New thread, as the other one was nearly full! Can someone please post the stats page, as I'm useless with things like that!

I did the same la absolutely nothing wrong with it.

My mum regaled stories of drinking when expecting me, she was actually told to drink stout and Guinness as she had low iron Shock and I turned out perfectly fine well just!

fattycow · 25/12/2014 21:14

I haven't had a drop of alcohol for ages, but since getting pregnant the idea of alcohol really puts me off, so I'm not even tempted!

I'm not going to drink (because I cannot drink in moderation and my OH will be mad if I even have one) but one won't hurt! Don't feel bad, it's Christmas Smile

Linseyd - what has he said? You poor thing xxx

BadIdeaBear · 25/12/2014 22:07

I had a glass of white wine today - I started it at 2pm and finished at 6pm! But it was good to have it. Don't feel bad about it!

Odd afternoon with me - felt flat. I seem to hate not being in control of everything at the moment, and can't cope with people doing things differently to the way I would or the way I'd intended...
Ah well!
11+5

Hope your having a relaxing evening Flowers

Good night everyone x

Thepurplegiraffe · 26/12/2014 07:50

I would have had a glass of something yesterday if I wasn't feeling so sick all the time (although mini result I wasn't sick for the first time in a while), I don't think there is anything wrong with a small glass. I will at NY if I feel any better.

Hope you are ok Headless and Linseyd.

Zampa · 26/12/2014 08:25

Empirical evidence indicates that a unit of alcohol a week in the first trimester is fine. After that, the amount that is "safe" increases.

Some people drink, others don't. It's a personal choice. Just don't get drunk!

Hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Pipbin · 26/12/2014 08:57

Remember, back in medieval times everyone drank beer all the time as the water would make you ill.

That said I won't be drinking at all. I have taught two children with fetal alcohol syndrome. Although I know that their mother drank to excess during her pregnancy, it's not worth the risk.

Zampa · 26/12/2014 09:29

To those in the UK, who have had their first NHS scan - how quickly do you find out your Downs risk? Immediately with the NT check or do they wait for the blood results?

Thepurplegiraffe · 26/12/2014 09:50

I haven't had mine yet but I think last time there was an initial indication at the scan then the bloods came back about a week later. It is probably different from place to place though.

Pipbin · 26/12/2014 09:58

A friend of mine had high risk and she had a phone call rather than letter.

luckythirteen · 26/12/2014 10:01

Zampa, as far as I know we will get a letter with the combined results and risk. Scan was on 17th December and we know the NT of both babies. The bloods were sent off the same day and we were told that if the risk came back high we would probably receive a phone call within a couple of days, otherwise wait for a letter in the post. Haven't heard anything yet so assuming it's not high risk for us!

Zampa · 26/12/2014 10:03

Thanks team! Holding off telling people until we know the results of these tests but getting a bit bored of keeping a secret. NHS scan on 07/01 and Harmony on 09/01 so should know soon.

misseskimo · 26/12/2014 10:31

Morning ladies, me and DH spent the day yesterday on the sofa watching Christmas movies, then had tge most random Christmas "dinner" ever (I had chips & gravy and sprouts, he had sweet & sour pork balls! Lol) then one of my sisters came over in the evening with her DP to watch a movie.

Boxing Day is my family's Christmas Day, so telling all of them today. This should be interesting! Hoping to do the same card tri k with them as we did with DH's family, but theres a heck of a lot more of mine in one room to try and get opening cards at the same time! Eek!

BadIdeaBear · 26/12/2014 10:32

Morning all! Happy Boxing Day!

Well, we told my DSC this morning just before breakfast while lounging on the sofa. They seem genuinely excited and were interested in the scan pics and are up for a surprise on finding out the sex. I feel much more relaxed!

My DSS has already worked out a way to hug me that doesn't involve squeezing my breasts - what a star!

misseskimo · 26/12/2014 10:32

Oops

11+5 by my dates, 12+5 by 11wk EPU scan.

BadIdeaBear · 26/12/2014 10:38

Haha miss good luck coordinating the card opening!!

olympicsrock · 26/12/2014 10:39

Morning.
Still trailing at just 8+6.... I avoided all the cooking duties yesterday as the smells were not great but I was not sick.... Hurray! It was lovely telling our families yesterday. I work in a hospital and managed to persuade a colleague to do a scan on Sunday and sure enough there was a single splodge with a heart beat. Huge relief as my midwife has cancelled 2 booking appointments now at very short notice. I will be really hacked off if I can't get a scan appointment at the right time like in my first pregnancy....I am 36 so the nuchal lucency test is important to us.
Could someone add me to the stats?
Olympicsrock ed 31st July

misseskimo · 26/12/2014 11:19

JoY007 · 26/12/2014 12:21

Merry Christmas Everyone, congrats to those who have done their announcement. My close family and friends already know but now unto the wider public, might do it after my nuchal scan on Monday, or today if I get too bored Grin.

Christmas was good fun, tried to have a glass of prosecco but could only manage 1 sip.

Linseyd hope you are ok, don't worry too much, try to do something to take your mind of the situation. Most important thing now is the baby, stay strong Flowers xx

itsnotthatdeep · 26/12/2014 12:26

scan on Monday cant wait

I feel horrendous today stomach cant decide what it wants to do Sad

Pipbin · 26/12/2014 12:56

Yay Want. I was excited to be in double figures too today.

No symptoms here at all!

10+0

Thepurplegiraffe · 26/12/2014 14:32

No big announcements here. MIL already knew and apparently after hearing about our early scan she took it upon herself to tell the world. So when DH went to tell his family, they already knew.
