Sorry I missed loads of posts! Bust and Over I also missed out on a nuchal scan and they told me that the quad is just as good and would be taken at 16 weeks must book 16 week appointment! Harmony is much more accurate than either so some people go for that if they get a high risk result instead of an amnio which carries some small risks to baby I think. I have my NHS scan on Friday when I will be 14+3 by my scan dates (15 exactly by LMP) so it will just be a dating scan, although I already had a private dating scan but I guess it might change again.

Deep congratulations! What a brilliant start to the new year!

DS insists that he is having a baby sister, not a brother. Not sure about his predictive powers though as he is also adamant that both he and DH have babies in their tummies too! He has named them all too, mostly names of his friends but today he told me that mine is called baby Jesus Grin but is definitely a girl. I think Christmas might have confused him a little.

Overtiredbackagain · 05/01/2015 22:52

Thanks Mister, although if quad is 16 week test, I wonder why my blood was taken at 14 and sent off for quad test? So bloody confusing. Think I may all mw office tomorrow?

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 05/01/2015 23:33

Not sure, maybe they can do it earlier but normally do it at 16 weeks to tie in with scheduled midwife appointments? It's worth giving the midwife a call for reassurance anyway if you're worried, you can report back to the rest of us! First New Years resolution broken (be in bed by 10 on work nights), ah well. Night all!

WantToGoingTo · 06/01/2015 06:29

I am a bit worried about my mw. I found out that she forgot I take my blood pressure at booking , labelled up my blood samples wrong and also forgot to do a questionnaire with me which now means I have to have another blood test. And I haven't got a 16w appt yet or my matb1. I bumped into her at work yest and she is having an operation and is asking another mw to see me at 16w but as she forgot stuff at my appt I wonder whether she will forget to speak to this other mw too? I hasn't had any communication from her since booking and I am 12w on Friday. I would have thought thy would make 16w appt at booking Confused makes me not really trust we though seeing as she forgot loads of stuff. Don't know if she was having an off day or if she is genuinely scatty! Have any if you got your matb1 forms yet?

bustherb and others, I'm in the same situation potentially. Got my scan on Thursday at 13+6 despite the fact that I told midwife cycle could be shorter and thus every chance I will be just out of Nuchal test window -- or surely if bean has grown a tiny bit more than expected?

As I'm 35 and my scan got booked weeks and weeks ago, I really think the hospital should have made more of an effort to be on the safe side. So far I have not been impressed with the hospital, my gp surgery nor mw who have all made mistakes. Just hoping that things improve!

smallgreenbanana · 06/01/2015 06:55

On the plus side, I told my boss who was so pleased! Grin Really nice of him. His wife is expecting earlier this year so that helped I'm sure. Still keeping it under wraps for every one else at least until scan though.

Littledragon13 · 06/01/2015 07:22

want according to my notes you get your matb1 forms at your 16 week appointment x

LaLa5 · 06/01/2015 07:24

Want I've been told I make my own 16 week appt but because I'm only 12+4 I've not made it yet. You get your form at the 16 wk appt

Romeolovesjuliet · 06/01/2015 07:35

Morning all. First day back today and train cancelled so will be late! I start at 8am though and boss on hols this week so no one around to really care but still, frustrating!
As far as I know you have to be at least 20 wks to get your matb1 (that's when I've got it in both previous pregnancies anyway).
On the bonuses/payrises ours ate done in April so think I am out as will have to tell them before then! I am going to push it this year though as have not had anything bonus wise since having my 2 babies and although they are discretionary they have to be very careful about not awarding to other team members at the exclusion of pregnant women/women on maternity leave. I work alongside a young single male so if he gets anything I expect to as well, very much doubt he won't so could work in my favour this time! (I'm also a solicitor and totally agree they are often the worst).

Bustherb · 06/01/2015 07:51

Hi ladies, woke up this morning and feeling quite positive about the whole screening situation. Not sure what we will do yet but I'm going to speak with my midwife today to see what she says too and probably go with what she advises. Congrats to all that have told work/positive scans and screening tests back as low risk. I'll post back later to tell everyone what the midwife says xxx

Overtiredbackagain · 06/01/2015 08:08

Typical! Typed massive message and its disappeared.

Long and short of it is mw doesn't do bloods, that just hospital so guessing that's why quad test done at 14 weeks, results will be back in time for next midwife appointment end of January. Am just going to try and wait it out. Each day without a phone call from hospital re results is a bonus?

Bust glad you're feeling more positive. Let us know what your mw says?

I have a pair of maternity tights on today - pure bliss Grin

Mrsc020987 · 06/01/2015 08:09

Good luck to all having scans and screenings. Sicky nausea has subsided slightly thank god! Is anyone else still waiting on dating scan appointment? I'm 12+0 today according to dates still no appointment. Only god booked in last week after being cancelled and double booked. Luckily had private scan at 9 weeks, sonographer said dates and scan matched but at that stage cant give a due date as it can change by up to a fortnight at 12 week stage. I also have been in maternity clothes only for weeks! Completely obvious bump, there is no hiding it. Baby 3 tho, showed early with dd2 too! Off for two massive croissants and a mug of coffee now I can stomach I again!

smallgreenbanana · 06/01/2015 08:22

bustherb glad you are feeling more positive. Smile Let us know how you get on.

