Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 18th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 35th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

I meant to say the other day... My SIL is an absolute star! For my birthday/Christmas present she's made me a mum-to-be/new mum hamper, complete with a letter in it about what each item is for. I got:

A dressing gown and comfy slippers for in hospital and the night shifts after.

A wheat wrap for warming for early labour pains and also after birth pains.

Some big tops for when nothing else will fit!

Some vests for layering for breastfeeding (pull vest down and other top up etc etc)

A huge mug with hot chocolate and flavoured teas for keeping hydrated and warm when breastfeeding.

Some chocolates to help me keep my sugars up when breastfeeding.

A new sponge bag complete with small size toiletries for hospital, maternity pads for leakage after birth, Lanisoh nipple cream (with note saying is is the best thing ever!), and nice toiletries for baths when I get home after birth and a box of nipple pads, again for leakage.

How thoughtful is that?! it may have made me cry on Christmas morning because it was so nice!! she also got my size right for dressing gown etc without asking, bless.

teejayem · 29/12/2014 14:39

aww zyla that's so lovely! what a legend your SIL is!!

RPopz · 29/12/2014 15:54

Oh Zyla that is so lovely and thoughtful! Exactly the kind of present a pregnant lady needs. I think I'd cry too Smile

Tee - different hospitals have different policies on it. Our clinic will tell you if you ask but there are posters up EVERYWHERE warning about the 10% inaccuracy rate! Apparently in some areas they won't tell you because of the ethnicity demographic....

Bag is packed! Period pains gone since I birthed a poo baby this morning. Arses.

RPopz · 29/12/2014 15:56

Sorry about the hamster Dulce Sad How did you keep the pusses away from it all these years??

Leela5 · 29/12/2014 16:18

Dulcet poor hammy :( was it old age?

teejayem · 29/12/2014 16:20

I booked a scan for Sunday :o - I've done a quick scope around and I'm not confident they will tell us - there are three hosps in the area and I know for sure one of them doesn't because of certain ethnic implications, so sod it!

DulcetMoans · 29/12/2014 16:28

What are the ethnic considerations? Is that if there is a preference in some cultures? Cos thats awful! Sunday is something too look forward too though tee! Does Mr Tee know yet?

Only one of the cats was ever bothered by the hamster popz and as soon as she was in the ball cat would run away anyway! She was getting on, about 2.5yrs. Started to look it over the past few weeks too so not a surprise.

Great gift zyla, very thoughtful. Not surprised at tears.

Leela5 · 29/12/2014 16:31

My other post got lost :( I'll have to do it again...

Fleurchamp · 29/12/2014 16:37

tee our hospital won't tell the gender either. Apparently, in some cultures there is a preference. Quite shocking, but nothing to stop then going elsewhere for a scan if it's that important to them....

I am heading out tonight about an hour's drive away. currently sitting on the sofa trying to muster the enthusiasm!! Anyone else feeling like they just want to curl up at home all the time?

teejayem · 29/12/2014 16:43

yeah dulce in some cultures there's a preference for male children, and in extreme cases it can lead to some extreme actions if you catch my drift - not being melodramatic, MiL works in the hosp I mentioned which doesn't disclose gender in pregnancy for that reason.

TheBooMonster · 29/12/2014 17:03

zyla that sounds absolutely fab!!

oh blimey! bit worrying that some people could be so set on one gender or the other that they've decided not to tell people across the board! If that was the policy here we wouldn't have been able to find out at all because we just can't justify a private scan...

RPopz · 29/12/2014 17:05

Yup as others have said, some members of certain cultures specifically want boy babies... Horrific.

Book first, ask questions later... like your style Tee Wink

laurenamium · 29/12/2014 17:06

Fleur I felt like that in the first trimester, I just wanted to be at home and cosy and I had no energy at all to do anything. I'm pretty much back to normal again now and have my energy back! Grin

My DM is taking me horse shopping either tomorrow or NYE for a horse for her Grin I love horse shopping even more than shoe shopping!

