Thanks for the advice joskar. I went on their website last night and took their advice. I feel a lot better today but I will mention it to the midwife.

Dozygirl · 25/02/2015 18:17

Think I was feeling a bit too emotional this morning when I posted sorry about that. Wasn't fishing for anything it was just at the time I thought someone might have said something.

My mum's such a trooper though and hates to have anyone do anything for her so it did hit her a bit harder than I originally thought even though all the symptoms were temporary so she was lucky it was only small. I love my mum to bits though and I've always got it in the back of my mind that she's getting older and things can start going wrong so I worry about her before anything has even happened. She's been desperate to be a nana and Ive been desperate to give her that opportunity so I just need her to be in perfect health for a little while longer :) I don't actually know how I'd survive without her but I know one day I'll have to. Circle of life and all that.

Dozygirl · 25/02/2015 18:20

fanby I'm similar dates as you, also looking forward to feeling the first flutters.

Sorry for those suffering pelvic pain already and I hope u manage to get some support from somebody.

Frolicacid · 25/02/2015 19:57

Evening all!! I'm another one who hasn't been posting much. Mainly due to being asleep or at work! Hopefully I'll have more energy as the weeks go on. I don't do Facebook groups, so I'm hoping some of you stay here with me!

mzzf, I'm sorry you are feeling crap again. You have my full sympathy. I'm still suffering with lots of vomittting and tiredness. I had protein and keytones in my urine when I saw the midwife yesterday. Although it's much better than a few weeks ago, I cannot tell you how fed up of vomitting I am.

dozy, I'm sorry about your mum. Wishing her a speedy recovery. It's my nanna's funeral on Friday so I'm with you all the way on the feeling emotional front. Take good care of yourself Flowers.

blueberry, my DH had siatica. Tried everything. He eventually saw a physio who gave him a course of acupuncture. It hasn't been back since after years of trouble. I highly recommend you ask abou it.

Sorry to everyone feeling crap. It's no fun. Maybe we'll all magically improve and bloom with the start of spring. about bloody time Smile

Dozygirl · 25/02/2015 23:16

Baby sale on at argos. Might be some decent deals. Payday for me tomorrow plus I've got a whole 11 days off work whoohoo so tomorrow shall be spent shopping methinks!

ruby242 · 26/02/2015 14:31

Hello all,
I have been one of those annoying posters flitting in and out of this thread, been hard with morning sickness (I thought it was improving then would come back!) But finally gone for good now :) I really feel for those still suffering! I'm working a little less from now on so will have more time to post and keep up to date on this thread!

Dozy I do hope your mum is doing ok now, how worrying for you. And frolicacid, I hope the funeral goes ok tomorrow for you.

I've had pelvic pain too when I have had an active day, been referred to physio by the Dr but the referral can apparently take a long time to come through so I would recommend if you're suffering to go to the dr asap!

How exciting for those feeling flutters!

Gender scan for me on Saturday, can't wait! Would be extra excited if it's a girl but obviously will be so happy either way-then the hardcore shopping can begin!

Off to check out the Argos sale, thanks for the heads up dozy :)

Guyropes · 26/02/2015 22:17

Hope today went ok frolic Flowers
Enjoy your days off dozy, and your reduced hours ruby.

I had my first pregnancy yoga today! It was great to do some structures series of stretches. The intensity of exercise was just right and I felt relaxed but energised afterwards. I really recommend it if you are starting to come out of the exhausted phase, but still not up to much!

Thinking of you today frolic Flowers

Dozygirl · 27/02/2015 09:29

I definitely want to find a pregnancy yoga class near me guyropes anything to keep me active and that can help with relaxing during birth etc.

ruby242 · 27/02/2015 10:08

Funny you mention yoga as I have just started doing some this week and really enjoying it too. Theres a class nearby but I have to work late for the next month on the day that its on so until I can start the proper class I've been doing some on Youtube-theres one that's only about 15mins which is perfect when I don't have much time. My dr recommended yoga for pelvic pain too so hopefully it has a few benefits.

I have also just found a aqua natal swimming class too which I'm going to try and go to. Might be a nice way to meet other pregnant women too :)

happygojo · 27/02/2015 11:31

I went to my first preg yoga last night and it was ace. Only 4 ladies and it was really laid back. Definitely going to try and keep it up. I have been doing a DVD but it was really good to have someone to put blocks etc in the right places.

