New thread, as the other one was nearly full! Can someone please post the stats page, as I'm useless with things like that!

Is anyone else snappy? My OH said I have been rather 'assertive' this weekend.

Then last night said I was snappy! Hmm

IBelieveInPink · 15/12/2014 10:43

Ahh bra dilemmas. I haven't really shrunk back since dd, now seem to be getting bigger again!! Arghhh!

What is the bra intervention you all keep mentioning?

Finally got a scan date!! New Year's Eve.... Woohoo!!

Overtiredbackagain · 15/12/2014 10:46

Ha ha "Assertive" Number3! Love it, sounds better than snappy!

But yes, all perfectly normal Grin

Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 10:52

IBelieveInPink brilliant news!

Fleurchamp · 15/12/2014 11:07

Yes I have been moaned at for being grumpy.
I just feel so tired. Every time I tried to have a nap DH would wake me with a ridiculous request.
Then, I got into a lovely sleep and DH woke me at 6pm in case I wouldn't sleep at night Angry

DH keeps asking me what's wrong and I keep saying I am tired. Which is true. But he just rolls his eyes.
I feel like making something else up just to please him.

I am secretly pleased he is working away this week as he is getting on my nerves. I feel awful for saying that Sad but it's true.

He is a health and fitness freak. His answer for my tiredness yesterday was a 4 mile route march walk. Yes, very helpful, I was then out for the rest of the afternoon.
Plus he keeps telling me off for snacking (which is all I want as big meals make me want to hurl).

Sorry, being a real grouse, I am v fed up Sad

TinyCaterpillar · 15/12/2014 11:14

Fleur with all due respect to your DH he has no idea what being pregnant is like! Just do what you need to do Flowers

Also grumpy here, it was one of my first symptoms in fact so it's been going on for weeks (lucky DH). I just have no patience at the moment, tiredness isn't helping.

Bra wise go to this website and use the measuring method - basically you measure under and over the bust but don't add anything! See Style & beauty boards for more info, I am by no means an expert but some of the ladies on there really know their stuff.

Threeplus1 · 15/12/2014 12:10

I'm definitely sure about my size as I've been measured and my bras fit fine.

As for Maternity bras, has anyone tried Cake Lingerie? I have some of their bras and nightwear as I did some modelling for them in my last pregnancy. They have some gorgeous pieces that don't look at all like mat wear

JoY007 · 15/12/2014 12:26

Hello Ladies, good weekend, got a Xmas tree woo hoo.

Mw appt was this morning, went ok, not as bad in terms of waiting. Nice mw and trainee. Now looking forward to my scan in 2 weeks Smile and 10 + 4 today.

Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 12:30

Threeplus1 Modelling? They'd have to airbrush my stretchmarks haha!

Great stuff Joy!

I had my scan on Friday, midwife is on Sunday, she is coming to me.
A bit backward I know. I did have a quick meet with M/W a few weeks back but she wanted me to have the early scan before a full book-in with her.

My next scan is 15th Jan when I will either be 12+5 or 13+5
(my dates suggest I am 9+2, scan suggests 8+2)

Overtiredbackagain · 15/12/2014 12:34

Is it all feeling very real now Number3?

I am desperate for my scan, I need something to convince me this is really happening - if that makes sense??

Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 12:41

Over that totally makes sense!!!

I was glad to see baby, OH was very tearful and kept asking to see the heartbeat again. I don't think he was expecting to see anything!!

Bless him.

I feel super nauseous today, i've been through several slices of toast but as soon as I finish eating I feel hungry!

Overtiredbackagain · 15/12/2014 12:44

Bless, that is really sweet. My OH is taking everything in his stride, he still wants to keep it quiet, I will be 11 weeks on Wednesday, and I am finding it very frustrating as I really want to tell the DC now. He nearly told his dad yesterday but then "bottled it" Sad

Eating little and often is best when you feel like this Number3, thankfully I am over the nausea now, just get very tired, but I have a raging hunger which I am trying to be careful with. Bananas are my friend at the moment

Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 12:49

Over

Bananas were my friend last week, so was carbonara, and now it isn't Sad
My OH said he wasn't going to tell his family, then blurted it out with "we're having a baby, sorry Mum"

I was like "sorry?!" then nearly died in fits of laughter at him.

It's DC 1 for him, DC3 for me, I really must learn to be more gentle less mean

I'm going for little and often, although a little seems to be a lot if that makes sense!!

I told my DC's a few weeks back as my DD (age 7) can be a handful. I needed her to understand she must be nice to Mummy. She has been trying her best!

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 15/12/2014 12:55

fleur he really needs to read the 'dad' section of the parenting books!

The advice is to eat little and often as everyone is doing here - it's the only thing that works!

Can really recommend the Bravado seamless bra - there are three sizes, and they really do fit boobs from tiny to large. They look a bit like a large sports bra, but come into their own in late pregnancy/breastfeeding.

Overtiredbackagain · 15/12/2014 12:58

Number3 same here DC3 for me, DC1 for OH, plus he is very young Grin I just feel like he is scared of telling them, which then makes me feel like I will be blamed for getting pregnant deliberately to trap him, when in reality he asked me to have a baby, as he wants a baby with me, but knows time is an issue since I'm 40. So I can completely under how you felt when your OH apologised to his mum, that is something I can imagine mine doing!!

