I was wondering if anyone has considered starting a facebook group? When I was briefly in the June AN club we had a totally private fb group. It was nice to put faces to names Smile.

Thepurplegiraffe · 09/01/2015 17:15

Bustherb, I was asked that by a couple of colleagues last time, which came out of the blue as I was in a prime position to do the family thing. They don't know yet this time so we will see what happens. They may well as it is quite soon and no one is expecting it.

Ohlordy, my Oct 13 group did a fb group which is still going strong and has been a massive source of support. It can exclude those not on fb though.

naty1 · 09/01/2015 17:21

Butler thats awful as you dont even need to let work know until 25w or something. And you and manager are in the process.
Work didnt sort my replacement till like a month before i left and i trained them for 3w. Both of is squeezed on 1 computer at like 8m pg.

Butler4 · 09/01/2015 17:25

Thanks naty, I was so shocked that she spoke to me like that and then embarrassed cos I get on well with headteacher. Felt like a child getting a row!
I will be having words with my manager on Monday! Think there are so many gossips in school that it travelled so quickly. Just don't want people thinking I'm rude when it wasn't my doing! And breathe......

WantToGoingTo · 09/01/2015 17:32

ohlordy that sounds like a good idea but agree may exclude those not on fb

supersupersupershock · 09/01/2015 17:39

Butler - I would be having a word with headteacher about how the old coot spoke to you and make you feel. I would have been bloody furious - what the fuck is it to her. Grrr makes me cross!

smallgreenbanana · 09/01/2015 17:46

fleur I feel similarly reticent about telling work. My boss knows, and that's fine. And my colleagues are lovely, but it's such a big gossipy place, I will feel self conscious! It's bad enough that my boss couldn't help but glance at my stomach yesterday! Everyone will be glancing. Hmm Might have to put a sign on it saying "Move along, nothing to see here." Grin

Butler4 · 09/01/2015 17:46

Thanks super, I was too angry today to do anything about it. Will calm down and deal with it on Monday. I thought everything went so well on Monday with my line manager as well. Should have realised really as my line manager is useless.

Fleurchamp · 09/01/2015 17:55

bust it's questions like that that put me off telling people Sad rude!!

WantToGoingTo · 09/01/2015 17:57

small will you be mass producing those signs? Grin everyone keeps glancing at my stomach too! Good thing is someone came and moved some furniture for me in the office today and I didn't even ask them to do it which was nice :)

SoapSudBub · 09/01/2015 18:02

Hey everyone,

I've just been lurking since thread 1 as I've been a bit worried about getting too excited! But I've been following all the news Smile.

Congrats on all the lovely positive scans, I had mine yesterday and all was well lovely heartbeat, baby was flipping and jumping about, so surreal watching it on the screen!! I was brought forwards two days so new edd is 21/07. Can't get on the stats sheet on my phone, so will update later!

SoapSudBub · 09/01/2015 18:03

Oops forgot 12+2

broodylicious · 09/01/2015 18:03

butler, I'd have been furious too. What a knobber. I am so grateful I don't have workmates or bosses to add to my issues!!

Someone mentioned olives the other day and as a result, I was totally craving them myself. Yuk. Wish I hadn't. Was violently sick straight after. Just like I am with chocolate at the min. Peaches and cold custard however...yum yum yum!

broodylicious · 09/01/2015 18:07

Oh and the fb group sounds good.....although that will make you, like, actual real people... And you know about my cm, when I dtd, the workings of my uterus and bladder.... WinkGrin

Number3cometome · 09/01/2015 19:18

Happy to join the facebook group!

Butler wow - that's so bad.

Feeing nauseous again today, praying it's good news.

BadIdeaBear · 09/01/2015 19:40

broody I can't cope with olives either. I normally really like green olives but they taste vile at the moment. Not a fan of hummous now either, after it being one of my favourite foods. I'll stick with fruit! Although I'm not sure about the cold custard bit!

Bustherb · 09/01/2015 20:13

Butler I would be totally furious about that! How dare they!!

Still annoyed at my comment today! AngryAngryAngry Xxx

WantToGoingTo · 09/01/2015 20:19

Lol broody true that! Haha you all know my inner secrets Wink

It was me re olives! Yum yum yum could eat them til the cows came home. And oranges. Fruit in general but mainly oranges. Yummmmy with you on the cold custard though love that even when I'm not pg!

broodylicious · 09/01/2015 20:25

Lol want, you'll have to introduce yourself on fb as "fybogel girl" or something and we'll know who you are WinkGrin Yeah cold custard is tops!! I love cold rice pudding and meringue with fruit too - deeeelish.

