My hospital only do antenatal classes for first time parents, it just depends on the hospital but most offer something. NCT don't run any refresher classes nearby either which is a shame as we are new here and don't know anyone. As I'm going up to full time hours at work shortly I won't really have a chance to meet people so I'm a bit worried about being isolated when the baby gets here, but I expect I will meet people at baby groups etc. I'm also trying to find some antenatal yoga / fitness classes which might be another way to meet people locally, although not sure there are any in my (very small) town. NCT was great first time around, the content was ok and did help get me mentally prepared, nothing I hadn't already read about online though, but the group was invaluable as we all got on and kept each other sane in the early months. I saw all the mums once or twice a week to begin with and we still see them regularly now nearly 3 years on.

I have a really itchy bump too, boobs as well Blush It's just everything stretching, bio oil seemed to make it worse but I'll try Aveeno. Bust I had it in my last pregnancy too but didn't get any stretch marks, so they don't necessarily go together! Don't think I'll be that lucky this time as the bump is expanding much faster.

On maternity jeans / trousers I am currently getting by wearing my normal clothes with a elastic band / hairband to extend the button and a bump band that pulls down over the top of my trousers to hide the gaping hole when I can't do them up properly! Maternity tights with empire line / loose dresses are also a good cheaper alternative to buying all new clothes.

Oh and after 2 weeks of resting, I've discovered my tiredness is still here as I'm shattered after 2 days at work! Contemplating taking a day off soon to have a lye down and sleep Blush

Bear I think that the 3 hours must be due to late running. My appointment was delayed by an hour minutes and then I had to wait another hour to see the midwife afterwards. Just wish I'd taken a book. Amateur mistake.

WantToGoingTo · 07/01/2015 20:33

Bosses boss now ill so cancelled meeting tomorrow. I emailed her to tell her cos otherwise own see her til next week! Her response was ''I did wonder before Christmas if you were expecting, congratulations'' - in other words she put my screw up at work an crying all over her down to pg. tbh I think it was stress more than pg as was only 5-6w then and really didn't think it was affecting my work. I was more that I ha an exam then came back to a ton of work and pressure and my absent interim boss emailing me incessantly Hmm but tbh good if she thinks it is pg as gives me a free pass I guess and not just crap at my job Grin

WantToGoingTo · 07/01/2015 20:35

stone I also thought my tiredness had gone as didn't nap in last couple days of hols. But this afternoon and evening I am absolutely exhausted again

Thepurplegiraffe · 07/01/2015 21:03

Mister, I think you can do postnatal courses with NCT, at least that is what I'm hoping to do if I can figure out childcare. One of my friends did it last time and said some of them were 2nd time Mums. They all continued to meet up after the course.

Good news Want, must be a relief.

Naturegirl82 · 07/01/2015 21:20

If there aren't any nct courses mister have a look and see if there are any nct coffee mornings as they might be a good way to meet people. I've just found one meets in the park 30 seconds from my house!

Ceejay14 · 07/01/2015 22:09

I have my scan tomorrow (scared!). Do I need to take my pregnancy notes or are they just for midwife appointments (sorry if this is a stupid question!)

Bustherb · 07/01/2015 22:11

You need to take your pregnancy notes xxxx

Ceejay14 · 07/01/2015 22:13

Thank you! Can you tell I don't have a clue what I am doing?! Blush

Thepurplegiraffe · 07/01/2015 22:15

Good luck! We had to bring change for baby pics too but it might not be the same for you.

Zampa · 07/01/2015 22:27

Baby pics were £3.50 each at my scan (but I got my one for free, which was nice).

LaLa5 · 07/01/2015 22:35

I'm not doing nct as they're £200 where I live so I'm doing the free ones.

I just had my first fitmummy class, it was loads of fun and everyone was lovely. They organise social events too so I'll get to know other mums. There's a yoga class and a more workout focused one. Loved it!

Also got my Asos parcel today - got some lovely mamalicious work clothes and some skinny jeans from new look. Can't believe how comfy the clothes are!

My bump is massive

12+5

misseskimo · 07/01/2015 22:37

Hoping this works as doing on a mobile so screen is a bit skewed... But I officially can't hide my bump anymore! My sister came over this evening after only seeing me at Christmas and made a comment about how huge my bump was. I must admit I felt larger this past two days but just thought it was me being silly as only 14+2 so didn't think would be this noticeable yet... But no, I definitely have a BUMP which is quite hard to touch!! and for a change I'm not bloated or constipated lol sister thinks it's hilarious and commented I'm going to be huge. Charming hey.

I've been told if your naturally a smaller person you tend to show more, not sure how true that is, but I'm usually quite a flat stomached size 8, so right now I feel like an elephant! pic attached for your amusement this is my first DC. Anyone else the same??

JoY007 · 07/01/2015 23:02

I am guessing that NCT and free ante natal classes are the same: one you pay with smaller classes and one you don't.

Can you do both?
I will not mind doing the NCT it's nice to bond with other parents in a smaller group.

[Broody] my DP is the same - miserable, as soon as his sister mentioned that NCT was a good opp to meet other parents he was against it. I am interested and will find a way to drag him there, whether he likes it or not Grin

JoY007 · 07/01/2015 23:22

miss Yep that is me, flat stomach 5 3 and a size 10 pre pregnancy, but the bump is very noticeable. I am 14+3 just 1 day ahead of you. Smile

JoY007 · 07/01/2015 23:37

This is my bump, be amused Grin

July 2015 - more and more beans are seen on scans
WiIdfire · 08/01/2015 06:05

I am at the opposite end of the scale - 6ft tall and size 22 - so no bump for a while yet I wouldn't think. Bonus is fitting into normal clothes a little longer though.

Naturegirl82 · 08/01/2015 06:25

Very noticeable bump here to but this is dc#2 for me. My bump is all ready quite high as well but my uterus had all ready moved above my pelvis before 10 weeks so not really a suprise. 13+3

WantToGoingTo · 08/01/2015 06:28

Gosh miss a) ou are tiny and b) that I a definite round bump! I don't have a flat stomach normally, I am a size 10-12 and my stomach has always stick out a bit so my bump just looks like a fatter stomach atm and it is only hard when I am really bloated after eating! It isn't as rounded as yours but then I am 11+6 so not as far on as you. Will see if I can post a pic later!

Wondering whether there will be a major incident when I get to work today - found out yesterday that all planned surgery cancelled for a week due to no beds cos of A&E pressures! I have never hear them cancel surgery for that long before so who knows! Could be an interesting day at work...

Happy Thursday ladies, good luck to anyone having scans!

11+6

smallgreenbanana · 08/01/2015 06:34

bust Thank you, I had completely forgotten about my notes!

ceejay Me too, this morning! fx :)

WantToGoingTo · 08/01/2015 06:52

Here is my bump fatter stomach

broodylicious · 08/01/2015 07:34

Lovely bumps ladies!! Just had a look at my bump pix from when I was pg with dd - omfg, I was huuuuge at the end!!Blush

Naturegirl82 · 08/01/2015 08:18

broody me too, my bump was all out front. Didn't have a single stretchmark until 35 weeks when they just exploded everywhere! How big was your dd? Dd1 was 9 lb so I guess she had to go somewhere!

broodylicious · 08/01/2015 08:30

Exactly the same nature but Dd was 8lbs 6oz! They thought I'd got polyhydramnios (though it didn't cause any issues for either of us in the end) so I kept on saying to everyone that's why I was so bigBlush Bloody love the bump though, so lovely when you get to the stage of rubbing and you get kicked back.