Thinking about everyone's snacks from yesterday, I have 6 tangerines in my bag this morning, plus 1 banana and some bread and butter. Hope 6 tangerines is enough -- I think I might turn orange from all the satsumas, clementine and tangerines I've been eating recently, but they are so good for when a wave of nausea strikes!

Overtiredbackagain · 06/01/2015 08:22

Mrsc baby number 3 for me too and I feel and look massive! Not sure I'm fooling anyone with long cardigan and scarf?! ??

But these tights are sooo comfortable, have been too scared to spend too much but damn it, I'm off out to try and find more today! The city is rubbish for maternity stuff though Confused

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 06/01/2015 08:29

Urgh, DS didn't sleep well and up early, as a consequence I was sick again this morning (first time since Friday, I thought it was getting better!) and now feel disgusting.

Want I didn't get matb1 until after 20 week scan last time. Also have to book 16 week appointment myself. Do you know the name of the midwife who you're supposed to see at 16 weeks? It might be worth speaking to her directly or just the midwife team to check an appointment has been made for you.

Mrsc020987 · 06/01/2015 08:39

I've given up trying to find shops with maternity ranges, big stores in Glasgow city centre told me to go to the smaller stores in shopping malls which you can imagine has about 2 rails of granny style stretchy things! Asos has been my saviour!!

Jenbird5891 · 06/01/2015 08:54

I am so nervous about scan this morning! Heart is racing! Think I'll be taking some rescue remedy in a min.it did the job on my wedding day!

Overtiredbackagain · 06/01/2015 08:56

All the stores like Next and that it seems you can only get online. We have a New Look which has a small section, I'll pop there quickly on way to office if this damn train moves again Confused I've ordered some Jersey dresses on eBay which I'm hoping with do me for a while and again once peanut arrives. I forgot about Asos, I'll check them out later. I'm sure last time I got couple of bits from Asda George?

Overtiredbackagain · 06/01/2015 08:58

Good luck Jen, let us know how you get on!

Naturegirl82 · 06/01/2015 09:01

bust glad you are feeling more positive today. I actually can't believe how badly the service is for some of you. I remember feeling like a number rather than a person last time which is why I opted for the 1-2-1 service. It's such a shame that it isn't available in all areas.

I've not even bothered looking in shops for maternity stuff this time. Put a very large order into asos yesterday which is being delivered today Smile but I will send half of it back. I just find it hard to judge the sizes and the different makes all size differently. At least it is free returns.

Nearly threw up in the car whilst driving on the motorway this morning. Not a pleasant experience.

Interesting about the cheese being a boy. I craved oranges and eggs last time and this time it is most definitely cheese I want.

I don't want to worry anyone unnecessarily but something to bear in mind. The wrong theory of the dating scan is that all babies grow at the same rate in the first 12 weeks rubbish. So if you are being measured outside of 12 weeks then the scan date may not match up with your own date. Shouldn't be an issue except that they only like to let you go two weeks over your due date before they encourage being induced (you can refuse and ask for monitoring instead). I was very certain of my dates with dd1, and the scan at 9 weeks confirmed this, at the 12 week scan (3 weeks after 9 weeks) they tried to push my due date forward by 2 weeks. I didn't actually agree to this and eventually they re-measured and only pushed it forward by 4 days shows the accuracy of the sonographer!. I went into labour 8 days over due from their date (4 by mine) which was fine. But if I had let them push my due date further forward they would have been pushing for an induction. Just something to bear in mind.

broodylicious · 06/01/2015 09:06

Good luck jen!

purple, hope work was ok for you yesterday x

WantToGoingTo · 06/01/2015 09:21

Oh oranges, I could eat them til the dogs come home! Oranges, olives, most fruit and veg tbh. Gone off carbs other than potatoes. Though I am even less keen on potatoes now unless they are fried (like the homemade potato rosti had lat night for dinner Grin also kind of gone off meat Confused

Number3cometome · 06/01/2015 09:22

Good luck for all the scans today!

Bustherb and Over - glad you are feeling a bit better today.

So I weighed myself, 9lb gain. WTF

Defo going gym again today!!

I cannot slow down on the eating, as if I don't eat I feel sick (if I do not immediately eat after waking I am sick)

I have opted for a Boots shapers pasta salad for breakfast, with olives and a smoothie. Half as much cals as the M&S one.

Urgh I hate thinking about calories, but blatantly my 9lb is just greed!!

Number3cometome · 06/01/2015 09:23

Oops 11+3

Fleurchamp · 06/01/2015 09:45

I am definitely looking fat round my middle (not so much bump as general all-round roundness, DH commented that I have fat on my hips Hmm).

The scales say I have put on 1lb though so I don't know where this has come from, muscle wastage?