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 09/01/2015 20:44

Well I had a lovely sonographer this afternoon who checked, re-checked and triple checked my measurements and concluded that I'm only 13+6 (exactly what I thought I was from the start) rather than 14+3 so I could get the nuchal test after all! She also let DS come in to the scan which he loved (fascinated by the picture of the baby on the screen) and gave me a free pic so all in all a pretty good scan. Baby was waving and kicking around like crazy but in a bit of an awkward position so I had to go and wander round the corridors for a while.

Bustherb Shock Do people just not think before they open their mouths? It is a really odd thing that your body sort of becomes public property in people's minds when they find out you're pregnant. I'm sure it's just harmless curiosity, but in what other circumstance would it be ok to ask such personal questions publicly? It only gets worse as the bump grows as relative strangers start trying to touch your stomach. I'm still disturbed by the memory of MIL's male friends, all very big men in their 60s, rubbing my stomach in the middle of a restaurant when pregnant with DS, first time I had met any of them Confused

Butler that is not on. You can tell who you like at work but are not obliged to notify them officially for another few months so they have no cause for complaint. Did you tell the head this other woman was so rude? The gossip would annoy me too!

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 09/01/2015 20:46

Ooh cold custard! I have been pretending to craving that for a while but DH doesn't understand and just says he'll make custard instead so doesn't bother to buy it, not the same thing at all! I have nothing in the house I want to eat Sad Some serious shopping tomorrow I think.

StoneBaby · 09/01/2015 20:54

i'm so glad today is Friday... I'm shattered and fancy a 'quiet' weekend - easier said than done as DH is working both days and I'll be entertaining DS. I'm aiming on Sunday to get the up to 3 month old clothes out of the attic to see what can be reused and what I'll try to sell now (DS was a winter baby so lots of warm sleepsuits and pramsuits to flog).

My nausea has come back after disapearing for nearly a month. I wonder if it's because I'm tired. It's only in the evenings but as a result I can't eat a proper dinner. Quite annoying as with the diabetes I need proper food to prevent hypoglycemia.

Great news on all the scans and loving the bump pics. We should do that once a month!?

butler how raging is that. You told your supervisor, then your choice to tell others. As said before there's no obligations to tell your employers until more than half way through.

soap welcome

12+3

bust you could for the fun, tell her that no it wasn't but it happened after a quick shag in the pub's toilets while drunk! Just to see her face Grin More seriously, this is a very personal question and I'm Angry people think they could ask those questions just because we're pg. they'll never dare asking someone about their dtd on normal occasions

Evening All,

I'm getting so bad at keeping up this week. I think it's cause it's been first day back at work, so haven't been sitting on my arse at home all day on MN lol. Everytime I manage to get 5mins to check, I try reading back, then run out of time, and by the next time it feels like another 100 posts have gone past! Sad Oh well, hopefully it will be easier to keep up this weekend or I may end up missing the new thread!

Been waking up every couple of hours in the night the last few days to go to the loo - how a baby of a few inches can make you need the loo so much I don't know!? But I think as a result, my nausea this past 2days have been the worst so far. Today I couldn't even eat anything until gone midday as I felt so sick Sad

I had to give in last night and take my belly bar out. The swelling had got so bad the bar barely fit through and was painful the slighted movement Sad Got some antiseptic wash and dressings, and finally found a place today who made me a stupidly large at this moment maternity bar using a special plastic coil and the normal titanium balls on each end - Only £6! Put it in this evening, which was a bit difficult due to the swelling, but touch wood so far it's not really irritating, though it does feel REALLY weird as the middle part comes from the bottom of my belly button, to a good 3cm above it! Obviously as I grow, it will be needed, but right now it's catching a little on my clothes, so I may end up going back and getting a slightly smaller one for now and change back to this one later... We'll see...

I did notice a few people mention about constipation and/or hemorrhoids... I can vouch for Fybogel! You get it at any pharmacy or even supermarket on the same shelf as the constipation or indigestion remedies. It's not a pharmacy item, and is a natural "fibre" drink you make up from sachets, I think there's three different flavours around, but most only tend to stock Orange. Have it morning and night after food, or I just had it after dinner for a few nights at a time, and he really helps! Also, I've been using (on and off) a prescription gel the Dr gave me for hemorrhoids called Uniroid HC. At the risk of "tmi" the relief was there within a few hours from first use. The Pharmacist told me that although it says to use after each bowl movement, your better just using it once before bed for a few days at a time as it is quite a strong steriod cream... It seems to have worked so far!

Sorry for the essay! Maybe if I manage to keep up a bit more I won't need to write these essays each time! haha

Hi ladies,

I have just found out today I am 14+1 with baby number 3, total shock and surprise as have sailed through the first trimester with no symptoms at all and was still breastfeeding my second when I got pregnant.

I have a DS aged 2 and DD aged 8 months, about to have my hands full I feel, and I returned to work on Monday from my maternity leave.

Do you guys have a facebook group too?
