Merry Boxing Day all!

Well I am 10+1 today and my awful morning, noon and night sickness appears to have gone AWOL. Same yesterday. Not even nauseous. V v worried SadSad

Aretepetite · 26/12/2014 16:11

Broody When I first read your message I immediately panicked, as today I have no symptoms ! 99 % positive that today we are both having sympto-less ones. This has happened all through my pg so far, every now and then I get a day of grace. I find myself squeezing my boobs to make sure they are still heavy/sore Xmas Blush once you have your scan it will be easier to be happy on a day like this as opposed to worried . try relax Flowers

Can simeone tell me to breath and relax please?

I just wiped some thick mucus and I have very odd cramps down. Please tell me it's normal and I'm worried for nothing

10+1

Threeplus1 · 26/12/2014 18:59

I've been having thick mucus on and off stone and cramps on and off.... I've no reason to suspect anything though so I'm just putting it down to hormones and growing uterus.

We woke up Christmas morning to no water or heat.... Took over 4 hours to resolve so missed church, breakfast, showers and food prep was late. Didn't end up eating Christmas dinner until after 6pm Xmas Shock after which I ended up with a horrible case of diahorrhea and stomach pains (after weeks of constipation) so was in bed for 8:30 and slept until 8amConfused

We told all of our family over FaceTime yesterday, after telling the kids. DS, who is 11 looked horrified and said "wait a minute, you mean you actually had SEX?!" Blush

DS and dd1 are a bit on the fence about the whole thing, but dd2, who is 4, is ecstatic and wants a "sister baby" Grin

All family responses were very positive and excited, except for dh's paternal grandmother who, although happy for us, was disgusted by my labret piercing and told us 4 and no more! even though she had 5

StoneBaby · 26/12/2014 19:28

Thanks three I think it's probably ddue to lack of sleep as DS was sick most of the night resulting in me been up and awake between 1 & 4 am. In bed now Grin and will be asleep as soon as I log off MN

itsnotthatdeep · 26/12/2014 19:51

just walked home tentatively in the snow with the dog

what a wicked end to xmasGrin

Pipbin · 26/12/2014 20:04

Stone. The midwife told me that cramps were normal and only to worry if they were bad enough to make you grimace, then worry. Otherwise, if it feels like a stitch then don't worry.

misseskimo · 26/12/2014 20:28

stone I've had cramps almost non-stop throughout my pg so far, and also had thick mucus almost daily. Dr's told me it was just normal growing pains.

Told all my family today. Did the cards and all seemed to go well. Was odd after the reactions from DH's side, mine were very subdued about it and all quietly said congratulations. Unlike DH's family who squealed like banshees lol. Went to see my nan & grandad after, nan squealed, grandad however said "but it wasn't planned was it? So it must have been an accident" as an initial reaction... Lovely lol. Thankfully my nan stepped in and corrected him. I think he only reacted like that because my 19yo cousin got his 16yo gf of 3m pg last year, which was quite a shock to my grandparents (cousin was living with them at the time) so grandad obviously just seemed to think we were the same, forgetting of course that I'm 10yrs older, been withny DH 7yrs, married for 3 and just bought a house together rolls eyes Wink DH wasn't too impressed but thankfully isn't the type to say anything

WantToGoingTo · 26/12/2014 21:45

stone I have thick discharge every day (have to change underwear twice a day Blush) and have cramps on and off. I find cramps are come on if I am tired just before bed, or if I have overdone e.g. on feet for too long, been rushing about etc. If no blood and cramps aren't really painful I wouldn't worry. Our uteruses have a lot of growing to do in the coming months Grin

Just got back from more family today. Was so tired fell asleep amidst a busy room with loud film on. Was miserable all afternoon as was so tired. We left fairly early and I have been in bed ever since catching up on Christmas tv :) Now feel loads better, and also bad for being so miserable around the family earlier on Confused AT least they all know now though so can just roll their eyes and say ''pregnancy hormones'' haha. DH been brilliant though, drove me home early on cue and brought me lots of yummy snacks in bed Grin

Miss - my grandpa's reaction was a little surprising, as I told him and he said "yes darling" as if he already knew, no excitement at all and he is usually a very emotional person! I think he got confused with my cousin also announcing her pregnancy (5 days before me) the day before and either thought that I was her, or that I had told him yesterday Confused so that was a bit of a let down!

olympicsrock · 26/12/2014 22:19

Thanks Misses for adding me to the stats...

Ceejay14 · 27/12/2014 08:06

Hope everyone has had a good Christmas. We've told both sets of parents and both really happy.

I'm on countdown to 12 week scan on 8th Jan now. Then time to tell work officially, even though my manager and director have both guessed.

