New thread, as the other one was nearly full! Can someone please post the stats page, as I'm useless with things like that!

Yep I remember, until I discovered selfridges and spent half of my pocket money buying good bras, as I hated the m&s ones my mum bought Grin

My hip / pelvis pain is back but on the left side argghhh! Difficult to sleep, as I can't sleep on sides and sleeping on front is uncomfortable for me Confused I shall survive!

StoneBaby · 15/12/2014 15:38

Childcare over here in about £1,250 a month for full time position. No vouchers as it doesn't exist.

I'm planning to go to work tomorrow am and then take time off in the afternoon as I really could hibernate at the moment. Counting down the days until the weekend as I'll be travelling to France where we'll spent the holidays until 4th Jan. can't wait

Overtiredbackagain · 15/12/2014 15:39

See Number3, almost exactly the same!!! I agree too, I'm looking forward to having the summer off with the eldest two. We'll try and save some money to see if I can get an extra month, but I doubt it, same position as you I earn double OH. He will work extra hours etc and he will pay for baby nursery but I'll still pay the rent etc - part of me still wants to be as financially independent as possible, does that sound awful??

scrivette · 15/12/2014 15:41

That sounds lovely StoneBaby.

Threeplus1 · 15/12/2014 15:52

I've been there with the crippling child are costs when I had DS and dd1 just 15 months apart. Luckily since moving here during my mat leave with dd2, we've been able to get by on DH's wage alone. Things will be tight for sure (especially space wise!) but I don't have to worry about childcare or the associated costs.

My main concern is having this baby at the start of what are 10 week summer holidays, with a 12 yr old, 10 year old and 4 year old to entertain and keep busy Confused dh will only be able to take a week's holiday or unpaid leave as there's no paternity leave or pay here and we definitely need his wage Sad

Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 16:01

Stone - fucking hell, I'd be skint.

Sounds like you are going to have a lovely time off in France, take it easy and enjoy Smile

Over - Yep financial independence is very important to me. It has been instilled in me, my Ex didn't work was a lazy twat and I was breadwinner. I am not great with money, but I do work hard for it Grin

Joy - What is with the hip pain! I had it Friday til Sunday. I was hoping it wasn't anything to do with my metalwork in my back, but it has eased today so hoping it is fine now.

I want to go bra shopping now.

Sherbet38 · 15/12/2014 16:24

Hi ladies

I have a reassurance scan after work today, I'm 9+6. Felt ok about it all wkd, was looking forward to (hopefully) knowing everything's OK... but now feeling really nervous Sad

Fingers crossed everything's OK.

Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 16:25

Sherb best of luck! Hope all goes well and update us later x

StoneBaby · 15/12/2014 16:50

Number childcare is expensive over here but most wages are also higher than the UK

StoneBaby · 15/12/2014 16:56

Do you think we inspired this thread Grin

fattycow · 15/12/2014 17:11

number3, Primark usually only has a few bras in my size and anything above E is nearly impossible again.

Evening everyone, been manic with work so not dropped in for a while. Hope everyone is doing well.

I have my scan tomorrow. I'm totally in denial that there is anything in there. Other than sore boobs and hunger I don't have any symptoms at all anymore!
DH had broken up from school so will be there too- he is very excited!

Like a few of you, I'm planning to go back to work quickly but were saving like buggery now so we can have the summer off together and do some nice things.

Pipbin · 15/12/2014 17:35

Don't forget that after April you can share you maternity leave. You get 50 weeks in total but how you chose to split them up is up to you.
You can both take 25 weeks at the same time or one takes 20 weeks and the other takes 30 weeks for example.

JoY007 · 15/12/2014 17:36

number tell me about it! I am fed up with it already, hopefully it will ease off by tomorrow, just like last time which took 1 day.

Thinking of cost, but don't want to worry, already disciplining myself to cut back on spending and get my financial into a good shape before baby arrives. I get 6 months mat, that should help, and think DP and I can share paternity, with new laws.

