I'm refusing to buy any until after my scan. I don't believe it's real right now.

Ceejay14 · 04/01/2015 09:36

Ive bought a couple of pairs of over the bump trousers but my best friend told me yesterday she'd found them uncomfortable until late on. Luckily she followed the comment up with the loan of 2 massive bags of maternity clothes. Looks like I'm now set for everything (including a dress to wear to a wedding!) that I'll need Smile

WantToGoingTo · 04/01/2015 10:01

small I bought over bump ones as under bump were way too low rise for my liking. I fold over the waist band which makes them comfortable til I have a bump big enough :)

broody I think he is better now than a few weeks ago! The op was a success and he is relieved they found out and fixed it. Bit of a strange start to the year but hopefully can only get better!

Still no response from work... I am wondering whether she isn't checking work emails and it gone to junk in her personal emails. Couldn't sleep as so nervous sbout it

Miss - yes I've got really dry skin, my scalp is so dry which I thought was because I had my hair done but it's been going on for weeks now. My face is also dry except for my mouth area which is really painful with spots.

Any tips on getting rid of headaches? I've had a really bad one since yesterday and I can't seem to get rid of it Hmm xx

Pipbin · 04/01/2015 10:23

Tried on my work trousers. They still fit!

TinyCaterpillar · 04/01/2015 10:26

Me too on the headaches Bustherb - nothing seems to help (well paracetamol!). In the past I've used origins peace of mind which is really good (lotiony stuff kind of like 4head, you rub it into temples) but I've run out at the moment - might have to send DH out for more!

I've got over bump jeans this time, had the side panel ones from topshop before but they're so worn out they had to go. I'm quite short so with maternity jeans it's a case of what fits (apparently you cant be short AND pregnant!) and I found some over bump petite jeans in the sale so I just got them. The band is so warm - I love it! I did like the under bump style in the early stages last time but by the end it was annoying, the waistband dug into the bump and they were constantly falling down.

I've also ordered a maternity skirt, jacket, casual dress and swimming costume - I've got a wardrobe full of other mat stuff so I'm hoping that will do!

Bustherb · 04/01/2015 10:42

Yeah I've got some of the 4head, seems to take the edge off a bit. Sometimes i get headaches when Im having a bad day with MS but I've been sick today and even that hasn't eased it. Think I'll go for a lie down xx

WantToGoingTo · 04/01/2015 11:05

tiny where did you get your petite maternity clothes from? I am short, 5'3'' and have rolled up the jeans I bought as they are too long! Didn't realise you could get petite maternity clothes as I haven't seen any!

Littledragon13 · 04/01/2015 11:09

number3 sending lots of hugs and reassurance your way xx

TinyCaterpillar · 04/01/2015 11:28

Want there are some but very hard to find! Basically forget getting anything in petite apart from jeans (and the odd unflattering pair of black nylon work trousers). I mainly wore dresses last time, weirdly mat dresses tend to be quite short anyway. I've also invested in a denim skirt this time, I'm just glad I don't need to look very formal for work!

Topshop do different leg lengths, also Next. I got jeans this time from here www.funmum.com and they seem pretty good, they're a good length and 'true' skinny, not straight leg which swamps me a bit.

WantToGoingTo · 04/01/2015 11:49

tiny thanks will take a look! Yes the jeans I have say they Re skinny but really they are straight leg. I much prefer the ankle hugging proper skinny jeans! :)

Work replied to my email - huge relief as she was v nice :) just for the scan and then announcing to the rest of the work world now!

smallgreenbanana · 04/01/2015 12:08

Oh, to have skinny legs! I have completely the opposite problem as I'm a pear. Things that fit me round the legs and bum are baggy around the waist, and things that fit me around the waist are embarrassingly tight, unflattering and uncomfortable everywhere else. When I sit down in low-rise trousers my bum sticks out the top! Most of the maternity trousers and jeans seem to be straight or skinny fit and totally unsuitable for me. And forget buying nice winter boots -- they don't zip up around my calves! Sad I make it sound like I'm an elephant, but before I got pregnant I was a size 10! I've gone up a cup size - now I'm an A cup!!! I'm just a completely different shape to the majority of people it seems...

Apologies for slight rant...

smallgreenbanana · 04/01/2015 12:10

want Glad work was nice to you. One less thing for you to worry about. Smile I think I'll be telling my line manager later this week, assuming scan goes well on Thursday. fx

WantToGoingTo · 04/01/2015 12:33

small weirdly enough I have same problem re long boots. I am a size 10-12 (10 on top, 12om bottom) and found it v hard to get any long boots that would do up over my calves. And I don't think I have fat legs Hmm found some eventually but after trying on about 50 pairs of boots to no avail. They are all made for stick-legged women!! I do like my skinny jeans though, anything other than skinny makes my legs look big I think cos I am short!

smallgreenbanana · 04/01/2015 12:46

want Someone suggested to me that I look in Evans as they have boots for big-calved people? I have never tried it as I would feel very self-conscious wandering in there, but I'm beginning to think maybe I should just bite the bullet. After all, there is going to zero dignity in child birth!! Grin

Aretepetite · 04/01/2015 13:00

Leela & Purple I'm sorry you both went through the same thing in Sept.Flowers

Pipbin · 04/01/2015 13:07

Small I have the same problem as you. I couldn't even get boots in Evans to fit. I got some in Clarks a few years ago with elastic panels on the side. I was so excited to fid boots that fitted that I bought two pairs!

Aretepetite · 04/01/2015 13:22

Glad to hear that your work have got back to you Want and she was nice :)

Oh Little i'm so bloody happy that you loved it Grin I just looked at the site again and I love love love it Envy I was intending to get a secondhand pram until now- I do need the travel system for our needs and having not had a new 1 for 18 yrs, I may treat this lo and me Grin

I am going to find a stockist and go have a look, its the least I can do to support you Wink
In all seriousness, I think it is tope of the range foe smaller price tag. Glad you have your little beans chariot Pram :)

Hope your headache is easing of Bust they come on a lot heavier in pg. fx it lifts a bit for you x

Aretepetite · 04/01/2015 13:23

typos :( sorry !

Bustherb · 04/01/2015 14:24

Ah thanks arete. A can of full fat coke has done the trick!!! Thank god for that Smile xx

Aretepetite · 04/01/2015 14:32

Glad to hear it Bust they can be so debilitating :)

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/01/2015 14:50

Thanks Arete, you too. Hopefully we will all be fine this time around.

Aretepetite · 04/01/2015 15:26

Yes Purple I'm sure we will (fx)
I feel better the further along I get due to the stats in relation to mc and early pg. If I allow myself to worry now it would be worse being further so I am determined to remain positive Grin
I did not enjoy this pg at the beginning, didn't speak about it or tell anyone. DH was the same, the comparison to the way we felt last time was like night and day. Slowly, just over the past week or two we have began 'believing' it and allowing ourselves to look forward to it. Shared the good news, talking and planning and it is great Grin

broodylicious · 04/01/2015 16:34

What kind of human doesn't like chocolate?!?! My baby for one!! Every time I've eaten any, I've thrown it back up within half an hourShockConfused V different to pg with dd.

Aretepetite · 04/01/2015 16:52

How very inconsiderate of your lo Broody Grin although I think you may be thanking him/her in the near future for this aversion :) Hopefully you do find something you both agree with soon Flowers

It's feeding time again then have a couple of things on afterwards. I hope to be home at a decent time and will look to catch up with you lot then :)

Happy Sunday xx
