New thread, as the other one was nearly full! Can someone please post the stats page, as I'm useless with things like that!

I can't wait to have a bump! My mum said she hardly had one with my brother and me and we were both tiny little dots.

Pipbin · 23/12/2014 12:57

I have had my heart racing too. Number.

Little. I have a bump sometimes. I'm a size 16 so not skinny but I do have a fairly flat stomach. I'm starting to see I bump sometimes.

NotPennysBoat · 23/12/2014 13:08

Butler the blood test will be to check if you've got immunity (if you've ever had chicken pox, you will almost certainly be immune). If you're not immune they will probably offer you a vaccine. Either way try not to worry!

I have a real tummy already, and it's not attractive it's like a big jelly! I was looking at Helen Flanagan's tiny bump in a bikini this morning and feeling envious!!

Littledragon13 · 23/12/2014 13:15

pennysboat me too! As annoying as she is, she has a body to die for!

Number3cometome · 23/12/2014 13:16

pennysboat
She is highly annoying. I wish her many stretchmarks and wobbly bits for her pregnancy kidding

Fleurchamp · 23/12/2014 13:18

So I survived the booking in apt and blood taking. I really thought the wee would be checked to make sure I am actually pregnant!

Anyway, have flu jab booked in and next appointment arranged. I feel like I am in the system Grin

Pipbin · 23/12/2014 13:21

I know what you mean Fleur.
It would be easy for someone to get this far into the system and get a maternity certificate without actually being pregnant.

Number3cometome · 23/12/2014 13:29

Pipbin

It's scary really if you think about it. Whatever happened to the days when you used to have a quick urine test at the docs to confirm?

I can imagine the system does get abused which is such a shame.

smallgreenbanana · 23/12/2014 14:17

dragon I've got a bit of something, but it's hard to tell if it's proper bump or just bloating and getting fat. Sad Wish I'd lost weight -- constant eating to avoid feeling sick = several pounds. Hmm

Number3cometome · 23/12/2014 14:20

smallgreenbanana I'm the same!

Said I was going to go gym today, but how can I go when I am constantly eating?!

smallgreenbanana · 23/12/2014 14:31

number3 Don't get crumbs in the treadmill! Wink

Raines100 · 23/12/2014 14:32

Sooo jealous of you ladies with your 12 weeks scans! Very pleased for you, too, of course. I've got ages and ages to go yet! I'm 9 weeks today and haven't had any early scans (glad I haven't had reason to need one). I'm struggling getting through each day with the nausea- just keep plodding along. I've got anti-sickness meds, and they keep me functioning, but they're not exactly miraculous. I haven't got a bump yet, but I can feel my uterus now above my pubic bone. 3rd baby, so I suppose I will pop quicker! Booking in appointment tomorrow, so hope I will get a scan date for 2nd week of Jan. Now to make xmas happen for two excited little boys when I'm feeling really rough... Xmas Smile

fattycow · 23/12/2014 14:33

I am getting a bump. Only me and DH see it yet, as it is tiny, but there deffo is a bump where there was nothing before!

Littledragon13 · 23/12/2014 15:23

smallgreenbanana I got that awful norovirus bug on top of morning sickness and lost over a stone in two days - god I felt awful!

The weight is slowly creeping back on, I did scoff two packets of Jaffa cakes last night Blush

naty1 · 23/12/2014 15:49

My thyroid levels were low on result from mw last mon. So i gave gps a copy (they dont seem to share a system) last week. That seems to have gone missing as they cant confirm gp has ok'd it being outside range.
Called to book mw appt and checked they had now seen - nope so i read results to receptionist. Call back soon after to say gp now seen and its ok, but will book a call for in jan. Cool i just wanted to know i didnt need to worry.

My thyroid meds can cause the rapid heart beat several of you are getting, though i feel fine despite being a bit hyper.
It may be because your thyroid is working hard (stimulated by hcg) to produce enough hormone for the baby too.

I suspect the bump will grow over xmas.

Butler4 · 23/12/2014 16:04

Thanks number and not pennysboat. Yeah checking for immunity to chicken pox. All should be well as my mum is sure I had it at 6 weeks when I wasn't meant to have it cos I was too young. All will tell tomorrow.
Trying to relax and enjoy our nice scan pic and be happy. Thanks for all your help ladies. I must say I have had a really great experience of my local nhs, couldn't praise them enough

ohlordyplordy · 23/12/2014 16:15

Are any of you ladies going to have any alcohol over Christmas? I'm going to make a mandarin trifle and usually have a few splashes of cointreau in the base - will this really do any hatm?

ohlordyplordy · 23/12/2014 16:17

Oops harm obviously. I haven't been on the cointreau yet honestly!

twinky12 · 23/12/2014 16:22

Hello ladies hope u are all well. Just checking in. Managed to get a midwife app today some1 had cancelled, relieved although the first thing she did was a blood test yuck. Feels alittle more real today.

smallgreenbanana · 23/12/2014 16:27

ohlordy Had an early Christmas dinner at my parents last weekend. I had a tiny glass of 12% wine in a sherry glass! First (and last) alcohol I plan on having this festive season though.

From what I can tell, there's no evidence that a splash of anything will harm the bean. Even the mw said that if I had to have a sip to be polite at a Christmas party, not to worry (I just avoided all the parties instead -- too sick!). I appreciate some people would rather not take the risk, very fair.

Number3cometome · 23/12/2014 16:34

ohlordy

I will not be drinking any alcohol over the festive season.

I did have one single drink in my first pregnancy, but none in my second.

I am the sort of person who doesn't drink alcohol for the taste, but for the merry feeling and I won't get that from one glass.

Also OH is dead against me having any alcohol, he almost threw a fit when he saw a Becks Blue has 0.05% in it haha

I won't be bothering with that again, it tastes like shit.

I don't miss alcohol (if anyone I knew was here they'd be shocked at me saying that!)

Caffeine is my poison, i've been really struggling with only 2 cups of 'real' tea a day been having about 10 crap decaff ones

JoY007 · 23/12/2014 16:40

Hello All! Physio appt went well, apparently a joint is misaligned the sacroiliac joint.

She tried to move it back in place, think it worked but still sore and inflamed. I am currently all taped up like an athlete to ensure everything stays in place Smile.

No walking for long periods and plenty of ice treatment to reduce inflammation. Feel slightly better that there is a solution.

smallgreenbanana · 23/12/2014 16:41

number3 Try Bavaria 0.0% - better taste and brewed with no alcohol at all.

Littledragon13 · 23/12/2014 16:46

I'm treating myself to a glass of Rioja on Boxing Day

Number3cometome · 23/12/2014 16:46

I will give that a try. Thanks Banana!
