I'm sticking with gentle exercise at the gym, last time I got massive and regretted it afterwards.

I did lost 6 stone after my daughter was born, but it became obsessive and unhealthy.

I'm trying not to worry this time, just reigning it in a bit once the nausea stops!

Naturegirl82 · 06/01/2015 12:07

I found once I was well into the second trimester the food intake slowed down. And then near the end the baby gets too big anyway and it's a struggle to eat anything.

I'm aiming to keep running for as long as I can this time. I couldn't run last time due to a leg injury and felt really unfit, although I shall have to give up my marathon place in April Sad. I'm thinking of buying the davina pregnancy dvd as well to do at home. I had been doing the insanity work outs but pretty sure they are not suitable when pregnant they are just about suitable for a fit person!.

TinyCaterpillar · 06/01/2015 12:12

Glad you're feeling better number.

Totally agree with Nature re weight gain, you don't know how your body will react so there's no point worrying about it. Just eat if you're hungry. As I said before, I gained a stone by 12 weeks in my first two pregnancies, but only 30lb overall (just over 2 stone) and I lost 1.5 stone in labour both times! I'm just not going to worry with this one, there's literally nothing you can do as long as you're not eating 10 packets of biscuits a day! Grin

itsnotthatdeep · 06/01/2015 12:53

Sad just had the peri natal mental health team on the fone. been booked for an informal assessment in Feb

Thepurplegiraffe · 06/01/2015 12:58

Thanks Broody, not enjoying being back although today is worse as I feel so awful today, partly thanks to dd keeping me awake for half the night.

Last time I weighed myself I had lost 3kg as I am having such a hard time eating. It's really starting to get me down now as if last time is anything to go by I will struggle for the whole pregnancy. Hopefully it won't be this bad though. Sorry for the mini rant.

Great news on the positive scans and low risk results. I am still waiting for mine but I am figuring no news is good news in this case.

Jenbird5891 · 06/01/2015 13:11

Oh my days it's twins!!! Both seem healthy but was not expecting that!! DH nearly fell off his chair hope other scans went well xx

Naturegirl82 · 06/01/2015 13:24

Congrats Jen bet that was a shock. Might take a while to sink in. Smile

Number3cometome · 06/01/2015 13:24

Jenbird5891

OMG! - this really interests me, I assume this was your first scan?

How many weeks? Also have you had bad sickness / symptoms?
Are you showing?

Sorry for all the questions, I just find twins fascinating!

Butler4 · 06/01/2015 13:25

Ah congrats on the twins! That's fantastic nees, although a bit scary too! Smile

WantToGoingTo · 06/01/2015 13:26

Oh my gosh jen! How exciting and terrifying all at once! Bet that was a shock - have you been feeling terrible? Do you have any dc atm?

Jenbird5891 · 06/01/2015 13:26

Oh my, it's twins! Both healthy and good size but was so not expecting that!!! DH nearly fell off his chair! How did others get on?! Xx

Jenbird5891 · 06/01/2015 13:32

This is my first pregnancy and no twins in either our families! Not been feeling too bad. Very little sickness but pretty queasy and very tired. Dated 13+5 dd 9.7.15 and yes first scan so total shock! Was worrying as not put any weight on yet but now thinking prob cos I'm burning it all off with two in there! Not showing much but bloated and trousers too tight to button but had quite flat stomach before. Really not sunk in and gone straight to work. Glad they already knew as def couldn't have kept quiet!! Going to be researching tonight.... Xx

Bustherb · 06/01/2015 13:32

Hi ladies, haven't had chance to catch up on the other posts yet so will have a look after work. Update on the Down's testing, I spoke to my midwife who was horrified by the treatment. She spoke to one of the senior scanners who has asked me to do another blood and they will send along with the NF measurements today, fingers crossed they will take it but there's every chance they will decline and therefore meaning we have to have the 16 week blood test. The hospital have also opened an investigation into my treatment and as my midwife has said are taking it very seriously not that it's any consolation now but I'm happy they're doing something about it. She also said that some years ago they would only go off the NF measurement and she said if that was the case for me I would be considered low risk anyway. So I feel better about that now. We should hear this week if they don't accept my blood but if not it looks like it's all good for the testing Grin xxxxxx

Number3cometome · 06/01/2015 13:51

That's much more encouraging Bustherb! Defo continue with the complaint, it's really bad.

A friend of mine is currently 39 weeks, she had a scan at 32 weeks as she had not been feeling much movement. The sonographer rushed the scan and at the end handed her a printout basically saying the baby was mega small and had no amniotic fluid. My friend was devastated. She didn't see the consultant until the next day, who compared to her previous scan at 30 weeks and commented how the baby had appeared to shrink which was impossible! She was booked in for a scan a week later where a more senior person done the scan, turns out baby is the right size and the other person had fucked it up royally. My friend complained.

The next scan was 36 weeks, and the same sonographer was going to do the scan as messed up before. My friend made it very clear she was not happy, but they did the scan and this time the sonographer made sure she done it correctly.

My friend is also under the same hospital as me and (as long as she hasn't given birth!) is coming to my scan next week with me.

If it means next time someone else doesn't have to go through the same thing, then it's worth complaining.

Overtiredbackagain · 06/01/2015 13:51

Jen - Twins!! Congratulations!!

Bust - Glad you're feeling more reassured and they are investigated so hopefully no-one else will have to go through the same!

broodylicious · 06/01/2015 13:51

Whoever mentioned mcflurries yday is in trouble - after thinking about it all night, I just had to have one!! Yum yum yumSmile

broodylicious · 06/01/2015 14:06

Wow congrats jen! Is that our second set of twins in the group?

number, that's awful treatment your friend received! Fx you don't get the shitty sonographer!

My scan is a week tomorrow. Ridic nervous, abso bricking it. 12 weeks on Thursday - have to get past that point this timeConfusedSad

Fleurchamp · 06/01/2015 14:10

Congrats jen right before my first scan I had a moment when I thought there could be 2 in there, relieved when there was just one but how lovely to have 2 together that can be playmates Grin

Good that they are taking this seriously bust fx the test is ok.

Have an hour and 45 mins before I leave for my scan. No work is getting done at all Confused I cannot concentrate for more than 2 mins

Aretepetite · 06/01/2015 14:19

Bustherb · 06/01/2015 14:21

Another update, had a phone call from my hospital who have rang down to Cardiff where the screening takes place. They want me to be scanned again, so here I am waiting at a different hospital closer to work for anther scan. 4th time lucky? Xx

Congratulations on the twins! Amazing news!

I've just had to make a mad dash to the antenatal clinic, the bloods taking for NT testing wasn't sent off in time so they have had to take more today, I'm hoping they test this lot in time. 14 weeks today

StoneBaby · 06/01/2015 15:11

Jen - congratulations

Had my scan this morning. One healthy heart beat. Very pleased and relieved. Measuring 12 weeks so my EDD has moved up a day.
