Hello Nat fab that you sailed through the first trimester. Lucky you missing out on a month of grimness and exhaustion.
That's a lovely bump la.

Zampa · 10/01/2015 08:31

Small My EDD is now 9th July so close but no cigar.

My final Harmony scan yesterday was pretty thorough, looking at brain development, heart chambers, lungs, stomach etc. All looking normal (love that word now)! I'm therefore more comfortable buying baby things now.
So far I've got a few clothes from 0 up to 12 months (John Lewis sale) and a Cocoonababy from eBay (based on your recommendations). Going to get a few things every month from now on.

I started telling people yesterday and it's been enjoyable so far. I think we're keeping the baby's sex to ourselves as I agree with others, it's nice for you and your DP to have a little secret from the world.

WantToGoingTo · 10/01/2015 08:52

zampa I have same problem re brushing teeth - haven't cracked it yet!

Sleeping much better now thank god and weird dreams have eased :) so nice to wake up feeling refreshed!

Can someone pls change my due date to 17 July? (Even though I don't believe it) and my 20w scan is on 26 feb. I can't do it on my phone :(

13+1 (though I still think I'm 12+1!)

Ceejay14 · 10/01/2015 09:05

If someone updates Want's stats can you change my EDD to 13 July please (also on phone so can't do it). Scan is 26 feb too. Thanks x

Mrsc020987 · 10/01/2015 09:09

Nat, pretty much same story here! Was breast feeding dd2 and found out about our surprise! Dd1 is 2 at the end of the month and dd2 is just 7 months. Unfortunately due to bad sickness I had to stop breast feeding so I could take the anti sickness meds. Had scan yesterday, was great new due date of 26 July!

Butler4 · 10/01/2015 09:13

Thanks for your support ladies, was so shocked that I didn't mention it to head. Think ill speak with her about it on Monday!

gluenotsoup · 10/01/2015 09:24

Hi everyone, can I join in too ? Have been following you all since thread 1, but wanted to wait a bit before I joined in. I am due on 12 July with dc 3, and as I will be 40 when this one arrives I am another old bird...
I feel like I know so much about you all already, so here's a bit about me to even things up a bit. Mn regular 2006 when I had my first miscarriage, which was a partial molar pregnancy, then dd 1 was born in July 2008, dd 2 in July 2010. Dd 2 has a very rare genetic syndrome, and has severe disabilities so I am flapping a bit about how I am going to manage a newborn and a wheelchair! I had a borderline high nuchal with her at 11 weeks, at 3 mm, a normal amnio, then a persistent nuchal fold of 6 mm at the 20 week scan, so the nuchal scan for us this time was incredibly stressful, but came back good at 2mm max at 13 plus 1. I had 2 more miscarriages in march and July 2014, so have had 4 scans already, been since at the hospital every week under a consultant gynaecologist, now seen the consultant for pregnancy and geneticist, so will be full consultant led care for me ! Everthing is looking good so far though, so finally I feel I can begin to believe I might actually get to take this baby home..

Phew! Sorry for the mammoth post, just felt like I needed to say it all. We have told our families, but not friends yet, just feel like keeping it as my little secret a bit longer. Have got a little bump now , and the sickness has mostly gone. I was on cyclogest till a few days ago , and definitely feel better now I have stopped it. Also , I am on low dose aspirin as advised by the consultants.

Off to do breakfast now x

Bustherb · 10/01/2015 09:28

Has anybody had the call from the NT screening? I had an unknown call today at 8.10 but I was sleeping and now I can't get it out of my head that it could be that, would they even ring me that early on a Saturday?xx

Pipbin · 10/01/2015 09:29

I imagine they would leave a message if it was Bust.

WantToGoingTo · 10/01/2015 09:39

Welcome nat and glue!

Wow, glue you will have three July birthdays in your family then! Guess it could make organising birthday parties easier...?!

Bust I doubt they would ring you at that time on a Saturday, hospitals don't normally ring until after 9am. And like Pip said, they would leave a message asking you to phone them back.

Bustherb · 10/01/2015 09:41

Thanks pip and want. Think I'm over thinking every phone call I get Confused xxx

Kilicat · 10/01/2015 10:03

Welcome to [Nat] and [Glue]. I'm a little bit jealous of the symptom free 14 weeks Nat. Feeling much better here but been sick again for the last two mornings. [Zampa] I am totally the same with teeth cleaning - starting to worry about the ones at the back of my mouth what with being sick daily, eating junk and not being able to clean them very well at all. I have found that using a little one that I got in a hotel is a bit better than the electric toothbrush but other than that nothing really helps, although I try to do them more thoroughly when I am feeling ok (not in the morning or evening...so done some cleaning at random times of the day!).