I can't even tell my parents right now, because of their close relationship with my ex, so I don't feel like I'm getting any moral support, apart from a couple of close friends who know, and OH is being very good admittedly.

My DC will be thrilled about the baby, they keep talking about me having one after spending Saturday afternoon with my friends little one, I just feel like I'm stuck in limbo, and especially because I have no symptoms really, I feel like its not really happening.

Whinge over Grin

Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 13:06

How old are your two?

I had to swear my two to silence when they visited their Dad the arsehole

He is the last person I want to know, he is the type who would come and punch me in the stomach or something. I am dreading him finding out.

OH is lovely and supportive, probably a tad overprotective with the old "i might squash it" whilst having sex. I did find that quite funny too.

His Mum asked if it was planned, he sat there dumbfounded and I answered saying "yes it was"

His Mum was really nice, I was worried she would think I had 'trapped him'

My parents found out because they opened my scan letter which arrived at their house in error (I lived there until July and forgot to change my address) whoops!

My Dad seems pleased.

All the usual questions though about how will we cope financially etc.

Err like I hadn't already thought that one through!!

Overtiredbackagain · 15/12/2014 13:56

DS is 9 and DD 5, so an age where they will be able to help.

I think my parents will be pleased for me, it will be something for them to look forward to, especially as my father is in not great health, but I guess ex-h will really play on their heart strings, so I think I will have to learn to walk away again, like I had to at the beginning of last year, when they decided to support him through our break-up, instead of their daughter Sad

Don't talk about financials - money is hard enough now, now we'll have to factor in a nursery, and I still pay for after-school club which is £400 a month alone Shock but we'll manage, you do, don't you??

scrivette · 15/12/2014 14:01

Envious of everyone who has had scans/have their dates. I am about 10 weeks and haven't had the letter confirming the date yet. I want to be able to tell people (so they can see why I have been so grumpy/ill!)

Am also in denial about the bra situation!

Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 14:14

That's really rough! Why didn't they support you?

I walked away from my ex with two suitcases, my kids and never looked back. That was November last year, how life has changed!

My DS will be 12 in January and DD is 7.

I currently pay £200 a month for school club, thankfully my OH is a teacher so has term time off.

I'm looking at £900 per month for Nursery, but has to be done.

I will be going back to work after 8 weeks Sad

StoneBaby · 15/12/2014 14:17

fleur your DH needs a serious wake up call! Angry for you

lightgreenglass · 15/12/2014 14:20

I really recommend hot milk nursing bras for bigger chested ladies which are non wired and you can keep them for post pregnancy too. Last time I wore underwired till I gave birth then switched to nursing bras. Then my boobs deflated after I finished feeding Blush. So I'm back in pre pregnancy bras!

Overtiredbackagain · 15/12/2014 14:43

Blimey Number3, we could be the same person!!

They supported him because he is/was Mr Wonderful and I could never do any better and better the devil you know and all that. They literally cut me off for 12 months, she "had to deal with the separation" WTF?! My dad apparently didn't agree, but he just does as he is told Sad

I split with ex last March, but still had to live with him til end of September waiting for house to sell etc. He is very bitter, and still has a massive grasp on my parents.

Childcare is so bloody expensive, isn't it, mine will be the same for a nursery and then the added £400 for after-school club. I am praying my work will let me work from home one or two days a week, I have just told my boss, which I was dreading, but he was really pleased - although asking me if I knew who the dad is was a little odd?! I don't discuss my OH with bosses etc, so a fair but funny question! Because he is based in the US, he is happy for me to work from home two days a week, and said he will work with me to convince the company too, which helps a lot, although a long way to go before then.

I will be going back between 12-16 weeks, depending on how much holiday I can save between now and then, I'll only get paid for the first 12 weeks, but that's better than statutory.

Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 14:52

I get paid 90% for the first 6 weeks which is shit. Thankfully I am on quite a decent wage, but mine is twice as much as OH's so I have to be working.
I get childcare vouchers, but only the higher tax rate pay savings.

I am hoping OH will get childcare vouchers too. There is no chance I can work from home which is annoying.

I will be saving up as much holiday as possible too - and thankfully as baby is due in July OH will be off for the 6 weeks holiday too.

That is so bad about your parents, I was so lucky to have my parents.
I totally cut of the ex's family, I don't speak to any of them now. It had to be a clean break.

How funny, my boss said "who's the father" but he was joking. I just gave him the look Hmm

haha

fattycow · 15/12/2014 15:07

I have been in crop tops for weeks, as I don't fit in any of my bras and big boob bras are nearly impossible to find over here. I am a 32E normally, which is very difficult to get your hands on (most of my bras are bought online from the UK). 32F is maybe one bra in every 5 shops...

OP posts:
Number3cometome · 15/12/2014 15:10

Fatty you need to get someone shopping in Primark for you!
Where abouts are you?

Does anyone else remember when it used to be like that here?

Pre-babies I was a 32E and when I was a teenager could never get a decent fitting bra! If I did, it was always a triple back clip or some granny looking nude colour from BHS haha