Leela5 · 27/12/2014 08:13

I'm just shocked you got to 10 weeks without the mucus stone! Grin I've had it constantly - it's perfectly normal

Cramps also normal - nothing to worry about as long as not severe and no blood. Drinking water and sleep help

Leela5 · 27/12/2014 08:14

11+1

Pipbin · 27/12/2014 08:40

Has anyone been peeing on sticks? I did one yesterday and the line was really faint. I've read this is normal after 10 weeks but it's still a worry.

Leela5 · 27/12/2014 08:43

It's normal to be faint later. Mix pee with water and line will magically reappear Smile

Pipbin · 27/12/2014 08:44

But I did that Leela and it was even fainter.

Littledragon13 · 27/12/2014 09:08

12 + 3 scan is on Tuesday. I hope and pray everything is okay, I've had a pretty easy pregnancy so far other than a load of stress which has been awful and I'm worried about the implications of this Sad

Jenbird5891 · 27/12/2014 12:06

Counting down to first scan on 6th jan! Anyone else had nuchal trans done? I sort of assumed most people had it as it's risk free by now wondering if it will cause extra worry! Also any tips on achieving 'comfortably full bladder' and not begin desperate to pee while inevitably being kept waiting?! I'm assuming the appointment time is not likely to be accurate if it's like other nhs appts?!

Bustherb · 27/12/2014 12:18

Hi Jen, I'm not sure how full your bladder has to be nowadays. I started to drink a pint about an hour before my appointment and only finished it as I was leaving the house and they had no trouble scanning me. When I had my early scan at 7 weeks the lady said it does depend on how much weight is carried around that area too. I've got a second 12 week scan on Tuesday (I'll be 13 weeks then) because when I had my first 12 week scan when I was 11 & 2 the lady had told me I was 1 day out of being able to have the NT testing. They check the depth of the fold of the back of the neck and then a blood test which will give you a combination result. One of my old next door neighbours told me about a test you can have done privately (I live in wales so they dot offer it on the nhs here which you can have that gives you a yes or no answer to the Down's syndrome, so I may opt for that if my probability comes back high as I don't think I'll want to have the amino thing. It's about £150 ish xxx

Jenbird5891 · 27/12/2014 12:56

Thanks bustherb! If I got high risk I don't think I want amnio due to the risk however small. I'm hoping I will just get low risk and have the reassurance even if it's not 100% predictor. No reason to think if r high risk as only 29 but I know age is not the only factor. Will cross the bridge if we come to it. Just looking forward to the scan as it still doesn't feel real even tho I'm already 12weeks now and I'm not letting myself get excited until we know all is ok. Already told family and work as it was too hard to keep secret over Xmas plus I tend to get anxious so just felt i would be more relaxed I it wasn't all a secret. If something were To go wrong i know I'd want support so seemed the right thing to do. Finally feeling human again this past week after feeling nauseous all the time and also having two weeks of horrible cold/cough! Hope it continues now near second trimester. Hang on in there those still feeling rough as it does get better! X

Pipbin · 27/12/2014 13:29

Jen. I've had to have a lot of full bladder scans etc in the past.
The trick is to drink a big glass of water just before you leave the house, then go for a wee straight away. By the time you have got into your appointment your bladder will be full but not so much that you are uncomfortable. Also, as you have not long had a wee psychologically you won't feel like you need one so much.

Number3cometome · 27/12/2014 13:40

Hi ladies, my symptoms were almost gone on Christmas Day but then yesterday morning woke up and puked again. Feeling ok today went and had a big breakfast which helped. Nipples still a bit sore.

You lot stop peeing on a stick, you are pregnant. It's just going to make you worry ??

Anyone else getting Braxton hicks? Seems so odd getting it this early on.

WantToGoingTo · 27/12/2014 13:58

Jen I drink small glass of water about an hour before and pee straight afterwards. By the time scan comes around an hour later I am bursting, so in past I have "let a little bit out" which is quite unpleasant at the time, but minutes after you don't feel quite so bursting and does help a bit! Weirdly enough though on my NT letter it says in red bold caps "YOU DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND WITH A FULL BLADDER" Confused so no idea why that it is! For my 9w scan I was told to drink lots before and had to be full! Any ideas ladies? I don't want to go to loo and then to find out they can't do scan cos they can't see anything cos my bladder is empty!

Pipbin · 27/12/2014 14:17

You need a completely empty bladder for an internal scan. It might be one of those.

broodylicious · 27/12/2014 14:37

Feeling v down today. No sickness or nausea again for third day. This isn't a good sign for me, going on my history. Will be demanding an emergency scan on Monday if still not feeling right (birthday tomorrow so shan't be doing anything that could end in disaster tomorrowHmm). Sorry to misery dump but need to write it down x
