Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 18th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 35th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

I'm due on July 3rd though, not on the 2nd...

Anyway, it is nearly Christmas and I cannot wait!

morning all. fwiw sil found pampers leaked a lot. think she uses Huggies. although she has started using the reusable ones for dnc. I don't like them though, they look far too big on her (they are a one size fits all kind of thing) and look really uncomfy. I think in principal they are a good idea but in reality disposable sounds much more simple!

I need to right this stuff down about creams and stuff so I don't end up getting you to repeat yourselves in 6months time!

Morning all, thank you for the kicks up the arse last night, I finished the tree, it is pretty and Christmassy :)

I'm trying to decide whether to go out into town this afternoon to watch the hobbit. DH is at work and has his Christmas do tonight, black tie apparently! But no partners allowed and he's an hour and a half away, so he'll be back really late. Am tempted to go eat popcorn by myself, but dunno if I can be bothered to go into town this close to Christmas! Hmmm

Cinema will be fine Zyla, will be a nice time-killer.

Actually I think the basic pampers do leak. You need to get the baby dry ones.

Oh bawbags I just lost a huge post. What a donkey.

In summary -
@furrynipples #grin
La nappy sacks are also essentials and does Ewan the sheep really look like the inside of a womb?! Microwave/steam sterilisers are a lot easier and quicker than Milton.
Hope all is ok Wil did you get your results?
It's not my last day (wail) but got some extra work thanks to someone else not finishing things before they went on holiday Xmas Angry
DP wants to do reusables, I'm stocking up on Aldi's finest. They do special offers now and again when they have their baby range in.
Plasterer just called in sick (sob) nursery will have to wait Sad

That's a great price for Lansinoh - stock up. You only use a tiny bit, I only used it sporadically, after a feed if it was painful and it's wonderful stuff. One tube lasted 4m and by then it didn't hurt :)

I toyed with the idea of reusable nappies for about five minutes. Winter baby, smells of poo lingering until I put the washing on (even though BM poo isn't unpleasant), carrying it around in a change bag on long walks... We always used Pampers - new baby, active fit and baby dry. Use the pull-ups for night-time now - debating whether the box of 100 or so we have left will last until DD decides to be dry at night of if we need more...

@furrynipples - I would join Twitter just for that Grin

Enjoy the cinema Zyla

I have two hours and 20 minutes to pack everything we need for the Christmas break and all I want to do is vomit. If you see me here, shout at me!

We generally use the tesco disposables, Sainsbury's size up a little small, we don't go to Asda so I have no real experience with their nappies apart from an occasional donated pack here and there. I didn't really get on with Aldi / Lidl nappies but can't put my finger on why. Mum loves Waitrose nappies. Pampers have a useful wet indicator but I find them to be pretty overpriced without being much better.

Ooh the Aldi baby event is awesome. They have offers on nappies, muslims, blankets, bottles etc. Def go to one if you can.

Hope all goes well at the midwife.Wil I have period pains pretty much every night now tbh - figure it's just our bodies gearing up for things! Shock

The last Aldi event was September so they should be due another one pretty soon... I reckon January once all the Christmas stuff and exercise stuff (for NY resolutions) is gone. I got a super cheap Tommee Tippee microwave steriliser and muslins after the event when they reduced to clear last time. I was wondering who'd be the first to get a muslin autocorrect! Well done Popz!

I'd go Zyla! Was planning to go to see the Hobbit by myself as DS ditched me to go with his friends. However their plans fell through so he wants me to take him again. Great opportunity to mess with him [evil cackle]

Right I REALLY need to get some work done! Maybe I'll get a coffee first though.....

I totally recommend the 'miracle blanket' from Mothercare it is vair easy to use and makes the transition from sleeping in arms into the Moses basket/cot. Also a big dummy fan, DS was effectively using me as one in the early days, it certainly calmed him down and never affected his teeth or speech (MN stealth alert, but he was talking in full sentences by 18months)

I plan to do a colustrum feed or two if I can, but have decided to not give myself a hard time about bf this time. I hated it. Hated it. It made me miserable, I started to dread DS waking up and was well on my way to pnd. I don't want to start going into my full feelings because it's not very helpful or supportive to anyone.

I got fed up justifying myself when I had a good supply and DS had a good latch (boke, sorry it creeps me out!) it just wasn't for me. I have a number of friends who've bf very successfully and I am very much the minority!

Don't forget Muslin cloths! Use them for EVERYTHING! You'll have no idea at first then Suddenly they become the most useful thing ever!

My mum calls them muslims, as if she'd never heard of them. She's only had two kids and worked with babies for 34 years. Hmm

I've got some great big muslins from the nappy lady website. They're much bigger than the normal squares and wash out nicely. The brand is Muslinz. I've also got some giant ones which are ridiculous but good for covering up out and about.

Starting reusables from the cloth nappy library tomorrow...so worried about staining them but heyho!

OOOH! I'm going to Costa later with my SIL & nephews so am v excited to check out these festive hot chocs!

Let me know how you get on with them Juni.

Suddenly my plain hot chocolate I'm drinking seems awfully dull.

That's actually good to know Popz, although I hope I'm not 'gearing up' quite yet. I probably just had a panic because it's a new thing for me.

As much as my midwife seems to be a nice person, I really think she can't be arsed. Didn't take my bloods even though she said last time she was going to. Wouldn't enter into a discussion about the birth at all. Mumbled something about pains just being ligaments stretching which I suppose could be true but she didn't seem very confident about any of it. Said my sample was clear though which is good but the proper one is still not back from the fecking lab so guess it will be Monday now. Which wouldn't piss me off so much had they told me that originally. She is sending me for a growth scan next week though so one bonus and it means I'll have to leave work early. Feeling pretty deflated, uncomfortable and fed up. I'm well aware I'm capable of being a massive hypochondriac but I really feel she doesn't listen to me at all. It was the same last pg when I told her my waters were leaking and she just dismissed it. Then my scan (a good few weeks later) showed that I hardly had any left. And breathe.

Sorry rant over. I needed to get that all out and this seemed like the best place. Got an appointment at 12.30 and then having a total duvet afternoon.