I've got my next scan date through, a week tomorrow. Going by what this scan shows and the consultant says I think I will be getting everything ready and organised early incase he has to make an early appearance!

ZylaB · 29/12/2014 17:36

tee Sunday scan will be ace! :)

lauren fx for your scan! How far along are you?

My next one Is 14th jan, aaaages away!

laurenamium · 29/12/2014 17:46

I'm 23 weeks now so will be 24+3 by the next one. They said they would do steroids and things if growth slows any more so I've got a few weeks at the very minimum, he could stay put until full term but my need for control is taking over a bit I think!

ZylaB · 29/12/2014 18:01

I know what you mean! I know I'll be induced early, but not how early, they keep saying it depends on growth scans, and probably 38 weeks, then another says 37, then someone said 39!! My inner control freak needs to know too :)

RPopz · 29/12/2014 18:24

Welcome to our world Grin

laurenamium · 29/12/2014 18:29

Grin Glad it's not just me with the control issues!

Pisghetti · 29/12/2014 18:29

Good luck with the scans ladies! Boo your employers sound like arses.

Well with my earlier dithering about car seats I've now bought three. I maintain I need them all and I've saved money in the process. Just need to convince DP when he's back now.......

TheBooMonster · 29/12/2014 18:42

lauren and zyla I was induced with DD, they did growth scans at (just under or on) 32 and 36 weeks, she had very little growth between the two scans so kept me in after the 36 week scan and gave me steroids (2 injections 24 hours apart) they gave me the pessary roughly 24 hours after the second injection. I believe they'll be quite reluctant to induce you very early unless keeping baby in would be a danger to you or baby, this time round I have scans at 28, 32 and 36 (each +5) but they still won't induce me until 37 weeks unless there's also reduced movement. That said a girl in my April group had her baby delivered last night an she's 25 weeks (!) but she'd been in hospital for weeks with them trying to stop her contractions...

they really are pis but they even try and put an actual disciplinary on my file PiL are all prepped and ready to get their solicitor involved they don't beat around the bush! and I've mentioned this to the right gossipy people at work to ensure management hear that they are playing a different ball game with me than they are with some of the other staff they walk over...

I am an awful person... have disposed of the leftovers from earlier pizza and proposed a pizza to DH from the same place will just need to make sure my details are on the order in case they phone to check there hasn't been a mistake... can't get enough of the cinnamon pizza...

lol pis are they all suitable for different sages or do you have three cars that they can go in?

laurenamium · 29/12/2014 18:47

Grin At the secret pizza eating boo I like your style! I have scans fortnightly now until 32 weeks, then weekly from then on so they're keeping a close eye on me! Poor DD will be sick of the place by the time the baby comes!

laurenamium · 29/12/2014 18:48

3 car seats pis?! Shock Which ones?

RPopz · 29/12/2014 19:06

LOL Boo! Grin

Pisghetti · 29/12/2014 19:44

Haha good skills Boo!

Well I emailed kiddicare to see if they'd price match the argos offer of £67.99 for the black Cabriofix which wasn't in stock in my area. Meanwhile my friend recommended the Britax max-fix 2 which is a rear facing isofix seat suitable from birth to 4years and is currently half price in Mothercare (£137 instead of £275) so I ordered two on the basis that when I replace my car (sometime in the next fortnight) I'll have one with isofix anchors and we'd have the other one in DPs car. Then kiddicare came back and said yes they'd match the argos offer and I was thinking that as I can use a belt on it and it fits the pram I might as well get that one too and use my Britax when baby outgrows the cabriofix. I need to stop now though Blush

RPopz · 29/12/2014 22:21

Ah I see. It sounds less outrageous now you've explained it Pis! Grin

Assembled the bednest and pram this evening. Pram doesn't fit through the back door in its fully assembled state.... Angry Fucking crappy kitchen layout. Anyhoo, we're ready.... YOU CAN COME OUT NOW BABY!