[Butler] what the heck has you being pregnant go to do with the finance person? So rude and I hope that your head is extremely apologetic about how rude the finance lady was to you. They've got no right to know until 15 weeks before you're due. Did you agree that your line manager would pass the news up the chain? If so I'd be pretty annoyed at them. My line manager is pretty rubbish most of the time as well so I cut out the middle man and just emailed the head directly. He was just extremely grateful that we'd told him so early, even though there is a chance that he'd heard rumours on the grapevine (the deputy head, whilst a bit drunk at the end of last term, ask DH if I was pregnant)!

Kilicat · 10/01/2015 10:04

Whoops, I was meant to make those bold, not in weird brackets!

naty1 · 10/01/2015 10:19

The mw did my maternity exemption form. I got the card a few weeks later - it was booking appt when it was filled in. Its valid from a few weeks before i got it. (Not sure if that is a certain no of wks pg)
I would be surprised if screening would call on weekend. They said 3 days on wed so i assumed monday.

Butler4 · 10/01/2015 10:19

Yeah line manager told me to leave it with her and she would go and speak with headteacher. I thought nothing off it when I didnt hear back from anyone, just presumed I didnt need to do anything further. Will not make that mistake again! Finance manager supposedly needed to do a risk assessment, she then gave me the paperwork of another teacher without even realising! How very unprofessional! Had obviously copied and pasted it! Daft cow

charlieis30 · 10/01/2015 10:58

Anyone else have sickness start to fade around 11.5w? Mine's really tapered off the last few days, which freaks me out as I've had a couple of MCs and have to wait until Thursday for next scan. Had a good scan at 10w so hope everything is still ok.

Kilicat · 10/01/2015 11:03

Totally ridiculous as they don't have to do a risk assessment until you tell them you're pregnant. And then to give you someone else's, I am assuming confidential, paperwork. I would consider an official complaint as this lady is going well beyond her job remit, and potentially breaking the law (they have no legal right to know that you're pregnant until 15 weeks before). Not something you should have to put up with!

Kilicat · 10/01/2015 11:05

Just had my downs results through the post, only had tests on Monday so I am surprised to see the so quickly. They have come back as 1:360 which although is officially low, it seems quite high to me. It is higher than the risk associated with my age (32). My NT was 1.7 so I think there must be something slightly raised in my bloods? Does anyone have any idea how to interpret all of the numbers? Hopefully the MW will shed some light on it but I don't see her for another 10 days or so.

broodylicious · 10/01/2015 11:51

charlie, yes my ms is calming down now (12+2). Still often nauseous and getting food aversions but the physical sickness is getting less for sure. My scan is next Wednesday - will be my first scan so no idea if all this is just in my mind, lol! - so not long now. It's awful isn't it, the wait?! X

Zampa · 10/01/2015 12:30

Glad to see that there are many others not cleaning their teeth properly! Very reassuring.

naty1 · 10/01/2015 12:31

I just got combined nt of 1:7002 my nt was 1.7 at 13+6 im 35. I only had test wed so very quick and a bit scary seeing letter.
It sounds good? My age related would be about 250/350.

Did other people get a breakdown of the numbers as that was all i had.
I think my hcg is low - 0 ms.
I think it was like 10-13k for dc1 at 32 so thw increase could be mostly age

Zampa · 10/01/2015 12:32

Kilicat When you had your scan, did they talk you through any other indicators (nasal bone, brain division, stomach position)? If they were all OK, then that's some reassurance.

Bustherb · 10/01/2015 12:50

Kili there's quite a few posts in the antenatal tests section about similar things to this, I've been looking on there to get some reassurance (I haven't had my results yet) . There's lots of info on there Grin but if it's low risk then it's low risk so I wouldn't worry but that's easy for me to say at this point. I wonder whether they take into consideration the dates you have the scan, my first one it measured 1.3mm and my last scan they measured it at 2mm, and I know they will go off the last one but if they went off the first one Surely it affects my results xxx

StoneBaby · 10/01/2015 12:52

glue welcome.

Nausea is back with a revenge. Had to tell DS we were not going swimming today as I was sure I would not be sick while at the pool. He wasn't happy about this, fx tomorrow I can take him.

I had the gagging while teeth brushing when pg with DS, this time it's milder. Have you try brushing them at a time you're feeling okay?