Fanby · 28/02/2015 09:48

Happy weekend everybody! I hope those feeling rubbishy can get lots of rest in!

Frolic Hope yesterday went as well as these things can x

Ruby242 Good luck for today, let us know how your gender scan goes!

Pregancy yoga and aqua fit sound great fun, I'm definitely going to look into it as I have a bit more energy now. I stupidly left my yoga mat at work (it was used all of 4 times, not a regular gym go-er haha!). Did you meet some other local mums to be and bumps?

DH surprised me with a Boppy sleeping pillow thing yesterday. Literally have just had the best nights sleep, I don't think i'm ever going to let it leave my side, horraaay!

clairexxx · 28/02/2015 11:32

Hi everyone. I hope I can find time to post more now. It's lovely to chat with you all. I've been quite poorly and haven't had much time for anything.

Dozy, I was sorry to here about your mum. How is she doing?

I found out yesterday at a private scan I'm having a little baby girl! My husband and I are thrilled to bits. She was waving and stretching and I could see her heart beat very clearly. I even got to listen to it.

How is everyone feeling? Hopefully I'm on the mend now xx

Frolicacid · 28/02/2015 15:52

Thank you for all of your kind words. Yesterday was very sad, but also a lovely celebration of my grandmother's life. Spring was in the air and it was nice to spend time with family.

I think I'm feeling a bit better. Not so nauseous and I'm actually enjoying food. I've still been sick a few times but this has been the best few days since before my BFP.

It's all starting to feel very real now. Loads of people commented on my little bump yesterday. DH and I have been looking at prams online today. I even started a thread in the pushchairs topic! I still haven't bought anything yet. We don't need much other than the pram as we are being given so much.

Very envious of those of you who know the sex. We will ask at 20 weeks and book a private scan after that if they can't tell us.

I must look into yoga or aquanatal locally. I've barely moved since BFP due to sickness.

I hope you are all having a fab weekend Smile

LAM1 · 28/02/2015 18:04

Just skimmed back quickly, been manic with work, back studying and the business that I haven't been on here for ages.

frolic pleased to hear the funeral went well.

dozy how is your mum doing?

On the exercise front I am struggling, well more being lazy now. I feel like I could be doing stuff but the sofa is more appealing, so unlike me. I start yoga in a couple of weeks though.... Was signed up to a half marathon next weekend but my friend now has my place, I'll still go and watch as DH is also running. Maybe that will motivate me to get back doing stuff!

Fanby · 28/02/2015 19:08

Me again, two posts in a day, what a rariety :D

Clairexxx CONGRATULATIONS on your little girl!! That's super exciting, have you bought anything yet? I hope you start to feel 100% again soon!

Our next scan isn't until April when i'll be 22 weeks (does anyone know of any reasons that it's a disadvantage of having it at 22wks rather than 20wks?), fingers crossed bump will play ball and reveal gender/sex.

Frolic Glad it went well, I always feel it's nice that funerals can be a celebration of life too. It's such sad circumstances, but i'm pleased you got to spend time with your family.
Great news that you're starting to feel better, my appetite has come back full force now too and occasionally starting to eat more than DH :S

Lam1 Ahh pregnancy, great excuse for canning the half marathon ;) I spent 6 hours traipsing Oxford Street/central London today so I figure that can count as my exercise for the week month...:)

Oooh and FINALLY after 2 weeks of being unable to do my jeans up I gave in and bought some maternity jeans. Hopefully i'll start to look less like a hobo...

karatekimmi · 28/02/2015 20:13

Hi all, sorry I've been so crap at posting - I promise to make more of an effort!! It does seem a slow thread though as often I'll check and there has only been a couple of comments!!

I'm still running and don't intend to stop for a while, but I am a lot slower and the most I could do is 10k, whereas before I was planning on a marathon in April!! I get a bit very jealous with all my running buddies planning races. I want to run too!!
I must dig out my pregnancy yoga dad from last time, I'd forgotten about it.

We haven't looked at prams and pushchairs yet, although we probably have an old one in the garage, I think its more the car seat we'll need.

dozy how's your mum?

