.
I had DS at 40+3 so not feeling too fed up yet, but I'm sure I will come Wednesday!
Congratulations to all those who've had babies, I'm enjoying reading your birthing stories Thanks

jobrum · 18/01/2015 18:34

I'm so uncomfortable!

Congratulations to everyone who's given birth and hello Cassandra. Apart from some BH and a little periods type backache today I've had nothing to suggest labour is close so am v cheered by all the spontaneous labour starting stories. Have a sweep booked for tomorrow so fingers crossed.
My baby does switch around a lot, depending upon how I'm sat. Any time spent leaning backwards in a chair seems to make it swish round back to back I think - I become a lot less round and there's an indentation around my tummy button. If I lean forwards it turns back the good way. Although having said no other signs, I have a very unsettled tummy today with a couple of moments of "I should go to the bathroom". Glamorous pregnancy - where diarrhoea becomes desired!

40+1 (boo!)

Cherrypi · 19/01/2015 01:59

Think something's happening. Community midwife is coming round. Hope I'm not wasting her time. Toddler keeps waking up. He seems to sense something is happening.

Cherrypi · 19/01/2015 05:06

Blood pressure up so home birth cancelled. Pants. In the hospital for monitoring. At least the food was good last time. Husband has mild food poisoning.

HenriettaTurkey · 19/01/2015 08:23

Sorry to hear about the bp, cherrypi. Sounds like you are in the best place - especially ekth DH's shocking timing!

I always liked the hospital food too. At ours last time there was lots of fruit crumble & custard and lots of shortcrust pastry meat pies and gravy with veg. My favourites!

Hope all is going well. Smile

Cherrypi · 19/01/2015 08:36

I was very upset to abandon apple crumble and custard last time to have my son. Husband feeling better. Just being monitored again. Nothing much happening now.

jobrum · 19/01/2015 16:57

Mmm, I'd love some apple crumble right now. Hot custard, cold crumble.
Cherry, bad news about the home birth but at least you didn't have to have any emergency transfer during labour.

I've just had my first sweep. Midwife was able to insert a finger and separate the membranes. Definitely uncomfortable but not exactly painful. Hopefully it will get things started before the next one booked at the hospital a week tomorrow. Only thing is now that I really feel like I'm waiting for something to happen.

40+2

Cherrypi · 19/01/2015 18:48

Home again. Allowed a home birth again yay but being induced on Thursday. Had a sweep and wasn't as bad this time.

Fingers crossed it happens soon Lou - but that you get some sleep first!

loulily27 · 21/01/2015 05:52

Thanks ladies. STILL nothing!!! Got a little sleep tho, so uncomfortable tho. Don't know why I couldn't have gone home yesterday morning after they put pessary in! They haven't monitored or examined me once so don't know why I had to stay in! Would have at least got a good night's rest at home, ready for labour, if it EVER starts!!! 40+13!! X

HenriettaTurkey · 21/01/2015 08:25

All the best Lou!!

Cherrypi · 21/01/2015 09:06
