Has anyone been brave enough to ask the sex of their baby at the 12 week scan?

I have another week and two days left yet, I feel so behind you ladies!!

My last scan dated me back a week, so will be interesting to see what they say this time.

11+3 (by scan date)

number3 the sonographer kept referring to baby as "he" at my scan!

My scan is on Friday, I'm counting the hours...

Updated on the testing. Saw a very very nice man who did the measurements, we are actually within the measurment for the testing so he's sorted it out with the screening centre and they have accepted it and will perform the testing I asked if he could tell me the sex and he said 75% boy I can't get over how nice he was, he showed me everything even the little bits which is why he thinks boy. Will have a look at the rest of the posts later xxx

Good news bust. It's annoying how the date can change depending on the accuracy of the sonographer. So glad the MW took it seriously for you and it is all sorted now.

Interesting little were you planning on finding out the sex? Either it is a boy or they just refer to all babies as male!

I can't believe how badly some of you are getting treated. You wouldn't think these appointments were routine from the incompetence that is being displayed!

Number I have massive scan envy. I don't have a date to count down to yet. Still waiting for my letter in the post. Have never got this far without a scan before and am anxious to find out everything is ok.

Anyone else battling crazy heartburn/indigestion all day and night? Had it with DS2 in the 3rd trimester, but to have it this early seems ridiculous. I never have it normally.

I feel lots better now, although I'm half thinking that they will cock up something else somehow - I'm 14 weeks today, I take it that they accept the blood even if it takes a day to get there? Great news that they are trying to do something about their almighty cock up Bustherb, hope it works out and you get tested.

I can't believe some of you are still waiting for scan dates. That seems ridiculous to me, I would be tempted to kick off if I was you. We all know the NHS isn't beyond making mistakes.

My scan was cool - baby a little lethargic, but apparently better than most at hospital this afternoon. My friend got sent out for a walk and some chocolate to try and wake baby up. I was as relieved her scan was good as for myself, given that I'd had one only two weeks ago! Anyway here's my pic - baby clapped for us and then kicked a leg but mainly lay on tummy.

The knowing the sex thing was weird yesterday - when I got results from NIFTY they can tell you the sex with 98% accuracy and she asked if I'd asked to know. I had said no but now find it so strange that the receptionist on the phone actually had that info in front of her and I don't know it!

13+2 (down from 13+3 after today's dating!) whatever...

Good news Bust.

I called today to see if my scan could be brought forward as I'm concerned that I'll be 13+3 by then. They said that they can do the nt test up to 14+1. Which is what the NHS info said but midwives and hospitals seem to say different.

Hi all!

So scan went well (and they were on time!!) nuchal fold measurement 1.6mm.

Baby wasn't playing ball and it took ages to get measurements and the picture quality was pretty poor compared to FMC.

Have been referred to consultant due to fibroids, not sure what it means for the pregnancy as a whole as what I have read about them doesn't seem to suggest they're a huge problem

Oh and 12+1 EDD 20th July

Not quite as exciting, but I passed my driving theory test today. I have to learn to drive before lo arrives as
don't want to be stuck at home when DP goes back to work. Will hopefully pass before I get too big to fit behind a wheel.

Great news re scan Fleur! That's funny re fibroids, I had one last pregnancy and this and no one seems to care. Where abouts is yours?