Frolicacid · 28/02/2015 20:18

Just popping in to quickly say how pleased I am! I had a take away curry for dinner tonight Grin it was so yummy. And I had loads of different things. Looks like I'm getting past the beige food stage!! ignoring the fact that I vomitted half of it, because just fancying it at all feels like a triumph

Sparrowlegs248 · 28/02/2015 20:46

Evening all. I have to say I am so jealous of you all doing pregnancy yoga and aqua natal. I have looked and there is nothing like that where i live in the sticks and as for running, there is no way i could. I am walking slowly mist days due to hip pain.

Keep getting tummy pains, quite sharp, and stay for several minutes at a time. Wonder if it is the ligaments? DH asked me today if it was normal to have so much pain? I have no idea, but don't consider it a massive amount given the changes going on in my body.

18wks today. Can't believe I am almost half way there. Have felt a couple more flutters too.

Just made the mistake of watching some one born every minute clips on YouTube. Seems to be a design fault going on with this childbirth malarky!

Fanby · 28/02/2015 21:05

Hurrah for curry - not for vomming. Nasty. Glad you enjoyed half of it :D definitely a step in the right direction!

I have the sharp pains too if that helps? They come and go and am hoping/assuming ligament pain…I see the midwife next week so was joking to check in with her then.

I've never watched One Born Every Minute - don't think i'm going to start now…does anyone watch Grey's Anatomy and is up to date? The current storyline with two of the main characters is so upsetting (not a massive help, but I really don't want to give any spoilers for those that do watch but may not be up to date!!)

Joskar · 28/02/2015 23:30

Notta you need to get a physio appointment. It's SPD from the sound of it. It won't get better without treatment. Look at the pelvic partnership website for some really useful advice. I was in a wheelchair last pregnancy. You need to avoid that at all costs!

Joskar · 28/02/2015 23:40

Re pushchairs. We still mostly use a didymos wrap sling. We only very rarely use a pram because we live in the country and there aren't pavements so the sling is way more convenient. Prams in and out of shops is a bit of a nightmare too though so think about a sling before you spend hunners on a pram. I went to the local sling library first and tried out a bunch first.

Lots of people buy the "wrong" pram too so check Gumtree first. Even up here there are masses for sale and hardly used. We've got a Pop and highly recommend it for when baby is older and world facing rather than parent facing. We got ours when dd was one because we were going on holiday. It's really light and reclines right down.

karatekimmi · 01/03/2015 06:33

I agree about slings, I used just a sling (just 1 long stretch of fabric and tied the baby to me - I think it was Victoria the sling lady on face book) it was far more convient than getting the car seat out of the car and clipping it to wheels most of the time. Also with having a toddler as well and needing to be mobile little buggar is a runner I plan on slinging the baby!!

ruby242 · 01/03/2015 08:25

Had my gender scan yesterday and it's a boy!! Congrats on your little girl Claire :) So the serious shopping has now begun!

I think it's pretty normal to have not done much exercise up until now...first trimester is hard work!

I normally love watching One Born Every Minute but am too scared to watch it now in case it scares me for childbirth lol!

Yes I've heard slings are useful-think I'll end up with a pram and sling :)

Glad to see some of you are feeling a little better :)

Dozygirl · 01/03/2015 09:36

Great to hear the sees being revealed, how exciting. claire sorry to hear you've been so unwell. Hope you're on the mend now.

frolic yey for eating a curry! I'm the opposite and can't stop eating. I feel so bloated and horrible though because of it

10k karate?! That is some achievement while preggo! All the exercise I enjoy doing I can't do while pregnant (roller derby and kitesurfing) so I'm literally a lazy bum and occasionally going swimming but not enough to keep me fit. I promised myself I wouldn't be lazy but the lack of energy is really bothering me. I literally want to sleep all the time. But that's the only thing that's wrong, otherwise I feel perfectly normal and wonder if I am pregnant at all

My mum is seemingly ok. all the symptoms she had have gone now so that's a good sign. I'm taking my parents up to their caravan in the lakes today because it's the first day they can open it up after winter. She really wanted to drive there herself so it took some persuading to allow her to let me take them. She's fiercely independent! I think now she's looking forward to me going with them. She's got us a jigsaw to do so I'm looking forward to having a chilled relaxed evening away from modern technology (phone signal us rubbish).