Pipbin · 15/12/2014 17:37

WantToGoingTo · 15/12/2014 17:38

Think I will take 9m off - so no time completely unpaid. DH earns slightly more than me, but not much more. We have savings to cover cost of mortgage and bills etc for a year, but we want more than one child so we don't want to use all the pot at once as leaving some of it will give us a head start with the next one :) wish I could take a year though! Going to add on all my annual leave which should give me an extra month off so not all bad.

Scan on Thursday and getting slightly terrified now. Keep knicker watching I am so paranoid :(

8+3

WantToGoingTo · 15/12/2014 17:39

Also although the NHS pay badly, their mat leave is really good! 8 weeks full pay, 18 weeks half pay, and then statutory pay only for remaining 13 weeks. You can take 13 weeks unpaid as well but we can't really afford that.

SophieBarringtonWard · 15/12/2014 17:41

Evening all.

Haven't decided what I will do about work, I work very part time sessions so might go back around 6 months when baby might not need the boob so much! My mum/dad will do childcare as they do now, I only work up to 4 hrs once or twice a week so it isn't too much for them!

Feeling impatient for my scan which isn't till next week (my choice so DH can come too, he can't take time off work for antenatal appointments), I will be 13+4 but I think I have a week in hand due to long cycles so not worried about making NT cut off.

Has anyone got thoughts about Facebook announcements? I don't mind seeing other peoples but I know some people find them upsetting! And I don't really want to tell the world but it's an easy way of telling wider acquaintances...

broodylicious · 15/12/2014 17:51

number, do you have other kids (that are under aged 15) with your dh? If so, he can start taking childcare vouchers now and save them up for when you need them for bubba. (I used to work for a cv provider so fairly up on this shizzle!)

purple, yes I remember that being said too re milk supply. I found I didn't want any wires near my buzzies towards the end anyway! Grin

naty, really pleased they could move your scan appt. must feel like a weight off your mind now? Smile

itsnotthatdeep · 15/12/2014 17:59

finally got my scan appointment through on the 29 /12 Shock I'll be 13+3 by then.

I've been feeling shocking todaySad

all ive done all this afternoon is lie down n feel sorry for myself

Hope everyone else is well

TouchPauseEngage · 15/12/2014 18:02

sophie we will just text or our close friends. News travels pretty fast.

I suppose an FB announcement depends on who your FB friends are. I have loads of old school mates and acquaintances on mine who A) don't need to know and B) could be going through fertility issues.
DH and I took a while to get a BFP and there were a few times when announcements on FB which really stung.
If I had my way I wouldn't tell most people till 20 weeks but given the size of my belly now I don't thibk I'll manage that!

itsnotthatdeep · 15/12/2014 18:04

Soph we ended up announcing via FB because a relative has a massive mouth and I didnt want anyone finding out via gossip. The only sensitive issue I had is my bro n sil are having massive issues, but I called first and let her know which im sure she appreciated.

me and my other half are massive sneakerfreaks so I just posted a pair of Baby Stan Smiths and the wording "it looks like the next pair I'll be buying will be tiny ones in approx late June Wink" Nothing cutesy Wink

TouchPauseEngage · 15/12/2014 18:08

itsnot one of my close friends has just had a miscarriage at 6 weeks after their first (and only) ivf attempt. I'm dreading telling her - she's the sort of person who was born to be a mum and I hate that it might not happen Sad

JoY007 · 15/12/2014 18:08

Thanks pipbin for the link Smile

Naturegirl82 · 15/12/2014 18:11

Just had my booking in with mw. Very informal as she is the same lady I had last time so spent most of the time playing with the dog so she all ready has my details. She had a feel of my tummy though and thought could feel my uterus so tried to find a heartbeat with the doppler and found it Grin . So she is a little concerned I'm a bit further along than I thought but I don't think it's possible. Got my scan booked in for the 30th but she is trying to see if she can get me one next Tuesday instead just in case I am further along. Flu jab tonight so full on day.
